Is this nicotine alright or not?
submitted over 7 years ago by robbiepellagreen

Hey guys!

Decided to give Liquid Nicotine Wholesalers Nic Salts a go after reading a few positive reviews in here. My bottle just arrived today and it is a straight up solid amber colour, as you'll see in the picture linked at the bottom.

Just wondering if anyone can weigh in on if this is how LNW salts are supposed to come or if it's completely oxidised/gone bad? I'm over in Australia so oxidation during transit IS a possibility, but I have never had this problem in all the times I've ordered nic from America, specifically the multiple times I've ordered salts from Nude Nic, which always came clear with a light pink hue sometimes.

Thanks in advance for the input guys :)

EDIT - removed pic due to personal info, got enough feedback for now, thanks guys, will report back after I test a batch.

My nic starts out clear but I'm using 100mg nicotine and only vape at 3mg so the bottle lasts a long time. Once I get to the end of the bottle it's turned into a dark yellow almost orange color. I've never noticed any difference. Maybe they sold you an expired bottle?

What does it smell like?

Test it and find out if it’s usable.

I would say definitely oxidized unless there is something extra in there. I wouldn't keep it.

Could be fine. I've heard of peeps getting yellow nic salts and it was fine. Only way to know is to try it.

Nic salts tend to have coloration, at least according to nicotine river's website. So it would be safe to use.

Nude nicotines smooth salts were a similar color when I got a sample of it, so it could be normal. I would make a small batch and test it.

My nic river signature 100mg is crystal clear. I put it in 120ml bottles with no air gap in the freezer and so far 6 months and it's good as new.

Cheers guys! I really don't feel it should be this colour to start out with but I'll mix up a test batch and report back!

Man that sucks, I got a 500ml bottle of 100mg salts a couple months ago and it's still clear. I hope it doesn't taste funky

Yeah, I have made a order for a 120ml and 1 for a 500ml. Both were near clear and never changed colors. I hope you stuff is vapeable

Even though you said you had enough feedback, here's some more. Our weather has been crazy here, going from really cold to warm and repeating every few days. That could be a factor too.

I placed an order with LNW last September. The product was clear when I received it & I have stored it in the fridge ever since, and there has been hardly any change in colour. Very pleased with my purchase.

I posted this in another thread talking about salts

" The use of the cationic salts may accelerate the color change of the nicotine salt solution, but is by no means indicative of oxidation therein. The binding of the two molecules results in a sharing of electrons from the cationic salt with the anionic nicotine, resulting in color!!!"
