I wonder how many of them will taste like lemon.

When life gives you lemons... make concentrates that shouldn't taste like lemon do so anyway?

They'll probably contain the good stuff and not be available in the states.

Suggesting flavors taste like lemon is grounds for libel in some states...

They can't release new flavors without at least one lime and a lemon pastry.

But seriously, I'm excited for all of these. Especially Chocolate Doughnut. I seriously hope they didn't fuck these up.

They have 5 more Pazzo flavors as well.

1 points

by St1llFrankover 7 years ago

I have not tried anyy of the Pazzo flavors. Is there a general consensus yet about which are good or the best of them?

1 points

by JooseMakerWannabeover 7 years ago

I have heard a lot about Queen and Jack, not so much about the others, tho.

I have one 10ml of each of the original five flavors.

I'm new, so take everything I say with a grain of salt. I feel like each has their ups and downs. They could be solid base liquids to work with, and tweek with other flavors to make waaay better. Some better for that than others. The main complaint I've heard, and had, is that they're marketed as a SNV, but they all really need to steep for a week or two to be good. The Joker is the only one that is good as a SNV, but gets better with age.

Gonna try fiddling with the Joker (a Burlone, pastry, a hint of chocolate and vanilla), to bring out more of the chocolate flavor. It seems great as a simple pastry base, since the crust is on point in that one.

If you toss me a PM, I could send you a ml or two of each to try out, if you'd like. I'd need to buy some 10ml or smaller bottles somewhere first, though.

No F U Shaun Casey concentrate? Dissapointing.

Nice! I love everything I’ve tried from them. Interested in the ice cream as any more non-peppery alternatives to TPA VBIC are great for me.

Let’s hope it’s not modelled from condensed milk!!!

by Barbarakeover 7 years ago

Hey, I like Flavor Arts condensed milk (in a really really tiny percentage like 0.1%).

Is that something FA have done before?

by jengamaster345over 7 years ago

Awesome. I'm really looking forward to jammy wizard, assuming it's an additive to make fruits taste like jam. FA liquid amber works well for that too, so I wonder how different it will be.

1 points

by Mistbourneover 7 years ago

Damn, good call. I was wondering how Jam Monster gets the jam flavor in their juices, but an additional additive would make sense.

Anyone know how Jam Monster does it?

Pretty sure Real Flavors makes strawberry jam with toast flavoring... So I've heard RF has lockdown of all the jam monster bases.

Rf jam and toast and rf strawberry for the strawberry jam monster

Fuck yes. Thanks much. Gonna need to look into ordering this.

Tpa blackcurrant at 1% into your favourite strawberry combo, plus about 3% sweetener.

I made a good toast base featuring inw biscuit and AP.

I'd be more interested in making the Blueberry Jam Monster, that is my favorite of them. The shop I go to sometimes does have a blackberry one too that is pretty good but not different enough to feel worth it

1 points

by Mistbourneover 7 years ago

Ya, I want the grape one, personally. There is a clone of the Blueberry floating around, same guy that made the Strawberry clone.

New name for /u/JaiHaze ?

Coincidentally I just watched part of one of his videos today for the first time. I couldn't take it after a couple minutes. He was freaking out over some wire haha.

3 points

by Mistbourneover 7 years ago

Haha, he's a character for sure. I watch him because some of the comedy is to my tastes, and he does solid reviews. He nitpicks a lot. Not always on atuff I agree on. But if he does that, you know he catches the big issues as well.

One of the few reviewers I trust completely on Youtube, that's for sure.

by benphillips_over 7 years ago

Jai does overdo his reactions to things quite a bit, especially that wire video, but as the owner of a shop he has good reason to. It's his reputation on the line for selling nickel labelled as kanthal. Sure it came from Kidney Puncher but Jai is the one who sold it and is losing money on the wire.

I personally love Jai's reviews. He's picky, but so am I so I can relate to him.

If the flavors run as intended, I wouldn’t mind mixing a dragon fruit ice cream with em.

Bavarian cream? Isn't Vienna cream Bavarian?

3 points

by lNTERLINKEDover 7 years agoI did not ask for this flair.

Vienna cream is basically buttercream, and bavarian cream is a dessert with sugar, eggs, cream, gelatine and milk.

1 points

by Ernie_is_deadabout 7 years agoFrugivore

Dude please. Vienna is in Austria.

0 points

by Kewkewmoreabout 7 years agojust add sucralose

The kingdom of Bavaria encompassed much of modern day Austria.

1 points

by Ernie_is_deadabout 7 years agoFrugivore

and we even speak the same language :)

But we have pride in our local dishes, and Vienna cream is not the same as Bavarian Cream.

My remark was not really serious anyway ;) (and I was not the one who downvoted you either).

Since none of them will contain the good stuff (from what I gathered from another post) none of the cream / pastry / desert stuff sound promising. Hopefully I’m proved wrong !

by juthincover 7 years agoOne of "The Damned"

Luckily, none of them sound appealing, so I can keep the FANA jackoffs (allegedly) from getting any more of my money.

7 points

by ID10-Tover 7 years agoWinner of the 2nd DIYorDIE World Mixing Championship

I keep those jackoffs from getting mine by ordering from Chefs.

2 points

by Kewkewmoreover 7 years agojust add sucralose

Great idea, but if this catches on they will start lobbying for tariffs...

7 points

by ID10-Tover 7 years agoWinner of the 2nd DIYorDIE World Mixing Championship

Nah, it'll never catch on with their commercial customers and since DIY is less than 1% of their business and lobbying costs money, they'll just threaten to sue us for calling them jackoffs.
