As always, the purpose of this thread is to gather the community to explore a flavor and its many uses. And it's also to have FUN!
Post recipes containing this week's Flavor of the Week, as the star or in a supporting role, with or without development notes. Talk about other people's recipes that use it. Compare and contrast different manufacturers' versions of the FOTW. Ask for help using that flavor in general or to achieve something specific, offer advice, brainstorm ideas, consider substitutions, suggest pairings... really anything at all as long as it's on topic.

The only gummy concentrate I have experience with is TPA Gummy Candy, and I’ve never been happy with a recipe that includes it. It seems as though no matter how dilute it is, it smothers every other flavor with its weird profile and slick mouthfeel. I thought I’d try playing with it again recently, and I mixed this:
2% CAP Golden Pineapple
1% INW Dragonfruit
0.25% TPA Gummy Candy
0.5% CAP Sweet Lychee
If previous experiences hold true, when this is done steeping it will taste like TPA Gummy Candy and nothing else.
You might be an aldehyde supertaster.
TPA gummy is like 80% methylbenzaldehyde which is bitter almond to cherry tasting for most folks but supertasters will actually max out their sensory perception of other flavors.
Remember that most flavor concentrates are a mix of many compounds usually at 1%-5% in concentrate and many times less in an eliquid.
TPA gummy being massive methylbenzaldehyde means in any mix it could overwhelm the ratio against every other compound and someone who is sensitive to aldehydes would mute out anything else.
Im curious if you hate or love cherry or almond vape flavors. Or cilantro.
Huh. I do have issues with cherry and almond concentrates, and can barely tolerate cilantro and parsley.
Well just keep in mind that certain aldehydes are common in certain flavor profiles and you likely are going to have issues taming those particular notes way down.
If you have time and patience I bet you can use TPA gummy with success but you need to tone it down so far that the perception window might be crazy slim. Like dilute TPA to VG 1:9 and use that dilution at 0.5 to 5% and see if it works. Might actually present the right profile. Might not.
Aldehyde supertasters can still taste flavor but it has to be reduced to a much lower threshold for perception.
If you do play with gummy at tiny usage and find a solution let me know. I used to make an aldehyde supertaster blend for cherry eliquid years ago but likely lost the formula. Or it's on Google drive somewhere.
I recently tried CAP SL 27 bears. It works great as a haribo type gummy at 6-7%. My recipe for a red haribo is:
7% cap sl 27 bears
1.5% fa raspberry
0.5% inw raspberry
1% inw shisha strawberry
0.5% cap super sweet
It is already becoming a favourite for me and my brother and is so easy.
edit: at higher powers the fa raspberry gets a bit floral so I prefer it in lower heatflux or TC.
If you dig Medicine Flower try a tiny amount of MF Concorde Grape and MF White Cherry. 0.05% - 0.25% (AT MOST) and usually heavier on the grape.
Brings a gummy aroma to any mix. I like to premix and presteep in VG with a hint of water to mix into other candy blends.
Mixes poorly with cactus and similar flavors. Tastes like mildew and vaporub.
Holy shit, did your boat finally find land? Good seeing you again in these parts.
I'll have to pick these flavors up to try this as I have been disappointed with most of the gummy flavorings I've tried.
Dont blow bank on them, it's more of a palate test but does seem to work great for a lot of folks.
If you have normal flavors from FA or TPA try going light on popsicle grape and half as much on non-cough drop cherry. Should give you the same profile but I have no clue which concentrates from the big makers would fit those profiles.
The flavor of standard gummy is usually apple and cherry but I'm apple blind flavorwise so I never got that one to work.
As for the boat, I'm back in Chicago for two weeks helping my folks with winter crap. Then back to the lesser Antilles to sit on a beach or three and pretend that the world doesn't exist.
Life is better with blinders on, I recommend it for everyone.
I haven't tried a lot of different gummy candy type flavors, but one that I've found works really well is Delosi Gummi Bear. It's got some good texture and flavor, but is a little light -- using 10%-15% would not be considered heavy handed.
I've used CAP Jelly Candy a little bit but still need to experiment more with it. So far it gives me a dots vibe. They really got a lot of texture in to this one, kind of chewy and very thick. The flavor I don't remember well but thought it leaved something to desire. You can work around this flavor pretty easy but in some mixes it can definitely stand out too much. IIRC I like to stay below 1% with this one.
I'm excited to dive deeper in to some of these flavors!
I want to give a shoutout to a friend of mine who doesn't use Reddit much. Seakow's recipe Taaffeite is definitely an interesting use of CAP Jelly Candy. It's surprisingly good and if you are into floral notes you might enjoy it as well!
2% TPA Gummy Candy 3% TPA Swedish Gummy 1% LA Natural Cherry 3% TFA Black Cherry 1% TFA Cherry Blossom 0.2% Super Sweet
The gummy candy flavor is weird, you HAVE to use a strong flavor to get any punch. The Cherry blossom is probably overdoing the cherry, so if you don't have it, leave it out, just up the LA cherry and Black Cherry a bit. The real key here is the black cherry. It goes VERY well with the Gummy candy and Swedish Gummy.
I've made several of these and they always come out quite good IMO. I made a 120mL and vaped on it for a few weeks and it only got better after steeping.
To me, this tastes just like a bag of red swedish fish
27 Bears is by far the best gummy I have used followed by Purilum gummy. I have noticed CAP Hibiscus will help with the gummy texture.
Base 4.5% CAP 27 Bears 1.5% CAP Hibiscus Then whatever fruits you want to add, here's my typical go to. .5% FA Apricot 2.5% FA Peach White 1% TFA Pear
I just got CAP-Jelly Candy and PUR-Gummy & Jelly Candy in the mail. I kinda get the impression that something similar is in the only commercial juice I like anymore. Its a Blue Slushee flavor that doesn't taste much like a slushie drink. Its just a pleasant flavor that I enjoy and would like to know how they make it. So I got these Gummy/jelly candy flavors to see how they effect fruit/candy flavors. I really should have gotten TFA because its doubtful they'd have used Purilum.
I like to make one by joshua vapes on ELR, with FLV Peach Gummy-
.
- CAP Orange Creamsicle- 4.5%
- FLV Peach Gummy- 3%
- CAP Super Sweet- .5%
.
His recipes calls for 1% super sweet but I lowered it cuz, it's pretty strong stuff. The orange/peach blend together nicely. Then the cream blends with the gummy candy giving it more of a creamy gummy flavor.
With all these gummy candies I just have to ask if someone has a recipe that tastes like the Smurf candies.
A little late but this is my Skittles Wild Berry recipe: https://alltheflavors.com/recipes/60881
So the FOTW and Monthly clone challenge just 'happened' to work together this week?
Although seriously, someone out there must have some idea who makes the best gummy flavor...
100% pure coincidence.
u/ID10-T. You recommended a 27 fish, dragon fruit, harvest berry, and sweet strawberry. Finally mixed it, let it set for two days and starting trying it last night and my 15ml bottle is already out. So thank you as i wasn't sure if i had bad pg/vg before that lol. So i have a renew interest In this!
I like: 9% Gummy Candy TFA 2% Dragonfruit TFA 1% Juicy Peach TFA
How would you describe the profile of that mix?
Not sure I understand what you're talking about. I'm fairly new to this.
Its tastes like a cross between those peach rings and gummi bears and it has a slight slime feel to it like when you suck on a gummi bear
TFA Juicy Peach. %6
TFA Sour %7
SL 27 Bears %4
TFA Vanilla Swirl %2
CAP Super Sweet %1
I present my Peach Rings recipe. Less or more sweetner to taste.
Silverline 27Bears smells exactly like gummy bears. Its awesome.
Good lord 7% sour doesn't eat through your atomizer?
I've never vaped more than a tank without changing flavors. But it's not bothered anything as far as I could tell. I tried to use %3 in my first bottle and couldn't get any sourness out of it. Upping it didn't change much.
