INW Black for Pipe is now in stock at Vapers Tek!
Obviously it sucks having to go to a site to only buy one concentrate that you want, so I figured I’d maybe shed some light on some other hidden gems and hard to find flavors that you can find at Vapers Tek so it’ll maybe make it a little better deal for you. I’ve also made some simple recipes just to give some ideas on how you can use some of these because a lot of them you won’t find a whole lot of information on.
INW Desert Voyager- sort of like an RY4 flavor, but leans more towards maple syrup than caramel. Pretty strong stuff, so start around 1%.
INW Tobacco “C”- A lighter, creamy type of tobacco. The “tobacco” aspect will need some help. A little hint of cocoa in there too. Not super strong, so start around 2-3%.
INW Falcon Eye- I get a lot of ginger from this. It’s a bit of a sweet ginger. I really like this one. I used it in my Autumn and Christmas recipes, and I think it works pretty well with those types of things. 1.5-2% to start.
INW Tobacco Symphony- Apparently this didn’t sell well enough for ECX, but it’s been one of my favorites for a while. It’s a bright and crisp nutty Tobacco. It almost feels salty. I’ve been asked a few times for a substitute for this in my clone of the Duke since ECX got rid of it. It’s at Vapers Tek and I begged them to not ever stop selling it. 2% to start.
INW Tobacco Absolute Oriental- They’ve got it! The one you could never find anywhere else to complete your INW Tobacco Absolute collection! At first I was a bit disappointed by this one compared to the other TA’s, but it grew on me. It’s definitely not a single flavor type of thing, but throw it in with some Turkish/Oriental tobaccos and it adds some nice authentic tobacco vibes. 1-1.5% should be good.
GF Arabian Nights- When I first tested this a while back, I didn’t like it because it had a fruity note to it. I’ve since found peace with fruits, and this one is actually pretty good. I get a soft Tobacco with a not too sweet fig note. It’s not really like the raisin/prune note in tobacco, but more like a less sweet FA Fresh Fig or FLV Fig. They suggest 4%, but I get good flavor DtL with 2.5%.
They also carry the Super Concentrates that every other place carries. They’ve got quite a few tobaccos in there that I haven’t seen other places, but from the ones I’ve tried, I don’t think there’s anything that blew me away. SC must haves for me are Cigar and Old Captain. Honorable mentions are Western, Cohiba, Turkish, Honey Flue Cured, and French Pipe.
Then there’s also their Chemnovatic nicotine that’s probably worth the visit by itself.
Some recipes to go along with the flavors above. Black for Pipe is going to be in just about all of them because I put it in just about everything except dessert tobaccos. All ingredients available at VT:
Black Sails
- GF Arabian Nights- 2.5%
- INW Am4a- .75%
- INW Tobacco C- 3%
- INW Black for Pipe- 1%
This is pretty much my Black Fig recipe with GF Arabian Nights in place of FLV Fig. I was a bit surprised how much the Arabian Nights tasted like it had a bit of FLV Fig in there. Your mileage may vary, but I vaped the original Black Fig next to single flavor Arabian Nights and it seemed pretty close. Less sweet, which might be a good thing.
Sweet Desert Symphony
- INW Shisha Vanilla- 1.5%
- INW Desert Voyager- 1.5%
- INW Tobacco Symphony- 1.5%
- INW Sweet King- 1%
This one is a fairly sweet, nutty dessert tobacco. It kind of flirts with RY4 and 555 styles.
Amphalcon
- INW Am4a- 1%
- INW Falcon Eye- 1.3%
- INW Black for Pipe- 1.5%
Limiting yourself to just one flavor house to make recipes can make you do some weird things. This one is weird, but also pretty damn good. Falcon Eye hittin’ you with a little of that sweet ginger, Am4a bringing in that strange complexity of maybe chocolate rum and dark fruit(?), and Black for Pipe with some smoky tobacco and deeeeeep down some hints of dark fruit. It’s strange, but I was a bit surprised at how good it turned out. Vapers Tek doesn’t seem to have INW Custard, but I added 1% of that to this and it made it pretty damn good.
Oriental Brigade
- INW Black for Pipe- 2%
- INW Tobacco Absolute Oriental- 1%
- INW Dirty Neutral Base- 1%
This is a take on my Brigade 2506 recipe with TA Oriental instead of TA Cuban Cigar. It’s less smoky and a tad sweeter, but it’s still pretty good. If you’re looking for a more authentic style of tobacco in this post, this would be the one.
Old West
- INW Black for Pipe- 1.8%
- SC Old Captain- 1%
- SC Western- .5%
This is a simplified take on my West of Paris recipe. SC Old Captain is the same as FE Captain FYI. I imagine SC Cohiba would be a suitable replacement for SC Western if you’d rather go with that one. Both have that leathery taste.
VT Duke
- SC China SC Tobacco- 3%
- INW Tobacco Symphony- 2%
- INW S’Camel (aka Dromedary)- 2%
- INW Caramel- 1.5%
I’m about 90% sure that SC China Tobacco is the same thing as FE Hongtashan. If it’s not exactly the same, it definitely is very close. This recipe isn’t exactly like my original clone of The Duke, but if you’re only trying to buy from one place, this is pretty close. Since VT doesn’t carry Acetyl Pyrazine, I went with the Pyrazine heavy S’Camel for a sub. It’s pretty good, but definitely better with some AP if you got it.
Simple RY4
- INW RY4- 2%
- INW Vanilla for Pipe- 2%
- INW Desert Voyager- 1.5%
As the creative name suggests, this is just a really simple RY4. INW RY4 is pretty decent and a nice change of pace from TFA RY4 Double. It’s fairly sweet and bright and probably more comparable to HS RY4 than the TFA. Vanilla for Pipe is a pretty solid vanilla flavor, but I don’t get a whole lot of anything I would consider “Pipe.” Desert Voyager is covered above, but it adds a bit of sweet complexity and density here.
These recipes are more to just get an idea of what you can do with some of the flavors. They didn’t undergo months of development and tweaking. Just didn’t want to suggest you buy a flavor and then have nothing to make without possibly having to go to two other places to get other things you need.
Thank you for posting all this, the Sweet Desert Symphony looks to be right up my alley!
Just dipping my toe into the tobacco pool, there’s a lot of good information here, and I’ve been looking at Black for Pipe for a good bit now.
Great jumping off point, very well done.
>Black for Pipe is going to be in ~~just about~~ all of them because I put it in ~~just about~~ everything ~~except dessert tobaccos~~.
You have a tattoo on your chest involving Black for Pipe, don't you?
In all seriousness tho... I hate the way my 'to be bought' list keeps growing...
My list of things to try has slowly been going down. But my list of things I need to try in a mix is getting pretty long.
What do you get from INW Sweet King ? I gave up on it forever ago because I barely got any flavor, just intense throat hit (too much for me). Can't remember the % I used though.
This post makes me want to go back to my INW tobaccos that have been gathering dust. Thanks!
I get a pretty sweet and creamy nut flavor from it. I don’t think I’ve ever gone above 1% with it, but I also haven’t used it a whole lot. It kind of reminds me a bit of CAP Hazelnut.
INW makes a few of my favorite tobaccos. They have quite a few that range from not that great to really nasty, but when they are good they are usually really good.
Thx, I wonder y INW is not as popular / available than others (CAP, TPA, FW, ... etc)
Late entry into the North American market. Remember the business model of most DIY sites is to buy by the gallon and sell by the ounce (or less). To get good prices, multiple gallons must be bought. But there's also the question of how much inventory to hold onto. And then there's cost 9f holding inventory, so there's a markup to cover that as well. Add in the slightly more favorable shipping availability from anywhere in the western hemisphere than from eastern Europe (or China... this applies to some of their flavor houses too) and you get a problem that a site has to choose whether to stock a (relatively) unknown product that may end up being in inventory for a long time, or that could linger for months before catching on and then sell out in a day or two, only to take anot her month to restock. As flavors become more popular with mixers, various sites will pick them up.
Every time you post a recipe is like I found a golden nugget, many thanks, actually steeping your Brigada 2506 :-)
Glad you enjoy them! Some of these might be more like a silver or bronze nugget, but could a good start to making something gilded.
The Brigade has been my favorite for a while now. Really simple and satisfying. Might have to start alternating it with the Oriental Brigade from this post, because that one is pretty damn good too. Might try it with just a little HS Elder Captain to add a little bit of spice to it.
Maybe this is the wrong thread to ask, but you are the expert of all things tobacco. If I had to pick a single tobacco flavor that is realistic enough, as a standalone vape which INV or FLV should I be looking at?
I just tried my NET cigar extract from a while ago. I haven't vaped tobacco flavor in months and holy cow, I did miss the complex and aromatic feel that tobacco brings. I hate rewicking and recoiling every other day, so I need a more sustainable solution. I am looking for a straight up tobacco, that is rich and complex.
Again, apologies for the thread hijack.
No worries! I think I will have a different answer than most people will have for this question. I would pick INW Black for Pipe to be the one ring to rule them all. 2.5-3% single flavor is good enough for me to be satisfied.
Most others will be picking a FLV. While I really like mixing with FLV, I get a funny off note with a few of them that tastes like a laundromat. Cured was the biggest offender, but I also taste it a little with Red Burley, Native, and Kentucky Blend. In a mix it is easy enough to hide in with some INW tobaccos, but single flavor I can always taste it. But I think I am in the minority with that. If I had to pick one of those, I would go Red Burley. It’s dark, complex, and should be plenty satisfying.
> INW Black for Pipe
Thank you for taking the time to respond. I just read the review page here where plenty of people relate it to a NET minus the gunkage. I couldn't ask for more.
Turns out I can - would it have been hard for Bull City to stock just this one flavor?
They stopped carrying it. It was the only place I knew of in the US that sold it, so that’s why I got a hold of Vapers Tek to see if they’d stock it. I have a feeling that BCF is going to stop carrying a few tobacco flavors soon because they are derived from real tobacco.
