This might be a silly thought but, I'm on a very strict diet atm, and I kinda feel like I'm getting sugars / calories from vaping.
Could this be true?
Anyone ever stopped to give this some thought? Aw

This has been brought up during diabetes conversation as well for blood sugars. Most have reported that there is insignificant differences or undetectable.
If you are gaining weight after vaping, its because you are eating too much.

Glycerine can be metabolized and turned into sugars (as well as water and carbon-dioxide.) But unless you're chain-vaping through 300mls a day, you're likely not going to need to worry (because when you inhale a moderately thick cloud, you're only likely putting less than a tenth of a millilitre of VG into your body. It's why you also don't need to worry about going too hard on VG because it's one of the simplest, and safest, sources of natural sugars we know of. And what isn't metabolized will be consumed by the macrophages in your lungs and trachea, assuming the cilia haven't swept it out.)
Here's a decent link that goes into it better than I could.
The reason you feel that way is because you're tasting something and it's tricking your body into thinking you're eating. Human bodies aren't designed to inhale tasty shit, and our brains know that.
you're getting downvoted but I agree. I've read similar things when I was heavy into weight training for muscle. Eating high macro ratios of proteins and fats, and watching carbohydrate intake the most. And it was the problem with artificial sweeteners that people used to satisfy their sweet tooth without consuming sugars. So even though the calorie count in sugar substitutes is supposed to be zero the brain still reacted as if it was real sugar, for example, insulin spikes to trigger the shuttling of fats directly into cells for storage.
I've thought about it. Sucralose and other sweeteners can cause certain insulin/blood glucose reactions in some people in normal dietary conditions but I don't know about the effects of inhalation applications. I want to say someone on r/keto may have posted something about it at some point. I'll try and find it and get back to you.
Edit: [Here is one] (https://www.reddit.com/r/keto/comments/2a0yr7/vaping_carbs/)
I had to do a quick brush-up on some info but there are a couple of points here. First most people offering their experiences say the amount of sweeteners are of negligibly minimal amounts that won't affect glucose metabolism in MOST people. A very small percentage of people have a biological response to even tasting sweeteners, both real and fake, that automatically kickstarts their brain and body to prepare for the extra ingestion of these types of carbs (insulin response). This is a very small percentage of people though.
The only real way to accurately tell if this is happening is to do blood tests to measure your personal responses to the sweeteners in your liquids over a longer period, usually a few days to week.
I've lost weight since I started vaping (mostly fruit flavored juices), so I doubt it has any effect on your daily calories intake.
I find that vaping sweet juices (cakes and waffle things) kills my cravings for sweet foods. I can't eat most pastry (am vegan) so I end up eating peanut butter and such with a spoon. Sometimes a whole jar. But now I just vape some cakes instead and usually the cravings go away. Pretty cool.
Unless you’re eating eliquid with a sweetener in it, I think you’re fine. Nicotine does mess with insulin levels though.
Make that drinking eliquid that's toxic to vape.
Sweetener in vaping is non-caloric 'artificial' sweeteners, whether polyols or whatever. Sucralose, the most common 'sweetener' is not a sugar and will not give calories.
Vaping actual sugars (like in FW Yellow Cake) is unhealthy in ways unrelated to calories.
Does VG or PG contain calories?
If you're really interested in testing this just start doing a ketogenic diet and buy some ketostrips. You'll see that your body still produces and pisses out ketones on a ketogenic diet, which should say that you're not ingesting any sugars, or perhaps a very negligible amount from vaping.
My understanding of the human body is that calories are a product of digestion not inhalation so calories are a non-concern when vaping. However insulin level are known to be triggered by many sweeteners to varying degrees. Insulin when triggered will shut down your fat burning process until it's fully used up. So to answer your direct question, vaping should not affect weight loss but it very well may slow down fat loss, a subtle but important difference.
As for real life experience, I lost over 100 lbs on keto in 2017 vaping heavily all along the way and paying zero attention to calorie count. There's nothing more confusing to friends then saying you are on a diet (and they are seeing the results) while eating a bunless 7X7 from steak n shake with extra mayo :-)
