Cooling agent
submitted over 7 years ago by superkneegahbros

Hi,

I'm fairly new to DIY but have made 2-3 batches so far. I bought some nic from HiLIQ and in the same order I got a 10ml bottle of cooling agent for $9.99 USD.

I really like it but I've now run out of that and have seen some other cheaper options online, but I am wondering what is the closest thing I can get to the HiLIQ cooling agent from another brand. I am not a fan of menthol so want to stick with something that is nice and cool but without the menthol twang.

I'm based in Australia but there's quite a few companies here that import various branded cooling agents from the US in bulk and divide them up into smaller bottles.

The HiLIQ one is just far too expensive IMO, so wanting to buy something locally that won't cost me an arm and a leg in shipping.

Any recommendations would be appreciated, thanks!

You want WS-23, cooling without flavor.

That shits ICY af. I licked a drop off of the back of my hand. My whole mouth was in freeze mode. I even got an ice cream headache lol.

I tried it in my Grack Juice and it's super chill. I prefer my good ol' Koolada in my Grack. I think it's because I got used to it for so long, I didn't like the change.

Look for a flavour concentrate called Koolada (TFA). It should do the job.

If it wasn’t menthol I’d expect it was either ws-3(tfa koolada) ws-5 or ws-23 or a combination of

Thanks for the responses folks. I just called a local vape company and asked how similar their cooling agent was to the HiLIQ cooling agent, and to my surprise they said is the actual same product which they buy in bulk from HiLIQ and re-bottle.

$9.99 USD for 10ml at HiLIQ

$3.76 USD for 10ml of exactly the same product here, plus around $7 USD shipping.

I've got 4x 10ml bottles on the way, should last me quite a while.

So for now I'm completely sorted.

Looking at their website and there recommendations I’d say it’s more likely to be ws-3

The “WS” cooling agents are good stuff. BTW - “WS” stands for Wilkinson Sword. They were originally created for aftershave.

any notes on FA Polar Blast? I like using it but have never solo tested it and I usually use it 1:1 with koolada or WS-23

I like polar blast but it can be weird, The inhale isn't cool at all to me and I don't feel the cooling until the exhale but I prefer it to Koolada because it doesn't have any taste associated with it. I prefer it to ws-23 because ws-23 does the opposite for me where all the cooling seems to be on the inhale. I often will layer both polar blast and ws-23 to get cooling on both inhale and exhale.

FYI - FA Polar Blast is koolada, with menthyl lactate added.

yup, I know, but it tastes different. I sometimes get a flavor with just koolada.

You can try out Koolada. Nice and cool at a lower % with no funky taste. I suggest just buying the concentrate, but another option is to buy koolada powder and mix it with PG yourself.. Too much work for me lol.
