As always, the purpose of this thread is to gather the community to explore a flavor and its many uses. And it's also to have FUN!
Post recipes containing this week's Flavor of the Week, as the star or in a supporting role, with or without development notes. Talk about other people's recipes that use it. Compare and contrast different manufacturers' versions of the FOTW. Ask for help using that flavor in general or to achieve something specific, offer advice, brainstorm ideas, consider substitutions, suggest pairings... really anything at all as long as it's on topic.

FLV Sweet Coconut is absolutely where it's at. All the other coconuts taste to me like coconut flavoring, whereas FLV's actually tastes like coconut, specifically cocada, which is something I've been trying to reproduce for a long time.
I've never had cocada, but I'd definitely reach for the FLV Sweet Coconut if I wanted to try to recreate this stuff.
As the mod of another moderately-sized subreddit with a lot of action right now, you are fabulously well organized. Please stop raising expectations.
FLV Coconut and Sweet Coconut are the TRUTH. Use sparingly. Very strong.
I don't have these flavs - will be adding to next order. What sort of %'s do you recommend? Also what ratio do you normally blend these two at?
Not Skika but I suggest using FLV Coconut at 0.1 to 0.5% depending on what you're using it for. It's super strong and super rich and buttery.
I don't find FLV Sweet Coconut to be all that strong really, compared to other coconuts. It's yummy though. Use at 1 to 2%.
FLV Sweet Coconut & FA Coconut is by far the best mixture.
I have to say that the recipe that circulated last year (ahh I can't remember who but I'll try and find who should get credit) made me buy FLV sweet coco and that stuff is amazing!
Very potent and after aging it certainly comes into its own.
Ah finally found it. /u/HashSlingingSlashur/ https://www.reddit.com/r/DIY_eJuice/comments/68hj99/z/dh0mhuf
I don't know what's the matter with me but I mixed Leche De Coco and it tastes like semen smells.
I've found that CAP coconut with strawberry ripe and sweet strawberry gives a sort of cinnamon taste. Actually quite nice when paired with a dominant fruit like pineapple.
Cap doesn't get enough love. I like it for the body it can bring. It must be high in that compound that can make coconut creamy. If used sub-1% it lends more cream than coconut.
Since you like it with strawberry, here is something I mix once in a while:
1.5% Cap Coconut
3% FA Strawberry
2% FA Watermelon
Pretty much any watermelon/strawberry combo is good, and it really gets better after a week.
Kinda working on a coconut RY4 for mixers club right now. Intent was to use TFA Coconut Extra, but that one didn’t make it in to v2, which used INW Coconut and INW Cocopilada. There has been no v3 yet since I leave for work at 4 and get home at 6 and feel like seeing my family a little bit. Also might not be a 3 because I’m just kind of over RY4.
Other than that, I’ve got American Politics with a dash of Coconut Extra. I liked the way the coconut and Kentucky Bourbon played together in a Castle Long clone I tried out, so I stole that part. Now that I’m looking at it, I might fiddle around with that recipe some more.
That American Politics looks really good, as best I can tell without having two of the ingredients.
Do you have the INW Coconut pre- or post-reformulation, or do you know?
I have no idea. /u/LimeDrive sent me some a while back, so perhaps he knows. Was it better before?
I have a hard time tasting coconut. It's similar to non-strawberry tasters, I'm guessing. I either get sun tan lotion (from some) or nothing at all (mostly). INW Coconut Cookies is a really pleasant flavor. I can actually taste it, and it's really good.
I have this same problem, thanks for the recommendation!
Wow I have never heard of a coconut non-taster and here are two of you.
My SO has suggested that I've just never eaten an actual coconut which is true so one possibility. But idk what's wrong with my taste because it's very hard to get most fruits to come out in all my recipes. Maybe I should single flavor test everything again..
At first I bought TPA Coconut Extra for a Pina Colada juice, and with Golden Pineapple it's simply delicious. But I really like to mix one fruity flavour with coconut hint, most obvious strawberry with coconut, dragonfruit with coconut, but right now blueberry and coco is doing pretty good job at getting into my atomizer from all bottles I have
Am I crazy, or is there a reason for not trying banana-coconut? They'd seem the much more normal pairing... (No, I haven't gotten around to trying it yet either... but it's on the list of future mixes...)
No reason I can think of. Banana colada has been on my to-do list forever and I've just never gotten around to it. Banana, coconut, pineapple, and rum? GET IN MY FACEHOLE
I was actually thinking more along the line of a smoothie... banana, coconut, rum, fresh cream (or yogurt - or better yet, chocolate cream), and maybe creme de menthe. Possibly some Irish Cream. Yeah, so my idea of a smoothie isn't the typical health nut version... but who wants to vape kale and oatmeal? Or drink it, for that matter?
Mate it would be fantastically appreciated if you could squeeze out a banana colada. I've been turned off banana vapes as all mine turn out runty asf, which sucks cuz when i got into vaping, banana was what i was most keen on. My first! Now the best i can do is hide it in a recipe as a mixer. I want a realistic banana, deep and rich and earthy and banana'y, with not a hint of runt. No runt!!
If you're big into fruits this should work with a lot of variety.

I picked up FA's coconut a few weeks ago but soon realized that TFA's coconut sweet goes hand in hand so of course another order had to be placed.
That's the damn rabbit hole of flavors because obviously I need FLV's too. It's just plain silly to only have Raspberry sweet and you go into Pokemon mode to collect them all considering FA is better than TFA's version, but has nothing because a small % of INW's Raspberry is the greatest thing ever made besides ws-23. I know Wayne and a lot of people swear by Lorann's Raspberry.
I'm currently on a blue raspberry kick so I got the very well received SC Blue Raz, WF Sour Blue Raspberry, Caps Blue Ras cotton candy, and of course Blue Raspberry Slush Flavor. I have LB's blue raspberry but we won't speak of that along your standard blue berries and you would get mocked by fellow DIY people if you didn't have your standard flv boysen, wild melon, harvest berry, bilberry. I'm a rebel though and don't have black current.
I read that you weren't the biggest fan of the slush which at the time the only negative thing I've ever seen against the massive hype behind it but I think you may be on to something that it's too damn sweet. I'm going to mix the strap-on version that you actually liked to see it's potential to play along with others because I'm not convinced it's a primary flavor and just a 1% here for a sweet blueberry kick. With slush 10% which people talk about is dead wrong and it's not a shake and vape either. I'll cut it to 6% and let it steep a week and see how that works but with Wayne making a blue raspberry live mix recently he used LA's raspberry so I paired that with the slush and it tastes like trash. Word is WF Sour blue is better anyways. But thanks to the rabbit hole I now can re-do it all over again with the 4 different raspberry's.
After that of course the same has to be done with the blue raz's when all that work is done, because you will never be 100% content you know some of the blue raz's together will work and the wheel keeps on turning.
I don't even feel like making my own and just copy off of ATF because I don't get AF anymore. However now with a lot of new companies coming out and people branching out past tfa/cap/fa/flv/inw now it's getting so hard to have 1:1 of any recipe now and mixers will say no subs either because Jungle's Watermelon is the best thing ever, well after PUR that is to others.
I need to read the notes here only and not on elr or man up because this shit is so f'n hard it's not even funny to make an excellent juice. Slush 4% - Sour Blue 2% - FA Rasp 1% or INW Rasp .25% - .75% WS-23. ---- In 2 other bottles add .25% of blue rasp cotton for a non EM sweet kick and in another maybe FA'S Lemon Sicily.
All that shit makes sense in my head but I bet if I mix that up it will be horrible. I should just admit that I suck along with others because I'm working through ATF's popular recipes and the only two that stuck out, even though in 5+ years of hating creams/custards and only fruits and menthol/mint but only loved Milk of the Poppy and ID10's version of God's Milk. Edit: Galaxy Grape I found good as well.
My eyes are now open now and proof of how evil sweetener is. I never vaped creams or desserts because they would literally made me sick to the point where I felt like making myself throw up along with getting crazy dehydrated. That was back to the Vamo + Taifun GT 2, Lemo days and now I'm blasting these bakery non-em with clapton coils at 30 watts on a Hadaly/Wasp RDA.
Rant Over.
I am just starting to make some recipe's, I tried recreating a Milk/Coconut hot drink from MC'd called Coco Steamer for my SO.
I was inspired by /u/ID10-T s Coconut Custard and /u/HashSlingingSlashur s Coco de Leche, but did not have all the flavors on hand at the time to mix one of those.
It turned out to be my absolute favorite of my (mostly mediocre) self-made recipe's.
Critique and feedback is very welcome, but don't shred me to pieces as I am just learning this wonderful trade.
This is the "v2" of many more to come:
Coconut (FA) @ 1%
Coconut Extra (TPA) @ 1,7 %
Sweet Coconut (Flavorah) @ 2%
Dairy Milk (TPA) @ 1%
Vanilla Custard v1 (CAP) @ 1%
Super Sweet (CAP) @ 0,25 (SO wanted it sweeter, was DX sweet cream before that)
Maybe someone enjoys.
Edit: format
Not my coconut custard. You mean ChrisDVR's?
My bad. You kindly recommend it to me in a "recipe for my flavors" thread a while ago so I thought it was yours. I can post the recipe when I get my laptop back where I saved it on.
Couple of words about PUR Fresh Coconut: it’s freakishly authentic. It is the fresh coconut flesh. With subdue sweetness, moisture and slight soap note (which belongs to a fresh coconut indeed). But because of its authenticity (god I wonder if I wrote that word right) it’s hard to work with. It resembles me thai/vietnamese desserts based on fresh coconut and honey.
I haven't really had good luck with coconut. Sometimes at 1% it completely takes over a juice and then at 0.5% there's nothing there.
Which ones have you tried?
I mixed a slightly modified Tropical Eggnog (Coquito) a couple of days ago. I used Kentucky Bourbon instead of the Jamaica Special, and CAP VCV1 instead of the Eggnog, as that's what I have on hand.
I have to say that even only with a day's steep this tasted pretty damn good, and I'd recommend anyone wanting a creamy, smooth coconut recipe to check it out. If you don't like the booze element, I'm fairly confident that you could replace the Jamaica Special with your favourite fruit/nut and it would work just as well. Solid coconut cream base.
That recipe looks really good. I like getting the most out of coconuts and avoiding their issues by mixing them together. It takes some trial and error to get right because what works for one mix might not for another, but is so good when it gets dialed in.
