Hi all. I'm interested in vaping flavourless juice for various reasons. The only way I'd be able to do this is to buy a PG+VG+Nic kit and make it myself. Has anyone tried flavourless? What's it like?
LiquidBarn has 50ml of premixed 80/20 VG/PG/Nic for $2.99 or $7.99 for 500ml.

It would be cheaper in the long run to buy stuff separately but this is a good deal if you’re just looking to try it out to see if you like it.
The LiquidBarn Basic eliquid is what I started using for all my DIY and never looked back. I did vape it once with no flavor and it was actually good. I still prefer flavoring it, but if flavors got banned I think I would still keep of cigs with a flavorless bottle.
Hear of many people who just vape nic and pg+VG. Hear the coils last foooorreeevvvveeerrrr
Yeah that's one of my reasons for wanting to do it, currently mine last four days at best!
You don't burn off the crap when changing wicks and reuse the coils?
I feel like when people talk about how long "coils" last what they mean is the cotton but since they use a tank system cotton and coil means the same in there mind. On my RDA the coils last until i break a leg while changing the cotton and that hardly ever happens. Cotton lasts about 3 days of heavy vaping with an RDA.
Hiya, like /u/Paint-Jobber typed, I do 100% VG with a 6% Nic. It is basically slightly sweet. My coils last about a month, but if I am not at a customer's office, I pretty much chain vape. And like Paint, I buy a few things online or locally and dilute it. Plus, I mix a few things myself, but I make them half or quarter strength.
For me it is all about the hot smoke/vape and the nicotine; I don't care one way or the other about the flavor.
Ok. Ok. Ok. It is probably all about programmed rote behavior, but I was trying to cut myself some slack.
It's not terribly uncommon; it's super light, slightly sweet taste.
That's good news!
I've seen a few people around here that it's all they vape, you don't really get tired of the flavor, can't really get vapor's tounge, easy to mix up, and doesn't leave any of the artificial smell lingering around. I'd say if you're interested in it, give it a shot.
Flavorless is pretty great if you have good nicotine. As others have noted, it's slightly sweet and neutral. If you have bad nicotine it tastes peppery, burnt and kind of acidic.
I can also confirm that no flavoring or very light flavoring makes coils last forever. I mix my own clean, lightly flavored juice and my coils last about a month with heavy use.
Flavorings are probably the riskiest part of e-cigs, too, chemically speaking. While it's still less harmful than smoking, vaping flavorless would be safer than flavored.
I vape 70/30 VG/PG at 3% without flavors. Been rolling like this for a few months and I kind of love it. Fringe benefit: my wife no longer walks into a room and accuses me of raping a skittle and/or cinnamon roll.
straight vg is slightly sweet and relatively tasteless
Could I vape straight VG and not even bother mixing in some PG? (RDA 2 claptons, 0.41 ohm, 50w)
Myself and a friend just started experimenting with this this week. I mixed us 80/20 PG/VG plus nicotine since that's what the non-DIY juices we were using were. I found that I'm happy diluting my non-DIY juice up to 50% with the flavourless. My friend just jumped ship to totally flavourless and is happy with it. I agree with people that it's sweet and pretty 'nothing'.
VG tastes like that white stick they give you with a bag of Fun Dip candy. It basically tastes like sugar syrup but very mild if that makes sense. For me personally, PG adds a bitter taste that can overwhelm the slight sweetness so I'll use just a bit of flavor, literally 1-2% of just about anything, tfa strawberry ripe being my favorite. Bad nicotine can also stand out more easily in flavorless so make sure you don't let it oxidize. I'm also on the I don't really care about flavor boat and my coils last a real long time.
Take the time to source the best VG you can. Mine was 99.5% organic coconut derived from a place in QC. There is a huge difference.
Then some nic and you're set.
You can always use that as a base later for adding a bit of flavour. DIY. Maybe supply friends, family or coworkers etc.
Edit: fairly certain this is the place. That pail lasts forever lol....

A related question: does anyone make flavorless 18-24mg salts?
I did and think unflavored salts are the only way to go. its like I read enough studies about vaping nicotine, so why would I vape another ingredient thats not even psychoactive and up my hypochondria just for flavor, plus Salts hits you just like a real cigarette.
Nicotine turns from a fun stimulant into a monkey on my back too quick so I dont use it often, but every now and then I boot up the stupid juul I have now and remember the glory days of mixing my own unflavored, and then every now and then Ill take a rip of dhoka out of my one hitter and let the taste and feeling blast me with years of cigarette memories. Nicotine def wired itself prertty goddam tight into my brain haha.
VG tastes thick and very slightly sweet in a syrup sort of way. PG by itself tastes kinda bitter and watery. Nicotine, the stronger the concentration and /or lower quality and /or older it is tastes like pepper.
100% vg with a small amount of fresh / good quality nicotine is not bad to vape. Obviously you'll need PG if your setup can't wick 100% vg well. Depends on what you're vaping with. Still get a satisfying hit feeling, mild sweetness. PG is not so great to vape in my opinion without flavors in it. PG does seem to bring out OTHER flavors more though whereas VG mutes them so I am a fan of PG when mixing , but not by itself.
You will have no qualms about vaping decent vg and lower concentrations of good quality nic. You will get bored of it quick though and start to miss your old favorites.
I did it for a while as I developed issues with vaping. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to matter what I vape, vaping is just causing me inner ear / tinnitus issues and throat /lung issues even with just plain PG or VG with nothing else in it. Oh well. I suspect I've become allergic to both PG and VG or maybe vapor itself just doesn't agree with me for some reason. It's become quite drastic and unpleasant though to vape. :(
Maybe go see a doctor about that you could have a long term low grade respiratory infection.
Oh I don't mean i have it all the time, I mean it's an immediate reaction to vaping. Within 10 minutes of vaping my ears are ringing, I develop weird sore spots in my throat that take a day to go away, sinuses start to drip, throat feels constricted, nose plugs up, eyes water, etc. It seems like an allergic reaction sort of deal. :-( life decided I am not allowed to vape anymore for me. lol.
Its great! I just started doing this a few weeks back and I have to say: I won’t go back anytime soon!
I use 60/40 VG/PG with a bit of menthol at 6mg. I like less dense clouds (especially in public..) and the menthol is great at diminishing the harsher throat hit from the higher PG content.
Tastes like..well slightly sweet nothing. Smell is practically nonexistent, at best a tiny bit fog-machine and menthol. But nothing compared to the whole candyshop in my pocket from before!
My main motivations were a) the taste doesn’t interfere with either coffee or beer, which others always did and b) the smell! I personally didn’t really notice it so much but my SO couldn’t stand it at all.
Also my cotton/coils last much longer! I have been through about 50ml and neither the coil nor the cotton show ANY sign of gunking up!
So.. I can recommend it! Try it, at the worst you have some base for other flavors!
