Weekly 'Suggest a Recipe for my Flavors' Thread - Week of May 04, 2018

Got a bunch of flavors but not sure how to make them work together? Post your list here, and our team of semi-professional mixologists will make suggestions for you! Don't forget to include manufacturers' names for all of your concentrates, and make your list easier to read by using bullet points or at least listing each of your flavors on a new line by hitting return twice after each flavor.

Impatient and want to do this on your own? /u/daath has a nice website that has this functionality, but you will need to register to make it work. It is not very intuitive but if you work with it you can input your flavors and get a list of recipes that you can make. To get this to work, first set up an account. Then add your flavors to the stash (under my page / my flavor stash). Hit save. Then go back to the front page and click the link next to the search field, "Search by flavor stash." You can select a couple of your flavors and recipes that have those will pop up.

You could definitely make a nice Strawberry Cheesecake with what you have. I've used Graham crust before and it gives it a decent cake taste. I'd go for Strawberry Ripe 7% Cheesecake Graham Crust 5% Vanilla Swirl 0.7% for a nice light vanilla note. Sweetener 1% if you please.

I've been having fun with this type of mixed, and I love them. I will try what you suggest. Any other ideas? Something fresher? I've tried and loved 4% lemon Sicily with 8% blueberry extra, and a drop of sweetener.

FA Fuji works pretty well standalone. It's better with some cooling tho... Maybe 1.5% FA Fuji with .5% FA Lemon Sicily. Give that .25% INW Cactus or FA Pear if it seems a touch dry.

My order from TFA was just delivered today, here's what I've got:

Bavarian Cream

Cheesecake Graham Crust,

Dragonfruit,

Graham Cracker Clear,

Peach (Juicy),

Peanut Butter,

Pear,

RY4 Double,

Strawberry,

Strawberry (Ripe),

Sweet Cream,

Vanilla Swirl

Raspberry (Sweet) (planning on mixing with some peach and either sweetener or cotton candy)

Cotton candy

I've also got a berry mix from wizardlabs (sourced from TFA) and 15mL of sweetener. I usually mix at 6mg/mL nicotine if that makes any difference. I'm pretty new to mixing so any good recipes would be appreciated!

Edit: Also add steeping times if needed please :^)

So I'm only on mobile and can't link to E-L-R easily,

But 4% strawberry ripe, 2% strawberry 2% dragonfruit and 4% vanilla swirl is a really nice little strawberry and vanilla cream mix, the triacetin in TFA dragonfruit really helps "thicken" (for lack of a better word) and mesh the two strawberries together and the vanilla swirl is just a delicious compliment to it

Gets a little perfumery at 6% for me, I'd just leave the strawberry ripe at 4% and omit TFA strawberry :)

I imagine you had these super popular recipes in mind when you bought those flavors, but I thought I might mention them just in case. You can make God Milk, Mother of God’s Milk, and Mother of Dragon’s Milk

Out of all of them, I prefer Mother of God’s Milk, but that’s just my preference.

Hmm...

6% RY4D
8% Peanut Butter
5% Raspberry Sweet

You mix that at 60-40, steep it for a month.

How long would that second recipe need to steep for? And is the steep time for the first one that long since the RY4D is a tobacco flavor?

RY4D is allegedly a tobacco flavor. Which apparently only shows up with low VG mixes, since otherwise it's just a dirty caramel.

Hello everyone, I'm brand new to DIY ejuice. I actually only have 3 flavors. I bought them with the intention of mixing them together, but I'm not really sure what percentages I should mix them at.

The flavors are:

TFA RY4 Asian

TFA Vanilla Bean Ice Cream

TFA Caramel Cappuccino

So far, I have made two sample batches: the first (7 days ago) with 8 mg/mL nicotine, 50/50 VG/PG, and each bottle with only a single flavor at the low side of their recommended concentrations (10%, 5%, and 0.2% respectively). The second batch I made without nicotine because I read it'll be easier to taste the flavors that way. The first batch was 5 mL bottles and the second was 10 mL bottles.

Question:

Should I just try a bottle with all 3 flavors using the same percentage I used before? Or should I reduce their individual concentrations in order to mix them all?

Have you tried them?

And where did you get your recommended concentrations? Use /u/concreteriver's recommendations, they're more accurate than TFA's.

That said, if you liked them all at the strengths you tested (which would be odd) then yes you could mix the samples together 1:1:1 and see what it's like. The concentration of such a mix would be ~ 3.33%, 1.67%, .07% tho. A 9:1:10 ratio would give a much better 4.5%, .25%, .1% result.

Or, you could just mix a combination of them with concentrations based off of your opinion from the SFT.

Yes, I tried them. I tried the no nic batch the day that I mixed it, then the day after.

I got the recommended concentrations from this subreddit, though I'm not sure it was from that user. Let me check on that. It was a long list of updated concentrations for TFA flavors.

Yeah, I liked the strengths actually. The only flavor I wasn't crazy about was the RY4 Asian, but my friend said it makes a good base for desert recipes. If I changed anything, I might go lower than 10% on the RY4 Asian. TBH, I kind of want to wait a little longer, then retry the flavors after they've aged longer. That's really the only way to know, right?

I don't understand what you're saying about the concentrations. I understand the first part: mix the samples together at 1:1:1. How does that work out to those concentrations though? With that last sentence, are you recommending those concentrations (4.5% RY4, 0.25% VBIC, and 0.1% CC)?

TBH, I was probably going to mix a fresh batch instead of using the samples. The individual flavors are pretty good to vape on their own, so I was going to keep them. Also, I wanted to keep them for future reference ("This is what this flavor tastes like").

If you mix together samples with concentrations A,B, and C respectively, in a 1:1:1 ratio, the concentrations in the mix will be A/3, B/3, and C/3 respectively. With the 4.5/.25/.1 that's what I would recommend iff you were only mixing from the samples, and even then only if you insisted on using all three. Otherwise I'd skip the VBIC altogether.

And the RY4 probably should have a month steep, to be honest.

What on earth does that cockamamie percentage nonsense do for this poor cat but confuse and/ or scare the crap out of him? It’s definitely not encouraging imo. It’s you acting like u know more than you do...lol, sorry, but I’m sure I’m not the only one thinking it but maybe the only one to speak it. Just stop plzz.. that’s so unclear to a brand new mixer, lol, give them a break.

I really like Cap NY Cheesecake but I'm not finding any good recipes with it as the main flavor. Anybody want to take a crack at it? (u/ID10-T your ideas are always hot fire if you have time)

Looking for the main note to be that cheesecake so some of these might not work as they may dominate it: like strawberry, pistachio etc. Though I'm a butterscotch fiend so anything that includes that is welcome :)

Hey, Bud. Try this:

Butterscotch Cheesecake

6% CAP NY Cheesecake
1.5% LA Cream Cheese Icing
3% FW Butterscotch Ripple
2% FLV Butterscotch
3% TFA Cheesecake Graham Crust

And if you're feeling more adventurous:

Pistachio Cheesecake

6% CAP NY Cheesecake
1.5% LA Cream Cheese Icing
4% TFA Pistachio
0.75% FLV Pistachio
2% CAP Sugar Cookie
1.5% TFA Graham Cracker Clear
1% INW Creme Brulee

You'll need to steep either of these for at least two weeks and three would be be better.

Edit: I usually vape 3mg and prefer higher vg juice if that would change anything
