Whats the current consensus on where chocolate and cherry stand right now? also, MF Canadian sellers?
submitted over 7 years ago by Space_Pegasus

Hey everyone. Haven't done heavy mixing for a while and figured i should start back up by smashing my face against a cement wall.

So my questions are what is the current "meta" so to speak in terms of authentic, non medicine, authentic tasting cherry and authentic chocolate?

Been doing some research before this post:

In terms of cherry i want to aim for an actual cherry fruit flavour, not a cherry mixed with something else where cherrys are just complimentary. Although, let's be honest, I'm probably going to have to resort to that.

Black Cherry for Pipe (INW): Burnvictim mentions in the cherry flavour of the week thread that there is zero medicine flavour to it, but that it has a noticeable throat it which kind of scared me. perhaps this could be good combined with a brighter cherry?

Cherry Blossom (TFA): Seems to pop up a lot in my research, and is the top recommendation in Rinvapes' comment on the cherry thread. Without trying it, my brain pictures this might be the "brighter cherry" to contrast with a dark one like the cherry for pipe.

White Cherry/Black cherry (MF): Burn victims mentions this to be more authentic and I would definitely like to get it but falls victim to a problem I've had for a while which is that it seems like getting medicine flower in canada is like rocket science or will cost me an arm and a leg. I saw in some posts that abdaba is selling MF now. Does he ship to canada?

any tips on what kind of other fruits might be used to fill out or compliment the cherry to give it more juiciness would be very much appreciated.

For chocolate, same thing. I want to get an authentic chocolate that isnt a background note and not combined with anything. Over the years MF has been recommended but once again with the issue of actually getting some.

Chocolate Glazed Doughnut (CAP): only chocolate flavour that I haven't strongly disliked. tastes like hot chocolate mix to me.

dark chocolate/white chocolate (MF): from my research seems to be the holy grail. Once again though. How do i get this stuff?

cookies and cream (RF): Dabbled a bit with it and it seems to show some promise but isn't a true chocolate as the name implies.

Anything else I've tried like FA Chocolate, TFA Double Chocolate and TFA White Chocolate seems crappy and powdery and just not great. white chocolate in particular i actually got peppery notes from which was very unpleasant.

So ya, I would love to hear updated thoughts on these 2 enigmatic flavours, what they can used with to bring em out and any advice you have on getting me some sweet MF flavours into my hands.

Thanks!

My favorite cherry isn't a cherry. INW Marzipan. Great cherry note for bakeries (and cereals hint hint).

I can't help much but to say I've been mixing my newly-ordered MF flavors, White Chocolate and Black Cherry, at 1 percent each for a couple weeks, no sweetener no PG, and the flavor is great. I'd have to imagine Dark Chocolate is richer and more black foresty, but I decided to try White Chocolate first to shoot for low gunking.

I get stuff delivered to the States from Amazon and then shipped to my country, so it's just a matter of paying a bit more for duty but otherwise pretty easy. Did you look for any local "international ordering and shipping" companies?

TFA Cherry Extract - no downside in terms of off taste, but not a "real fruit flavor" INW Cherries - pretty much the same... but INW Cherry, INW Cherry in Liqueur, and INW Cherries in Liqueur are all different. Tl;dr cherry is still a white whale.

Chocolate, there's a few popular choices.

None of those cherry's taste like cough syrup? But also don't taste like actual cherry?

The two I mentioned taste cherry like. Just not completely like a fresh natural cherry (or a maraschino cherry for that matter). But really, .25% LA Cherry is relatively free of the Bacardi's White flavor, and is just a lightweight cherry drink that's been watered down.

I've been getting decent(ie no cough syrup) out of Cherryl from FA when used low enough with some almond to push it forward.

For chocolates HS Australian Chocolate and JF Milk Chocolate are good.

I second this! FA’s cherries are the only ones that I’ll touch. Black Cherry always seems like it has the best flavor, but it’s got the lightest, most airy texture. Their regular cherry doesn’t seem medicinal to me either, but it’s a super fake cherry- very fruit snack-like.

I also agree about throwing in almond or hazelnut with Black Cherry. I’ve been trying to figure out a cherry milkshake recipe for the last year, and using 0.5% FA Almond with 1.25% FA Black Cherry is the only way I’ve been able to give the cherry some badly needed body.

Try a small amount of torrone with the almond and cherryl

Will do. About how much would you recommend adding to, say, 1% Cherryl?

Only place I've heard of in Canada that has MF is a cocoa brewing site called Crio Brü (dot ca not dot com).

I'll look into that.

Doesn’t Ecig Express sell some MF and call it something else maybe? Sorry I don’t know if they ship to Canada but can’t see why not considering you’re so close 😬....;)

After some good reviews, I finally got ahold of some MF Glamour Chocolate. I found it to be just OK, not the magic I had hoped. I have 15 different chocolates and have yet to find a mix I like.

TFA Cherry Blossom is not floral or medicinal. It is good.

I agree with Glamour Chocolate. Good, but not coming close to Milk Chocolate inw. I usually mix it with MC inw, add a drop of MC flv or Nanaimo Bar depending on a recipe. Dark Chocolate is very good, but i haven't been playing a lot with it yet.

by lNTERLINKEDover 7 years agoI did not ask for this flair.

The best cherry recipe I've ever tried was /u/ID10-T's Hello Daddy Hello Mom. I had to sub the FA milk for Cream Fresh, but it turned out great. Smooth, nice cherry fruit and good mix of creams.

I will post a review once I try it with FA milk, I promise! :)
