Just wanted to thank the people here for their help. I just started mixing my own juice a week ago, but I don't think things would have gone so well without the information and advice available here. From flavor selection to actual mixing and steeping tips everything was easy to find and the community was actual responsive and helpful.
So far I've only whipped up 8 30ml bottles of different flavors, but each one was tasty and I am looking forward to how the tastes change as the flavors fully steep. I'm sure I would have made duds or some unvapeable juice if I had gone in blind on my own.
Nic river, ELR and AlltheFlavors were awesome and you guys pointed the way.
Thanks and stay awesome.
Awesome, always good to see a mixer on the right path to DIY.
Keep an open mind, with your resources, with your flavors and with your ideas for mixing!
I made a few mods to one peach cobbler recipe, I didn't quite have the flavors for. Graham cracker for a cheesecake crust and cream fresh for whipped cream. Still turned out delicious, but I think the next batch will have a little less graham cracker and a little more cream. Still turned into a delicious juice, but it has more of a peach crumble rather than a real peach cobbler. It would even do will with some apple as the cinnamon notes in the graham cracker would lend well to an apple pie mix.
will revisit it again in another week though before mixing more. Lots of comments suggest creams and a few other flavors take more time before they really pop.
If it taste good to begin with is always good steeping is not really gonna fix a bad one.
But yeah creams should get better with a good steep. Smooth out and be nice and creamy.
I used to vape them after a day or 2 if they tasted good , but now I try to give em 2 weeks. Really does do wonders for them.
i found an ultrasonic cleaner for $30 I might snag, 2 weeks is a long time. I am sure it will be easier when I have more juices done. I think I will remake my top 4 in 60mls, and try different recipes on the next batch. I am really hoping the honeysuckle gets a little stronger, but i might just have to punch up the flavor percent or maybe add some maltol to it, although marshmellow might be nice too.
already started a list of extra flavors for the next order. I like my vapebox sub, but i may put it on hold and just go nuts on mixing my own. the monthly hardware thing is cool, but i might just get some clones from fasttech and wait for it to show up after i forgot about. close enough to a monthly surprise.
I've only been mixing for a couple of months so take this with a grain of salt but I've heard bakery flavors benefit from long steeping times, for example I made a INW Biscuit and INW Naked Peanuts mix which was absolutely horrendous, it was so bad it made me gag. I gave it another try a couple of days ago after about six weeks steeping and it's actually not bad now, never going to be my favorite but I'm more into tobacco flavors anyway. So it might be worth keeping that in mind if you're into bakery flavors.
Welcome to this awesome obses...er hobby!
I really like trying new flavors, I have only repurchased one flavor the whole time I've been vaping. This is like the ultimate way to try new things every single time. I'll be able to mix recipes slightly different, experience them at different steep times, swap out one fruit for another, swap out one brand for another. Every little bit will give me a new experience and that is before using different coils, cotton, atomizers with different airflows. I'm not look for the ultimate experience, just enjoying the journey and learning.
This community is awesome, and is so willing to share knowledge and collaborate to make amazing mixes.
I've been DIYing for approximately 3 years now, and have learnt almost everything I know through this sub.
If it wasn't for the great people here, I might never have had the patience to pursue what is now my favourite part of Vaping.
