So every week I make 2 new 60MLs for a friend, and every week he asks me to make a steeper and a SnV. This week he asked me for a bakery, and a kiwi recipe - with the kiwi, he said, surprise me. This is how this recipe was born, and I think it might be one of the most enjoyable recipes I've ever created.
I knew that Kiwi was going to be the star of the show, but I wanted to bring some supporting characters into the mix. I was trying different variations of tropical fruits and the no brainers like strawberry when I decided it might be nice just to make a simple Kiwi and apple recipe. I played around with a few different things and this is what I settled on, and I'm really enjoying this iteration.
FA Kiwi - 3%
FA Fuji - 1%
This was a nice base to work with, but I wanted to punch it up a bit and I assembled the supporting cast. I decided to pair the apple with a pear, one that I had recently purchased, and hadn't really played around with a lot. Inawera Pear. Boy was I sleeping on this concentrate, it's truly amazing.
Enter INW Pear at 1%.
Accents? Cool lets go with the usual suspects, I wanted this to be juicy so I added INW Cactus at 0.3%. I wanted to make those fruits pop so I threw in 0.5% TFA Dragonfruit. Pretty solid so far. This tasted great. Almost done. Then I decided I wanted to add a touch of one last thing to set this recipe apart from just another fruit mix. Something to call it my own. And here comes another star in my opinion, that adds a whole new delicious dimension to the mix. 0.1% FA Honey.
So Here is my final rendition, something I think tastes great - I hope you all will give me your criticisms and critiques and let me know what you think.
Flavor House|Flavor|%
:--|:--:|--:
FA|Kiwi|3%
FA|Fuji|1%
INW|Pear|1%
TFA|Dragonfruit|0.5%
INW|Cactus|0.3%
FA|Honey|0.1%
Mānuka honey is produced by introduced European honey bees (Apis mellifera) foraging on the mānuka or tea tree (Leptospermum scoparium) which grows uncultivated throughout New Zealand and southeastern Australia.
Edit: I lowered the inw cactus from 0.5 to 0.3 after feedback.
Kia ora whānau, looks great!
This is tasty, really tasty. It didn't steep as I just mixed it, but it is really good.
Need more time, I am currently vaping rather hot at 100 watts. But I really like it. I taste Dragonfruit, Pear and Cactus as the dominant flavors. But it is really balanced, rather sweet and juicy. No throat hit at all.
I will come back later when I vaped more.
edit: yes there is also a bit of Kiwi. The honey, I think, adds something but you would not know it's there without having the recipe.
edit2: I will let it steep now. For me it is (without steeping) too much cactus. I guess it should be toned down to 0.25 or maybe it settles after a steep.
edit3: could not let it sit, had to vape more. It's really good, leave the cactus as is :) I love it.
edit4: now after a few days of steeping, I get they honey too.
Thanks man, this tastes great on the knuckle test! Going to give it a week for the cactus to settle though. I already had a bottle of 10% FA Honey mixed up so hitting that 0.1% was cake.
I'm also eyeing up my empty bottle of subLIME bar and realizing that I haven't had any since xmas. That stuff was awesome.
great write up, you know what your doing. I just lack inw pear, I have tfa pear, don't think I've used it yet. Honey don't have, I'll have to get my order together. look what you did, making me buy more flavors, lol. I'm going to have to read about fa honey. thanks for the recipe.
Any thoughts on inw pear vs fa pear?
I like adding fa pear to fruit mixes around 1% to add some sweetness and juiciness. To me it's a lighter flavor but a good one that is more complimentary. Inw pear pushes through the mix a bit more and to me it's akin to fa pear on steroids. Very forward and delicious
Are you in nz bro? This sounds bloody good!
This is great recipe! Although i used FA marshmallow at 0,75% instead of honey.
This sounds really good! I have to order the honey. I was reading about FA honey and a lot of people said they dilute theirs down. One person said they added one drop to a 30ml mix and it took over. Did you dilute yours at all? I will mix this as soon as I get the honey in, and will let you know what I think.
