EDIT: I have purchased 100ml of TPA sweetener and my coils now seem to lasting again (I've put my normal mix into a 2 week old coil and vaped 40ml of juice and coil is still fine)
I recently mixed up 10% sucralose powder (100% pure) in PG and everything seemed to go smoothly.
I put 3gram of sucralose into 27ml of PG put the bottle in some hotwater for about 5 min and shook it etc and everything seemed fine.
However it seems to be absolutely destroying my coils now when TFA's sucralose didn't when using the exact same %'s in my mixes..
My coils are dieing with 10-15ml now when they used to last me up to 2 weeks before burning at all.
My sucralose is from a company called DSC (I'm uk based)
Anti-caking agents? It's likely you purchased a product that contains a minuscule amount of anti-caking chemicals to, well, prevent caking.
Have you heard of that before then? I don't know where to buy my powder from now then..
I know for a fact that most powdered citric acid available in retail stores comes with an anti caking agent to counteract the inevitable exposure to humidity. I'm not positive if it's used in keeping powdered sucralose from getting chunky, but it is absolutely used in other powdered food additives.
do we know the concentration of TPAs sweetener? could be your homebrew batch is more concentrated than theirs? I don't personally use sweetener but I could also be tempted to think that the fineness of sucralose concentrate could affect it. if you're using a powder with larger granules(?) than TPA uses, I would imagine it causes more buildup on the coils.
outside of the actual concentrate's properties, have you swapped tanks or changed your wattage? alternatively, are you going at your vape harder than you were before to test new juices? the time between draws also has an effect on coil health.
hope any of that is helpful.
I believe Tpa is 5% sucralose and 5% em. I could be completely wrong but for some reason those numbers ring a bell.
I find that most all American juices I've tried use sucralose and kill my coils within a day or two. Ethyl Maltol seems to be much less of a coil killer but the taste isn't the same.
Can you show us the label on the sucralose you purchased, or a link to the powder you bought?
