The "Best of 2017" will be locked down soon and voting closed. I will be closing the post in the last few days of January. Winner to be announced shortly thereafter.
I know a lot of you vote based on the recipe's ingredients or reputation without having tried it. I ask again... if you haven't mixed it and vaped it, please refrain from upvoting it.
And if the word "pickle" shows up in the results... let's just say you have been warned.
Happy Cakeday, Kirk!
I hope that Leche De Coco wins. So freaking good.
:) that would be awesome. There's some *stiff competition though!
>And if the word "pickle" shows up in the results... let's just say you have been warned
Shouldn't someone do something about this blatant vote tampering? Or is Chicago-style politics 'legitimate' here?
If you've tried pickle rick or pickle gibson, you'll understand why we absolutely don't want to include it in the final results. Maybe an honorable mention or something.
If recipes with mango and/or strawberry win, that's worse. I've gotta say I can't imagine finding one of those anywhere near as palatable as, say, Pickle Gibson.
Unfortunately, I don't have enough flavorings to try those nominated :c /sadlife
Let me know which you'd like to try, and which vg/pg/nic ratio and I might be able to send you a couple bottles :)
I'm not from the US hehe thank you for your generosity tho I have my eye on a number here on a number of recipes I'd like to try. Eventually I feel the more flavorings I buy, the easier I can try new recipes.
Does it have to be in terms of taste, I think I voted for pickle on the pure spirit of invention.
Plus I don't even mix juice anymore or vape, should I not vote? Not trying to be a dick here.
I mean, pickle rick is inventive, but it's not really all that accurate to the idea even. Not to mention it's flavor is really off-putting.
If we're going for inventive, I'll make a recipe titled Dumpster Drippings and use FA Lavender, TFA Honey, FLV Crunch Cereal, and TFA Cheesecake.
I thought the consensus was that it was accurate to the idea. The fact that you find the flavor off putting is irrelevant because that's just your own personal taste.
It's based off a food item that actually exists and people actually enjoy. If it's accurate to that and those people that like pickle pops find it enjoyable then I would say it's more interesting then just another cupcake with frosting recipe.
The problem with Pickle Rick is that it ISN'T accurate. It's very weird and Dave did a great job at utilizing a horribly offensive concentrate and making it "vapeable" (albeit, for maybe only one or two drags). So hats off to him for that.
Now, if he called the recipe, "Frozen McDonald's Cheeseburger Toppings," then yeah, 100% accurate. A+. 10/10.
I think it would be reasonable to not vote in that situation.
I am in no way implying that Pickle Rick is a bad recipe - it's indeed innovative, and FWIW I've tried it and it didn't kill me. /u/ID-10T is one of the finest mixers around so it's not a comment on his worthiness of recognition either.
