Howdy Mixers!
Here go again. /u/Aepko is the MVP of the April Challenge and will be contacted about a small token of appreciation. The creator of last month's clone challenge showed up and basically gave us the recipe.
The purpose behind this monthly clone challenge is always to gather the community behind an effort to clone just one juice.
The subject of this month's challenge is Backwoods Blueberry by Evo, which was requested by /u/ironfairy
Evo claims, "This wild blueberry E-juice has a smooth, natural blueberry flavor and no lingering aftertaste."
Here are some Youtube reviews:
This stuff as been around for a bit! That last vid was posted in 2014.
And don't forget all of the other valuable resources right here in this subreddit, including flavor reviews that cover a number of blueberry flavors.
And three previous times that Blueberry has been the Flavor of The Week:
A reminder from all the previous clone challenge posts: You are perfectly welcome to completely ignore the cloning aspect of this challenge and just consider the juice description as a prompt to create a recipe all your own with that profile. In this case, that would be natural blueberry.
Please respond with recipes for Evo Backwoods Blueberry, ideas about how to start an attempt to clone that flavor, your own delicious blueberry recipe or thoughts about blueberry recipes, general thoughts about having a monthly clone challenge, hate mail, love letters, lewd artwork, dirty limericks, comments, questions, concerns, anything remotely on topic. Thank you. Love you all. Except you. You suck. You know who you are.
Edit: Added link to last month's challenge by request
So you want a natural blueberry eh? You wanna taste that fresh off the plant, pop in your mouth blueberry eh? Dip your toes (and tongue, well not literally, just vape the shit) in this Blueberry base:
-
TFA Blueberry Extra @ 3 %
-
FW Blueberry @ 2 %
-
FA Bilberry @ 0.5 %
Edit: I almost forgot about adding your favorite lemon in there to make it pop. I use FA Lemon Sicily @ 0.35 %
Is this the blueberry trinity?
Uh... didn't you misspell "INW Lemon Mix @.1%"?
And this would be a off the full-sun side of the bush during the early afternoon, right? Add a bit of WS-23 for out of the bowl in the fridge.
Have u tried CAP blueberry or BB jam? I think they make a much more authentic BB than TFA or FW...
I’ve only tried the Silverline Blueberry Extra and I’m not a fan. I know u/ConcreteRiver likes it though
How precisely are we supposed to just post the blueberry trinity and claim it was our own creation?
That sounds like a question for /u/EdibleMalfunction
Hey, I just did the testing of flavors to come up with a good, natural tasting blueberry. What you guys do with it is your creation.
Having said that...am I supposed to post it here?
Hey this is great timing! I actually have a boatload of blueberry flavors coming on Friday, and my sample of Backwoods Blueberry just came today.
Most of what I've been mixing are pre-made recipes, I'm looking forward to heading off into the (semi) wild. Will update with what the blueberry trinity tastes like vs Backwoods later in the week.
Be prepared for the backwoods to be a real letdown after the trinity.
Well the trilogy is delicious, can't deny that. The bilberry really pulls that mix through into a genuine tart blueberry mouthfeel.
Backwoods at first was putting me off, I'm really enjoying it now though. It absolutely has INWs Blueberry it. That flavoring alone has a weird minty syrup-like blueberry taste to it. The offnotes are definitely far in the background with Backwoods though.
Can I create the trinity with TFA blueberry wild, instead of FW blueberry?
It's the only one I don't have!
/u/EdibleMalfunction I think we have someone proposing heresy here. What do we do with heretics?
Hmmm his username is a little suspicious...
I would say if you didn’t have Extra, use Wild, but I’m not sure using Wild in place of the FW will really do anything for you. If you have Extra, bump it up to 5% and don’t worry about subbing.
