TFA Hawaiian Drink
submitted over 7 years ago by strangea

I'm experimenting with this flavor. It has a nice citrus-y fruit punch taste, but at 5% standalone I get a little laundry detergent taste on the exhale. Has anyone else used it? What are you thoughts?

Literally just had my first taste. 4% seemed right to me but needs a sweetner for the authentic "hawiaiian drink". Very reminiscent of Kool aid fruit punch.

4% with a few drops of INW cactus. Also mixes really well with orange colored fruit flavors. (Peach, mango, orange, apricot) I use this constantly actually. Also mixes well with TFA Gummy Candy and TFA Sweet and Tart.

Oo, I have some cactus laying around. I'll give that a try.

Follow up because experimenting myself. Mixes real well with TFA Blueberry Candy at about 4% each. Adds a sweeter note and tastes a little like blue Hawaiian Punch.

Some citrus flavors give me a lemon/pledge cleaner taste/smell, especially when they are used to strong.

I use it in a Fruit Punch Recipe blended with a few other pairings. 2 things to note, it produces a red haze color under UV light (outside in the sun) and it's one of those Flavorings that just lingers in your atomizer. I just recently had a bottle, finished it up and rewicked and I could taste it very prominently over the next flavor I used.

There is a recipe on ELR that has it at 4% as well, Link below. Not my recipe but looks good.

I also tried it at 4% with some sweetener, and FW version and it turned out OK. I plan to mix it with a little Mtn Dew, for a different twist. Good lcuk on the mis

I'm tasting this flavor for the first time tonight. I'm up to 6% and like this one. I have FLV tropical punch and had a hard time tasting it. I like this one better. It could use a little pineapple maybe but its good.

How do you mask the chemical taste that lingers? Everything else is amazing about the flavor, but that aftertaste kills it for me.

That strong citrus/detergent taste? A little sweetener and the cactus that/u/Joptrop suggested helped quite a bit. A couple days steep helped quite a bit as well.

Thanks, I'll try that.
