Citrus flavors are going to going to gunk up your coils faster... did u add sweetener? That’s another culprit.

One of my favorite mixes (it's a Purple Lemonade) uses similar ingredients, only INW Grapes (which is insanely sweet) instead of those berries. Check TFA's ingredient listings for those two, see what the sucralose content is like. I still suspect INW Grapes uses at least as much... and what I make hasn't killed any coils yet...

It depends. The nic may not be properly mixed yet (likelier if you use VG based nic) or it may have had a Hotspot in your source nic (again likelier with VG nic) or you may have gotten a higher concentration of nic than you believe (this has happened, but is relatively rare). Or the nic is oxidized and tastes harsher.

You said shocked it? Does that mean you added heat to it? If so, that can have an affect on your nic. Try the same recipe w/o shocking, just put the lid on and let it be in a cool dark place if u can and see if that helps because not all nicotine’s the same and/ or can stand up to that kind of treatment. Maybe, you have a lower quality nic, idk. Either way, this sub doesn’t generally support that type of steep after mixing, we prefer to just shake, sit and wait...;)

First of all, I’ll let the tobacco specialists help you w the tobaccos. Second, for the fruits and as a general rule please pick out some recipes you would like to mix and then buy your flavors that way instead of what sounds good and you’ll save yourself a whole bunch of money. Then come back after you’ve researched the best of those particular flavors that maybe you want to buy more than one brand of the flavor for layering or something and ask for help about specific flavors that way. Or, I believe in the side post there are fav single flavors, or it was in a post recently for sure, and of course go to elr and Alf and search that way....;)

Actually, FLV has good tobacco (Kentucky and Cured, and Virginia) but INW and HS tobacco shouldn't be overlooked. Depending on where you are ordering from, and if you already have INW DNB and INW Black for pipe, /u/chemicalburnvictim can tell you what you need in tobacco.

For blueberry, you want FW Blueberry, TFA Blueberry Extra and FA Bilberry. For raspberry, TFA raspberry sweet and inw raspberry. For pomegranate... FA Pomegranate and TFA Pomegranate Deluxe. (I also need to test the GL Pomegranate I have, to see if it's worthwhile.) For lime, FA lime tahity (both versions), and maybe TFA Key Lime. Bestglycol has their own pineapple that is supposed to be excellent. (I don't use pineapple much, sorry). The best peach is the one not used, IMABCO. Also never found a decent melon, although I haven't really looked a lot.

BTW, if you can find INW smoked plum, it's supposed to be really good to bridge fruits and tobacco, as it appears to dry out fruits. I'll be testing that if I ever get a hold of some... there's a tobacco I really want to make work with some apple cider.

INW, with a few exceptions, is very concentrated. 1% max for quite a few flavors isn't uncommon. As usual, it depends on which flavor you're using.

FA Lemon Sicily is almost as strong as INW Lemon Mix. Not quite, tho.

Edit: Duh, forgot to answer your question. Kentucky and Red Burley can definitely work with some fruits. I use Native as a sub for Cured most of the time, so either of those will also work with them.

The best tobacco flavor for fruits would depend on the fruit. Apple and FE Hongtashan should be a good mix. Fig gets used a lot with various tobacco. If you want to use a citrus, ask /u/chemicalburnvictim which tobacco to use, I know he's mentioned that there's one that is slightly citrusish. You might make a banana or coconut work with Red Burley.

And now I'm thinking of a Black Currant for Pipe.. must try. Once I get smoked plum to add to those two...

I have a breeze and I put my normal mixes in it... 70/30 3-5 mg nic and it works just fine. Don’t worry about getting nic salts and for sure don’t worry about trying to make them lol...

There's a diy recipe for creating nic salt. If you can get some USP citric acid you could try that...

When I smoked, if I got a bad cold I'd switch to menthol. The vaping equivalent is 3% INW eucalyptus with mint.

If my hit is dry, but not nasty, i'll just redrip/squonk and keep going. If its STILL bad after that, then yea, its time to rewick.

TFA Western, most likely, with some FLV Red Burley and FLV Classic Cigarette would be my guess. And a touch of INW DNB. Possibly FLV cured. Or maybe I'm over thinking it and it's just Western and CC.

I tasted that once, and agree it is really good. The closest that I have tried would have to be FLV Red Burley. Possibly FLV Cured. Likely some INW DNB added.

But take this at face value, there are tons of tobaccos that I haven't tried.

TFA Cherry Extract doesn't taste like cough syrup. Try using that for most of the cherry flavor and add just a tiny amount of that INW Cherry to try to get the taste you want without the cough syrup. You have a better shot with INW Cherries than with INW Cherry, though.

Your percentages are too high and Blueberry Candy is not that great of a flavor.

Look at the formatting for others’ posted recipes. The way yours is typed out makes it very difficult to read.

You can try that mix now, just don’t get your hopes up. Also stick to 10 ml batches for things you’ve never mixed before. TPA Pineapple at 11% is probably going to be very harsh.

It was talked about on a noted episode, I forget which of the mixers tested it but if I'm not mistaken /u/ID10-T would be able to give you a bit of a rundown on it. All I can remember is that it doesn't taste like a cucumber but it's more like some kind of tropical fruit. I don't think they said it was bad either, so that might be promising. I'm pretty sure it was on the exotic fruit noted episode (on diy or die channel on YouTube)

...my memory could also be failing me, and I may be confusing two concentrates with weird names. Hopefully that's not the case.

WF African Horned Cucumber 2% - Single flavor cucumbermeloncitrus? It’s really not a cucumber flavor, it’s a fruit flavor, in fact the African Horned Cucumber is also known as African Horned Melon. I've seen the actual African horned cucumber described as tasting like banana and passionfruit or like banana, cucumber, and lime.. The citrus in this WF one really leans more toward grapefruit to me. That tropical flavor does sort of hint at passionfruit, but overall reminds me a lot of FLV Pink Guava. There is something banana like about it but more than banana, it tastes like mixed melon (watermelon and FLV Wild Melon come to mind), with a tiny little bit of cucumber snuck in there, like CAP Cucumber. Very unique and delicious, both sweet and tangy.

Some people worry about those things but I'd wager the silent majority don't. I mean, I'm not gonna brag about how I don't wash new bottles but I assume most people aren't bathing their chinese plastic before use and that's probably more concerning than whatever residue your municipal water is leaving behind.

Can always grab a jug of a distilled water to wash your shit in, but I've never really worried too much about it.

Hey, /u/juthinc is correct, it is best to order everything seperately. Just like any hobby. However, the kit at nicriver is not a bad way to start. Everything you need in one stop.

To help you pick your flavors, first pick some recipes with POSITIVE feedback (there are some real turds floating around). Then order based on those. The archives here and the many recipes at alltheflavors.com are some of the best places to search. At ATF you can sort by "hottest" , "most mixed", etc.

The syringes and few bottles in the kit will get you started. You can never have enough bottles tho, and mixing by weight is much easier for most folks.

The sidebar here is chock full of great info, come back to this thread for clarification.

Just order 100mg/ml PG Nic, some VG, and a bunch of flavors. And a scale and bottles. That's all you need.

Here’s my stance on popcorn lung and vaping. Not all flavors contain diacetyl for starters. Secondly for the flavors that do contain it - cigarettes contain nearly 100x more. There has yet to be a case for smoking causing popcorn lung.

Is vaping better than smoking? Yes. Is it entirely healthy? We don’t entirely know for sure yet. But popcorn lung was basically just fear mongering.

The truth is, nobody knows how safe or unsafe vaping is. We all tell ourselves that it's safe, because it must be... Right? It's got to be better than smoking.

But we don't know. It hasn't been around long enough and hasn't been studied enough for anyone to give you a sure answer.

I know anecdotally that I feel healthier since replacing tobacco with vaping, but I still feel tightness of the lungs when I exert myself, and I'm not kidding myself that it's any good for me. Just probably healthier than cigarettes.

In theory. You need to vape undiluted TFA Butter concentrate. Chain vape it on a Smok Elder God Beast tank so you go through 100ml every day, at least. In twenty or so years, it should make you quite ill. You'll be wishing for death to come soon for most of that time, tho, since it would be so disgusting.

Or, to bout it another way - you inhaled more DAAP while smoking than you ever would vaping anything that doesn't taste hideously bad. If smoking doesn't cause popcorn lung (and nothing has, except breathing in aerosolized butter flavoring on every breath taken for a eight hour shift, day after day for years - hence the name "popcorn lung") then vaping won't.

Until the tobacco guru weighs in, I suspect that the CAP tobacco flavors recently reviewed may be useful, blended with FLV Classic Cigarette and a bit of INW DNB. The amounts for a pod style recipe... not a clue. More than normal juice, maybe increase each by a fifth?

Well, if you're blowing large clouds in the general discussion of the air intakes, there could be issues. Vapor residue is somewhat sticky... dust can easily build up on surfaces coated in it. Which means the inside 9f the laptop. However, so long as you regularly ensure that you prevent any such buildup, you should be ok.

+1 u/juthinc I'm pretty sure that's the issue with my laptop. I haven't heard the fan turn on in a couple years and sometimes the computer just plain freezes for 2-10minutes. No preventative measures were taken and the laptop pretty well stays in the fog the last four years.

They're originally designed for use in food, candy, beverages, etc. Spice up your coffee.

They seem to work well in coffee, ive done that a few times with great results. It kinda depends which concentrate you have though, if it's a cream or vanilla for example - it would prob would aweosme in coffee. If it's a fruit maybe try adding it to sparkling water or ice creams or something like that. . Maybe yogurt?

As long as it's USP/EP/BP grade, the difference is negligible. Some report a slight difference between palm, soy and coconut derived VG, with palm being preferred, but you'd be hard pressed to tell them apart even vaping unflavored.

Storage and treatment matters though. Exposure to heat, oxygen, UV radiation, as well as improper storage containers or plain old age can spoil the liquids. Signs are discoloration, off taste or odor, or reduced viscosity. But you rarely hear reports of such findings, it's usually nicotine that is the major issue.

For 50 mg/ml using a 100 mg/ml source, half of the contents would come from the nic. So adding 100 ml of the nic to the 100 ml bottle of juice would turn it into 200 ml of 50 mg/ml juice.

For 30 ml juice, adding 30 ml nic turns it into 60 ml of 50 mg/ml.

Do note however that you're cutting the flavoring in half in the process and the PG/VG ratio is thrown off.

If you’re going to be using a 100mg/mL base with 0mg pre-made, you’ll essentially need to double the mL to get to 50mg/mL.

For instance: You have 0mg/100mL of juice. Adding 100 mL of 100mg/mL base yields 10,000mg of nicotine and 200 mL of liquid. 10,000/200= 50 mg/mL.

Adding 30mL of 100mg/mL base to 0mg/30mL liquid gives you 3,000mg/60mL, or 50mg/mL.

Use the same mL of base as your 0mg pre-made juice.

Just for the record you absolutely do not need nic salts for the breeze. Just regular 30/70, 20/80, 50/50 whatever works just fine and I use 3-5mg nic and it’s very strong.

There's a very nice looking recipe featuring Connecticut Shade in this month's recipe thread, you could mix that if you have the others. And generally I give tobacco flavors a month to steep.

4% RY and .75% Red Burley. My go to for a tobacco heavy RY mix is Cardinal. This will get close to that.

As he mentions in the notes, TFA is similiar to Holy Grail, it just has a slight harshness in comparison. And personally I really like the caramel notes in HG.

As far as steep times, FLV's tobaccos are good in just a couple days, but tend to fade significantly after 2-3 weeks. So I don't make more than I will use in that time.

God damn work has me missing all the interesting questions on here lately. The Red Burley pairing has been discussed, so I’ll shoot something else out.

Tatanka has some similar qualities to RY4D in my opinion, but it’s better. So I’d do something like:

3.5% RY4 Double

.3% Connecticut

2% Tatanka

That should give you a pretty decent RY4 type of flavor with a hint of some coffee. I think I’ll mix that up when I get home. Probably throw 1.5% INW Shisha Vanilla in there too just ‘cause.

6 months to a year depending on what they are and how they are stored.

Yes. Add straight VG. Any equal amount to your juice will give you 3mg/ml 75:25. It will, however, have half the flavor. If you want to maintain flavor, order some 0mg juice of the same flavor. Mix it 1:1 with what you have for 3mg.

What base were you using? Maybe that is part of it? Also, were you able to source pure acids, or is it possible they had been adulterated with anti-clumping agents? Lastly, if you're using euros, you should be able to buy nic salt from somewhere in europe, not just your own country. You may need to contact chemnovatic directly to see if they sell a nic salt base?

Oh, and the FS RY4 should be useful solo. You could mix in some marshmallow to thicken it a touch, but remember to steep for two months, so the vomit flavor fades a touch. And go forth and buy V2/DX flavors no more.
