As always, the purpose of this thread is to gather the community to explore a flavor and its many uses. And it's also to have FUN!
Post recipes containing this week's Flavor of the Week, as the star or in a supporting role, with or without development notes. Talk about other people's recipes that use it. Compare and contrast different manufacturers' versions of the FOTW. Ask for help using that flavor in general or to achieve something specific, offer advice, brainstorm ideas, consider substitutions, suggest pairings... really anything at all as long as it's on topic.

I would give my left foot (no not really ) for a spot on werthers. Most caramels taste burnt to me. Butterscotch ripple is good kind of caramly.
I'd work on a Werthers recipe but if it's not going to add to my left foot collection, why bother?
Which caramels tasted burnt to you?
One of my all time favorite two Flavor combos involves caramel!
TFA dk tobacco 2%
TFA dulce de Leche 2%
Not so much tobacco as it is dessert. It kind of makes me think of waffles with syrup. Since it involves caramel I thought I'd share.
TFA dk tobacco is the perfect companion Flavor to caramel imho.
Do you get a cocoa flavor out of TFA Dulce De Leche? I do and while it's not really unpleasant, it seems like an off-note for a dulce de leche concentrate.
I've been into FW Salted Caramel lately. Even though it's not actually salted at all, it's a very nice soft caramel, unlike so many other so-called caramels that are really just brown sugar flavored.
But I get where you're coming from with the tobacco; my favorite caramel to date is actually DIYFS Holy Grail RY4. You can't separate it from the tobacco-esque flavor that makes it an RY4 - at least I can't, and I've tried - but it's such a satisfying caramel w/tobacco-ish flavor.
I've actually never tried dulce de Leche solo oddly enough, but I've never detected any cocoa in this mix or any other I've used it in. I'm going to have to pick up that holy Grail sometime soon!
I'll just leave this link to Cardinal by /u/feartx right here for you.
> Do you get a cocoa flavor out of TFA Dulce De Leche? I do and while it's not really unpleasant, it seems like an off-note for a dulce de leche concentrate.
I don't get an actual cocoa flavour as such but it is chocolate-y - reminds me a lot of TFA Double Choc Clear.
Ah good ole Caramel, I've been waiting for this to be the FWOW so I could share a recipie I've been tweaking for a long while now.
Casa Caramela
Vendor | Flavor | % ---|---|---- TFA | Caramel Original | 3% FA | Torrone | .5% FLV | Coconut | .25% FA | Fresh Cream | 4% CAP | Vanilla Whipped Cream | 2.5% TFA | Graham Cracker Clear | 3% CAP | Golden Pineapple | .5%
This is a creamy and sweat Caramel vape. The Coconut from FLV is the expensive variant, I forget what its exact name is , however there are no substitutes for it and while the mix is vapeable without it, it is dramatically different. Ditto for the Golden Pineapple, it really just isn't the same mix without it. At .5% you don't get much of a Pineapple note but the acid cuts through some the cream and IMO pulls the caramel notes out while giving adding a little extra sweetness. I have subbed VBIC for Vanilla Whipped Cream but the VBIC adds some off-notes to the mix that I didn't really like. YMMV if you sub one for the other. As with the coconut the Torrone is not sub-able and is necessary for everything to come together right. The mix is vapeable without it, but is missing mid notes imo without it.
I've made this mix for the last 2 winters for my Wife and I and as a Christmas gift for the my sister. We all think it's a fantastic vape and I hope you all do too.
That looks outstanding! Does it have a name? Also is that supposed to be CAP Sweet Cream? (It says CAP Fresh Cream)
So, what's the Graham cracker doing in there?
Mostly it's there to add a darker sweetness, initially I had been using TFA Brown Sugar but switched over to Graham because Brown Sugar gunks my coils. Ended up really liking the new overall profile.
Caramel icecream I’ve been working on, still not creamy enough but it’s pretty good!
FW Butterscotch ripple 2%
FW Salted caramel 3.5%
TFA Vanilla bean icecream 5%
The first one I've tried is FlavourArt. Its a pretty light flavor considering most FA is pretty potent. I like it, but have a hard time tasting it.
The other one I got is Purilum Creamy Caramel. I like this one better. Its more in your face and pretty delicious. Its fairly potent and doesn't take much (.5-2%) to add a nice caramely flavor to the mix. My opinion on the whole subject is limited to these two.
I remember getting a small bottle of cheap caramel juice waaaaay back when I started. I almost thought I burned my coil out, it was that gross.
I blame that for my hesitation to try caramel juices. Well, that and the fact that a lot of caramel flavor reviews seem to mention cream. And I don't like creams.

I've used WF Carmel Butter a few times but haven't tested it solo yet. I used it in a caramel ice cream recipe and that turned out really nice. it smells like caramel pudding. on the back of the hand it tastes like I shouldn't have done that.
A recipe i've been trying to get right for a while but I now feel I have got as close as I can.

Tpa double chocolate clear as the outershell combined with the cocoa and FA chocolate to add the missing chocolate notes from the tfa. Dairy milk and a touch of fresh cream to boost the dairy note to get a milk chocolate. Caramel (original) and FA caramel combined to give a sweet candy caramel and a touch of butterscotch for that silky smooth taste. Vanillin used for a touch of sweetness. EDIT:Formatting

FA Car-muhl: This stuff is pretty good. I llke it when I want the caramel flavor to be present, but not quite "velvety". It kinda reminds of of those Werthers Butterscotches. That said, it also plays well with FA Butterscotch. 0.5% - 2%
TFA Car-muhl Candy: A lot like FA Caramel, but just a different caramel top note. Not much body, but its good for caramel presence. This recipe it really sticks out in mainly because of its accompanying flavors. 1 - 5%
TFA Car-muhl Original: This is where we start to get more into the "soft crack" state. It's got a bit more body and richness, though still needs help to give you that warm caramel syrup feel. I like this stuff more in bakeries and as a bridge for certain profiles. Also in RY4's and Custards to add some more nuttiness to the overall profile. 1 - 4%
FW Salted Car-muhl: This stuff's pretty interesting. While I don't get much saltiness from it in vapor, it does have a nice caramel note to it. Especially when you pair it up with the other caramels mentioned. Gotta pump it high to really get its full experience, but that's ok because you can't really use this stuff in any complex situations. Keep it simple. 2 - 6%
I think it should actually be "CAR-uh-muhl"
When in doubt, add a syllable.
For example, Molasses. Moll-ASS-ez. No.
Muuuhlaaahhhyyyyuhhsez. Yes.

And does English Toffee qualify as on topic?
