99Juices now supports mixing by weight
submitted over 7 years ago by seanchaotic

Hi everybody,

I launched a side project on here over 4 years ago that I called 99Juices (https://www.reddit.com/r/DIY_eJuice/comments/1uzorg/i_built_a_new_recipe_site_over_christmas_break/). I have kept the site going all this time and a lot of people have enjoyed it. Never made a dime off of it but I keep it around because I think it's cool.

I had some free time so I did some work on it over the past few months. The site now supports private recipes, remixing other public recipes, setting PG/VG ratios, and a whole bunch of other cool stuff.

Would love some feedback from the DIY community! You can check out the new feature on this page. I'm only linking to this one because it's a popular recipe:

I've came across your site a few times while googling clone recipes and really like the layout, works great on mobile. I just went ahead and made an account but I cannot figure out how to create a recipe. Am I missing something glaringly obvious? I really like how the calculator is laid out when mixing recipes on there but I'd like to add my own too.

Once you sign up, you hit the "New Recipe" button in the top bar. It doesn't show up when you're not logged in right now which is something I want to improve

Where abouts in the top bar should it be? I checked under Account and Recipes but no luck. Here's a screenshot. Looked around in my recipe book also but couldn't find anything there. I'm using Chrome on iOS if it matters.

Oh shoot you're on mobile where it's hidden. The calculator doesn't really work on mobile very well so I hid it. You can access it here: https://www.99juices.com/recipes/create/

Next up I want to make it work on mobile better

just a minor technical point . . .

Where you input the VG/PG target ratio and for nic base - it would be nice if changing one side auto-magically made the other adjust to equal a total of 100%.

edit - playing with it some more - it seem to depend on whether I type a number in or use the up/down arrows. So sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.

Shoot yeah it should do that. If you type it works but if you use the arrows in the UI it doesn't. Will fix that!

I stumbled on this site a while back. The "Recipe Book" feature is super cool. Being able to put all your flavors in and search based on that criteria is a really badass idea. Thanks for doing this for the community!
