I just discovered through a couple non diy bottles(mitten vapors 'cast-a-way' and blue dot 'convicted melons', their only similarity is honeydew) that I love honeydew in Vapes. Both of those flavors are my favorite I've ever tried and I really want to incorporate it into a few of my recipes.
I saw tfa honeydew is highly recommended as the best honeydew and noticed that they have 2 variants. Has anyone here tried both and have a recommendation one way or the other?
I looked at reviews for each, honeydew original looks for natural but contains alcohol and honeydew 2 appears to be more concentrated. I found a review stating that the exhale of version 2 tasted like plastic and another stating to water version 2 down with PG to 25% strength then only use 1% of the diluted mix, so don't know if the first just used too much.
Any insight into utilizing this delicious flavor would be appreciated.
TFA Honeydew 2 was formulated to remove something flammable from what I understand? The entire formula may have changed though. I don’t believe V2 is well liked over V1.
Having said that, I don’t even like V1. JF Honeydew Melon is the only Honeydew for me.
I will totally look into jf honeydew, any recommend supplier? I was going through nic river, but they don't carry that brand.
ecig express are the only ones who carry that brand. To make it worth your while, get JF Yellow Cake, Lemon Juicy, Honey Peach, Sweet Strawberry and Fuji if you want.
Two of my favorite vendors also carry Jungle Flavors. They're rebranded here and Chef's also carries a small selection. Unfortunately, as far as I know, ECX is still the only option for that super delicious JF Honeydew.
I've found JF Honeydew the best, personally. MF is pretty good too but not so much that I'd say it's worth the price. Not actually a fan of the TFA version at all.
I might just have to get a sample of the tfa one, just to check it out. I'm pretty sure mitten vapors and blue dot use a lot of tfa flavors, so I was assuming one of those was the one I'm tasting. Any recommended supplier for jf?
Ecigexpress. They're the only US supplier for JF.
While it's difficult to say for sure since most commercial eliquid companies don't disclose their recipes, I think most of them are using a mix of manufacturers for flavors like most recipes you see here. Even the most expensive manufacturers of concentrates are still pretty cheap compared to the price of commercial ejuice, so I doubt it's worth it to try to cut costs by using cheaper brands.
I've been working on this Cantaloupe Agua Fresca 🍈🍹 you might like. It uses the original TFA Honeydew, along with several other melons. I think it provides a pretty good example of using TFA Honeydew as a top note with other melon flavorings to round out a full flavor profile.
Give it a shot if you've got the flavorings!
Well look who stumbled in... is it true, is this really fizzmustard??
In addition to the other melons suggested, I recommend trying it with a watermelon you like or stuff like FA Fuji Apple, CAP Jelly Candy and INW Cactus. TFA Honeydew can be a little funky, but I think it's tasty when mixed with other fun stuff.
I was going to do a recipe with peach and grape, one with strawberry and dragon fruit, and add a little bit to my watermelon candy to help round it out.
Sounds like the consensus is jf honeydew. I ordered samples of the tfa ones and flavor revolution(had great reviews too) and I'll start below 1% with those just by themselves in a 30ml to see if any are what I'm looking for to add in. If I don't like those I'll order a 30ml of the jf one.
I'm only starting with those samples since nic river had all the other flavors(inw grapefruit, tfa grape and inw peach) I really like as well. I love nic river and their customer service has gone above and beyond for me before. Wish they had jf as their prices are always among the lowest for everything I've wanted. I messaged them about stocking jf, I'll see what they say back.
I'm probably reading that wrong, but just in case- if you're trying out flavors I'd make like 5 or 10mL instead of 30. Don't want to waste any.
As for those flavor combinations, they all sound tasty and fun. It's tricky to get the %'s right, though. Be sure to check out the flavor reviews on the sidebar if you haven't already
No, you read right. Just the smallest bottle I have is 30ml. I guess I don't have to fill it all the way.
They do take a while to figure out. It already took me like 10 mixes to get my current recipes where I'm very happy with them. I'm expecting this to be about the same.
Did someone say Honeydew? This is my ADV, it's a Honey Pearry clone, recipe courtesy of ID10-T, https://alltheflavors.com/recipes/6666
I have stuck with original TPA honeydew when mixing this, it's great, haven't bothered to try any others, but I may do so based on some of the suggestions in this sub.
(Fyi I haven't tried any other honeydew except tfa honeydew, or those commercial juices you mentioned.) Tfa honeydew is very pungent even at 1% to me, one of those flavors you can taste in your atomizer well after you've stopped vaping it, but I enjoy it most times. I'm sure it's widely used commercially, so there's a good chance you've had it and liked it. I
