Is there a laundry flavoured concentrate? I wanna make a tide pod flavour juice for my buddy.

by leapinglabratsover 7 years ago

Haha I didn't think you were serious. Well, I have no clue what one of those things smell like, but citrus and tropical fruits are common and a lot of flavors turn to soap or perfume if you use too much. Use something like lemon, peach and guava and crank them way up, like 10% each. That should be pretty disgusting, especially after a day or two when they've had time to muddle together into some indistinguishable soapy mess.

Textures: I could use some pointers.

Had a premium juice that was a demse, heavy cloud in my chest, which I just replicated via monkey snack clone - dx PB and Banana cream(9%11%). What is that sensation it creates?

I also had one that was a thick, almost chewy, smooth, strawberry-caramely (though caramel isn't in the description) and cream. What on earth creates that?

6 points

by wh1skeyk1ngover 7 years agoThanks for reading this flair

Sounds like diketones or ethyl maltol.

2 points

by mjswooperover 7 years ago

Well, the dx flavours are free from it, and so too the premium juice by their word.

1 points

by PerennialPhilosopherover 7 years ago

Diketones can form in juice after mixing sometimes*. They may not put any in but it's possible that they could form.

*According to a source I can't remember.

Any opinions on TPA Coconut versus TPA Coconut Extra? or are they the same concentrate...

1 points

by ID10-Tover 7 years agoWinner of the 2nd DIYorDIE World Mixing Championship

They're very close to the same thing but TFA Coconut Extra has a few extra things in it and is about 3 to 4 times stronger than TFA Coconut.

What is a one shot, and what does it do/mean for DIY? I saw the post about them, but not really what they are, so much as that they were available.

4 points

by DNagsover 7 years ago

I've never actually bought one, but a one shot is a concentrated complete recipe. It's like if you mixed and bottled only the flavors of a recipe, without the PG/VG/nic.

You then add it to your desired ratio of PG/VG/nic. Seems to defeat some of the purpose of DIY imo, unless there's a recipe you really love available as a one shot and can't find a proper clone. Seems like just paying a premium for someone else to do 10% of the work. Unless I'm ignorant and they are priced similar to the total amount of flavors req'd for the mix purchased separately.

3 points

by Scratch312over 7 years ago

I can see the appeal of a one shot if it’s a recipe that you have almost none of the flavors to make, and want to sample the recipe before buying a bunch of ingredients you may or may not end up using, but other than that, I agree with you completely.

4 points

by DNagsover 7 years ago

The sampling idea makes a ton of sense, but do one shots advertise which flavors they contain? Or are they like premium juices, where you're paying for the recipe?

2 points

by collenchymaover 7 years ago

I think you can also use the term for mixing the flavors yourself. ELR has a one shot option.

Hey y'all! I looked around to try to find out for myself with no luck, so does anyone know if Liquid Barn's sweetener is just sucralose and pg? Or does it have EM in it?

Yeah their data sheet on that doesn't specify unfortunately. They have pretty decent customer service, they can probably answer that for you.

I'd pick a diff sweetner, based on other market reviews.

I've got a question with respect to All The Flavors. Have y'all been able to sync the app at all? I need to delete a bunch of recipes, but it will get all the way through syncing, and then give me an error message. I've tried contacting them 3 times over the last 3 months to no avail. They used to be very responsive, not sure what's up.

2 points

by EdibleMalfunctionover 7 years ago

I don’t know if it applies to the syncing, but I do believe support for the further development of the app was dropped for the time being in favor of the site development.

That's pretty accurate. The website is much more feature-full, I keep the app around because some people just NEED to have an app for reasons I don't understand.

/u/WorstAdviceROC I'm not sure who you are IRL, so don't know what you've contacted me for, but there is no "they" - it's just me, and All The Flavors is a side gig I only get to work on late at night. :)

Is there a way to combat dryness with florals like the way you use INW Cactus with fruits? Looking to use some florals in a cookie recipe. I will be using FLV Cream, just not sure if it's enough. Paging /u/hocuskrokus, his bearded holiness, keeper of the flower secrets.

Edit: Also paging /u/RinVapes

3 points

by WorstAdviceROCover 7 years ago

Yes. FLV Pear @ very low percentages, less than 0.5% works for me.

3 points

by HocusKrokusover 7 years agoHis Bearded Holiness

For dryness with florals in bakeries - Non eggy/neutral creams are your friend here. FLV Cream, FA Fresh Cream, FA Meringue. If those fail, very low added caramel, brown sugar, or even sucralose can help turn it around.

3 points

by RinVapesover 7 years ago

I use TFA whipped cream for that... but I'm guessing FLV Cream will work.. depends on whether you want a cream note in there or not. If you want cream, add FLV... if you don't really want the cream note and just want to smooth stuff out, 1% of TFA whipped cream.

I don't have experience adding cactus to florals but it could possibly work too. IDK

Just bought and received all my supplies to start mixing my own juice. My first mix was meant to be strawberry kiwi, using Tfa strawberry ripe at 6% and tfa kiwi double at 2%. I found it to be quite harsh, and I'm certain my pg, vg and nic are good. I've mixed up a few bottles of flavorless juice to try and ease my taste buds for testing, and no problems.

I've also got Tfa strawberry Tfa pineapple Cap golden pineapple Cap super sweet And tfa sour Any recipe suggestions or tips to keep in mind before I blindly start testing and playing with percentages?

Edit: would like to add I'm mixing by weight and shooting for 70/30 vg/pg, Canada's cold winters make it difficult wicking anything high in vg, imo.

3 points

by Scratch312over 7 years ago

In my experience, I have the best luck with TFA’s Strawberries by mixing Ripe with the plain Strawberry. If you’re aiming for 6% total for the strawberry, try 4% Strawberry and 2% Strawberry Ripe. I haven’t messed with the Kiwi Double, so I’m not sure if your percentage is wonky or not. I also like fruity mixes like this with a dab of sweetener. I would use your Super Sweet at around .2-.3%. That should yield fairly good results. Hope this helps!

2 points

by ToxicAffectover 7 years ago

Thanks for the suggestion. Mixed a test bottle and seems a lot less harsh, but low on flavour. Planning to let it steep before I test it again.

1 points

by Scratch312over 7 years ago

If it’s still a little weak after a steep, the good thing is that both of those strawberries are fairly linear, so you can bump them both a bit without worrying about them getting weird, but if you go too high, you could potentially mute the flavor of your mix.

2 points

by DNagsover 7 years ago

Haven't used TFA double kiwi. I would try FA Kiwi 2% and 4% Strawberry and 4% Strawberry Ripe. Shouldn't be harsh at all at 70/30. Only other thing I could think of causing harshness would be the nic. What are you shooting for?

I also find that more concentrated nic (48mg/ml and up) increases harshness at first, then cools down after a couple days of steeping.

On another note, as you're just starting out, I would suggest buying flavors for a few popular recipes on alltheflavors.com that sound appealing and mixing those first. You learn a lot about which flavors work well together, at what percentages, and how they change during the steeping process. I had zero luck mixing my own stuff at the beginning.

I'm planning to pick up Fa kiwi in the next week, my main goal is to create an enjoyable strawberry kiwi flavour as an adv. I vape between 1-3mg nic, and haven't had any issues with the nicotine I bought. (Bought from diy vape supply in canada)

One of the owners was chatting with me yesterday when I had went to buy a couple pineapple flavours to try. He swears it's the kiwi double, and from what I've been reading it's hit or miss on whether you get a harsh vape from it.

Awesome to know the nicotine needs a bit of time to mellow, too. Planned to dilute the bottle of nic I bought but didn't have enough bottles to do so at the time. I just opted to put it in smaller 30/15ml bottles I got new and then into the freezer.

Definitely planning on buying flavours for recipes in ATF. I've lurked around for awhile, trying to wrap my head around things before jumping into the rabbit hole. Just need to keep buying flavours every week, lol.

1 points

by DNagsover 7 years ago

If you like fruit mixes pick up FA Pear and INW Cactus too. They aren't for everyone, but FA pear at about .5% and Cactus at 1-2% add some floral sweetness and juiciness to fruit mixes.

The only thing I’ve been using for the past few months- flavor wise- has been DIY RY4 Holy Grail. I love how subtle yet strong it is. I love coconut and vanilla.

I want to switch my flavor but I have no idea what to make and mix up, HELP!!

Pretty easy answer here I think (for my brain), without a doubt FA Soho. It's all I vape MTL except some TFA RY4D, I'm currently waiting for my DIY RY4 Holy Grail along with some other flavors to try and find another juice as good as FA Soho. I also came into this thread just to ask a new question about FA Soho..

I live in China, and have just started vaping as a tobacco cessation tool. I am not happy with the available oils here, so I think I need to make my own. Getting PG and VG is no problem. The closest thing I found to nicotine is a 36mg nicotine solution (which I am guessing means it is 3.6% nicotine). I have only found strawberry and banana flavorings, neither of which appeal to me. What other alternatives can I use? Any food flavoring? Has anyone ever tried maple flavor, such as maplein? If I wanted to make a 12 my solution, I am guessing I can just use math to figure out how much to put in—is there anything else I should be aware of? Any help is appreciated.

As far as I can tell, the “Super Concentrates” or “Flavor Express” flavors that are sold here are from a Chinese company called Xi’an Taima. Might be worth a google.

/u/Dumaecr did all the research on these flavors and might be able to give some more info. Lots of Russian sites, but maybe you can find something.

Don't put food flavors in ejuice unless you know they don't contain oils, sugars, and particles that are not safe to vape. Also most flavors you can buy at the grocery store, even if they aren't going to hurt you, will be watered down rather than concentrated flavors. Some of the concentrated flavors I want to use I have to order from China, so it seems like you should be able to find them, but I really don't know. Hopefully they don't limit their business to exporting. Have you tried looking into Duomei or ~~Hangsen~~ flavors?

You don't need to do any math. There are plenty of calculators that will do that for you. This one is simple and great for beginners to use http://dot1ml.com/mixer

Edit: weird Hangsen located in China ships literally everywhere in the world except China.

Has anyone here made a NET using chewing tobacco instead of pipe tobacco?

I've been reading up on it because it seems interesting to attempt to make. And I've read all the steps involved and it doesn't seem too hard, but I noticed everyone has made it with dry pipe tobacco. Is there anything that I might want to consider doing different if I used moist chewing tobacco instead of dried leaf?

Check to find what additives the chewing tobacco contains. And I believe /u/chemicalburnvictim tried NET with cigar tobaccos like Connecticut Shade, IIRC.

2 points

by gunsanonymousover 7 years ago

Yeah that's what I was reading, aren't cigar tobaccos all dried leaf as well? That looking up additives is a good idea I might be able to replicate the flavor that way too.

2 points

by juthincover 7 years ago

Pipe tobacco is often treated differently than cigar tobacco, particularly the 'wrapper' varieties of tobacco. And the additives comment was more for safety reasons, but if they're adding, say, molasses to the tobacco you're chewing, you really want to use a molasses flavoring rather than a NET.

Yep, same flavor. Their watermelon is called "red summer", it's just a silly naming convention. And their "Cream Fresh" has absolutely nothing to do with "creme fraiche". It's just "fresh cream", lost in translation.

by des911over 7 years ago

So I've tried searching for this answer but due to everything being flavored I couldnt find the answer I wanted. I want unflavored juice. 99.9% sure I just get some 100mg/ml usp grade nic pg base 120ml and mix with 500ml vg. Shake, seperate into smaller bottles, store. Exact mg/ml doesnt matter because its just for me. I calculated it should come out to 16.6mg/ml. Now for the questions, do I need some any tools for my application or can I just dump the one into the other and be fine? Pg vs vg? Id rather buy 1 bottle not 2 so Im guessing id be better off with vg as the mixture in the end would be something like 80/20 vg/pg because of the pg base in the nicotine.

2 points

by leapinglabratsover 7 years ago

Comes out to 19.36 mg/ml, 80/20 VG/PG.

No tools needed, just combine them. PG nic is always preferred, even in a case like this.

If you're lazy or concerned about any of this, you can even buy it premixed to 18 mg/ml. DIY is cheaper though.

2 points

by DNagsover 7 years ago

When you buy your 3 components in bulk, just spend $5 on a large graduated cylinder or beaker. Then you can get the exact ratio you want with minimal effort.

Or If you want 1 bottle you can buy pre-mixed PG/VG base, as well as nicotine with different base ratios. For example, you can buy bulk 70/30, then buy 70/30 nic and just mix at whatever nic % you want, while always maintaining 70/30.

The only tools you need are something to measure volume or weight, and gloves/eyewear for handling the nic.

Also you want 16.6 mg/mL nic???

1 points

by des911over 7 years ago

I wasnt aiming for any mg/ml in particular but I read that a cigarette contained around that much so I was fine with it. After researching it some more it looks like you only absorb a fraction of that. Lol that wouldve been a nice mistake. What do you recommend for someone looking for a nicotine fix and not clouds/flavour? 9mg/ml? Vg/pg mix also doesnt matter to me, I was just going for simplicity as a first timer. Would it be worth going 70/30 vs 80/20?

1 points

by DNagsover 7 years ago

More VG will give more clouds and thicker juice. More PG will give more harshness and thinner juice. More nic also increases harshness. So depending on what you want anywhere from 50-50 to 80-20. The ratio affects flavor as well but that doesn't matter here. Everyone's tolerance/preferences for nic is different. If you want a quick fix on a couple pulls, maybe 9-12mg/mL. If you want to vape for a couple mins try 3-6. There are no right answers to your questions, you just need to find out what you like.

2 points

by electrobrainsover 7 years ago

So, this is a really noob question, but... sweeteners mute flavor, don't they? I mixed up a 100mL of juice with MF Grapefruit and Bulgarian Rose, but I decided to try going sweeter and put in 100mg or roughly .1% of Rebaudioside-A. I've since added more flavor but can't really taste much. I used a little bit of Malic Acid, but it was a truly sparing amount, but maybe that's not helping? The scent is great but I'm not tasting it, kinda tastes like frosting.

If that is my fault for trying so much sweetener, could the flavor be salvageable or did I overshoot by an order of magnitude?

3 points

by ChemicalBurnVictimover 7 years agoresident tobacco expert

Do you happen to know how much “a truly sparing amount” is? I’ve seen /u/abdada popping up lately and he could probably be more help since I know he used MF and has more experience with Reb A and Malic Acid. Never used any of that stuff personally. In the thread I found he was using like .015% malic acid.

I have it at about 5 percent by weight in VG and I used less than 100mg of that.

How much MF are you adding percentagewise? MF flavors can get blown out quickly if overused.

Off topic, but how do you like the rose? All I've tried is TPA rose candy and I love that stuff.

2 points

by electrobrainsover 7 years ago

It's very nice as a solo flavor, easily something that I can enjoy all the time without getting tired of, and plenty sweet by itself (well, with VG.) Open Source Vapor had a great recipe with it including Mint and I forget what else, Cloves? I would order it with 2x the rose and 1/2x the Cloves and found it sweet, refreshing and with a nice amount of complexity to it. I am yet to try to duplicate any of their recipes but I really want to...

Looking for help getting a realistic peach and strawberry juice. The juice that got me off cigarettes for good was called Southern Freeze by Niquid which is a peach/strawberry + cooling effect. I'm looking to get that peach strawberry part down. I've tried almost every combination I can think of using: Apricot (FA)
Juicy Strawberry (FA)
Peach (Inawera)
Peach (Juicy) (TPA)
Strawberry (Ripe) (TPA)
Strawberry (TPA)
Strawberry Shisha (Inawera)
Sweet Strawberry (Cap)
White Peach (FA)
Am I missing something? supporting flavors? wrong combinations? over thinking things?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

by coop34over 7 years ago

FA is good, it is just overwhelmed by other flavors. I would try again but using TFA Apricot. It pairs well with TFA Strawberry. Search here for Strawberry Astronaut by /u/chrononaught for a simple, enjoyable mix.

3 points

by Lulzorrover 7 years ago

try a mix of

TFA Peach Juicy + FA White Peach - I forget how much to use of each but iirc these together make a pretty nice realistic peach.

CAP Sweet Strawberry + INW Shisha Strawberry - a pretty decent jammy, sweet, strawberry.

try looking for recipes that use those flavors, or flavor combinations, on ELR and see how other people used them.

3 points

by collenchymaover 7 years ago

Apricot works well in small amounts as a support for peach if you haven't tried that.

2 points

by ID10-Tover 7 years agoWinner of the 2nd DIYorDIE World Mixing Championship

Realistic. Hmm...

Have you tried something like 1% INW Peach, 1% Apricot, 3% Shisha Strawberry, 2% Strawberry Ripe? I've never tried to make realistic peach and strawberry combination but if I were going to try to do that and those are the ingredients I had, that's where I'd start.

2 points

by tboneathomeover 7 years ago

I've tried the peach and the apricot together, but maybe too high of a percentage on the INW peach. I'll give this a try with your numbers. I feel like the INW peach and FA white peach were getting me close to realistic, but the white peach just seems to take over even at .5%.

1 points

by ID10-Tover 7 years agoWinner of the 2nd DIYorDIE World Mixing Championship

INW Peach is a funny thing. I get a natural peach down at 1% and a great peach rings candy 3%. Usually to get a fuller natural peach flavor I'll back it up with JF Honey Peach but I think FA Apricot will do that as well. A lot of people love FA White Peach but I've not quite gotten the hang of using it successfully in mix, I guess, same problem you're having, it asserts itself.

Shisha Strawberry is just the best strawberry, IMO. A little Strawberry Ripe should help make it a little more real strawberry and less strawberry syrup that was made in part from real strawberries. If that doesn't work, you might try the same % of that FA Juicy Strawberry. FA Red Touch would have been my first choice for that but it's a good idea to rule out what you already have as workable before ordering stuff you don't need.

I put 3% of Watermelon (cap) + 3% of Melon (cap) and i the juice is bitter. How is this possible?

2 points

by EdibleMalfunctionover 7 years ago

You sure the second one is CAP Melon? I do not believe they make a flavor called Melon.

2 points

by ILoveBurnedPotatoesover 7 years ago

It's called "Honeydew melon".

2 points

by leapinglabratsover 7 years ago

Doesn't have to be the cause, but PG gets bitter when oxidized (through heat, sunlight, a cap that isn't airtight, or just old age). If you're sure it's not your base, then one of the concentrates could have turned bad. Narrow it down. Try the PG on its own. Single flavor test both concentrates.

I'm looking for a percentage guide for lorann cheesecake. Ive had a look on the net, but the percentages suggested vary between 1% (!) and 25% (!). Also, the label on the bottle says "super strength"; is this just a marketing gimmick or is it really "4 times the strength"? Cheers guys

3 points

by leapinglabratsover 7 years ago

Take a look at this page, it'll give you a much better idea.

"Super strength" just means "concentrate", just like all the other flavorings we use.

Thanks mate. Actually, and I now realize I should have put it in the OQ, I was looking for a simple cheesecake/one fruit mix. The site you linked had plenty of recipes, but the LA CC was just around 2 or 3% of each one, at the most. I like my juices simple with a cheesecake base and a fruit minor. Some people seem to think its a particularly weak CC while others (including LA itself) think it's one of the strongest.

I'm just trying to avoid making small samples of varying amounts to see what works best. I don't particularly like mixing -I just like to get a big batch done twice a year, and be done with all that messy maths-based shite.

1 points

by leapinglabratsover 7 years ago

I've never tried LA Cheesecake, my go to's are CAP New York Cheesecake and TFA Cheesecake Graham Crust, so I can't advise you on that one specifically. But 2-3% sounds like a good start, perhaps you'll want a bit more if you're doing single/duo flavor mixes though. The percentage of the fruit will depend on the fruit.

You should absolutely do a small batch first, even if you find a recipe someone swears by, and even if you hate mixing. Otherwise you'll just end up with a huge batch that you probably won't enjoy. What you could do is start low, taste it, then add flavoring if you want more.

Im sure these kind of posts are quite regular on here and hoping someone can help me out as my math is very poor :( I have been given 50ml of 50:50 Vg/Pg 9mg nicotine mix from a friend but as im still trying to get off the nasties i need to increase the nicotine as a MTL vapour i need roughly 14-18mg of nicotine. Would someone be able to help me out and tell me how much nicotine i will need to add to this to make this possible?

2 points

by chewymidgetover 7 years agoThe Colonel

You can't make the finished nicotine concentration higher than the base nicotine concentrate. You'd need to buy a higher mg/ml concentrated nicotine to get to the numbers you want.

2 points

by FitChemist432over 7 years ago

Yeah, that's what he asked. It confused me for a minute to though until I read it again.

2 points

by FitChemist432over 7 years ago

It depends on your volume of liquid you are trying to make and the strength of the new nicotine source you use. Do you have that information? Say you buy a 100mL botte of 100mg/mL nicotine stock, you would need to add some of that higher nicotine stock to your 50mL bottle of 9mg/mL to make it into an 18mg/mL strength bottle.

So: (50mL)(9mg/mL) + (XmL) * (100mg/mL) = (50+XmL)(18mg/mL)

So, rearranging for X: 82X = 450, then X = 5.49mL of a 100mg/mL nicotine stock will need to be added to produce 55.49mL of 18mg/mL strength eliquid.

Just placed a new order with chefsflavours and was just shy of their free delivery amount so figured I'd grab a bargain from their sale section.

Anyway, was feeling adventurous and decided to play my own little game of flavour roulette by ordering something from TFA called "musk candy". It has no picture, or description so I'm going in completely blind, but for £0.50 who cares? It's exciting!

So who here can elaborate on what the hell I've just ordered? u/ID10-T I'm looking at you.... You love the obscure flavours?!

3 points

by HocusKrokusover 7 years agoHis Bearded Holiness

Musk candy is a "rose" ish candy. It's very perfumey, start low (under 2%) if you can get past the smell test. Not a flavor for everyone, it can be a bit off putting to some. I like it though.

Simple fruits. Dark berries primarily. Stay away from anything very ripe/pungent because the perfumey notes in Musk Candy will create the devils anus in your olfactory and it will haunt you for the rest of your days.

Nicotine River has a review posted for FA Wow, which I just got in the mail today. One of of their reviews, they have a user stating the following.

https://www.nicotineriver.com/collections/flavor-extracts/products/flavourart-wow

"“The flavor matches that description without a doubt. Unfortunately for us the "wow" factor was how spot on it was vs how much we enjoyed the flavor.

Pro: Tastes exactly like the description.

Con: The flavor didn't have that combustive magic that fully satisfies.

Conclusion: I didn't take any stars away because it really does taste like the real thing (as advertised), but I would like to see a bit more sweetness and strength. I can't wait to order more flavors by FA, keep up the good work guys.

NOTE: We originally mixed this at 5% flavor which was waaaaay too low. 11% was better but 15% gave us the robust feeling of having just bit into a jelly filled powdered sugar covered donut.”

"but 15% gave us the robust feeling of having just bit into a jelly filled powdered sugar covered donut.”

Its page 2 on the review, and I've seen mixed ideas about you gotta use .000002% or it'll be playdough, then 10-15% and its a wonderful standalone.

What say you?

Ok, first time poster and noob so bare with me as I figure out Reddit. 🤦🏻‍♀️ I keep searching and searching and cannot find definitive answers to flavoring questions with MCT oil. Would I just sub MCT outright in ml for a PG/VG ratio ml??? As in for instance if I wanted to add something to 70/30 blend but instead am going to try MCT would I just use the same amount ml in MCT as I would have in the combo together???

Also, is there an issue with nic and CBD in vaping? I got told that if I mix nic and my CBD it makes it less effective so I’m curious as to those who would know without doubts. I have to use high mg CBD for my medical needs and already use crystal to cut costs because of that - definitely do NOT wanna lower mg in my CBD if nic is gonna do that! 😱

Thanks y’all much appreciate the help in advance

3 points

by PepperMyJabrillover 7 years ago

I’m kinda confused on what you’re trying to do. If I’m understanding correctly, you want to vape flavored MCT oil instead of using the traditional VG/PG liquid? What kind of hardware are you using? Have you vaped MCT before? I can’t say this with complete confidence, but I feel like there might be some solubility issues. Most flavors are carried in PG, and I have no clue how well that will mix with MCT.

As far as mixing your CBD with nicotine- it seems more like an issue of preference than anything else. I’ve read about people enjoying it more this way, and others claim it makes the CBD less effective.

I know there are a few others here who mix CBD liquid, but you might find better answers in a CBD sub.

2 points

by PensivePersykatover 7 years ago

Thanks for the response 😉. Yes, I’m wanying to vape flavored MCT oil rather than traditional PG/VG. From what I’ve seen, the MCT will produce like PG but without the harshness - but I’ve not tried it personally yet but that’s why I’m asking. I use a Reuleaux 2/3 whit Smok TFV8 tank.

I’m trying to figure out how nic could make CBD less effective and I’m thrown for a loop. My only thought is possibly because nic is a stimulating substance and despite making us feel calmer when we need it, it’s actually the opposite. Because of CBD properties trying to mellow it down I would think maybe it kinda cancels it out but I’m not certain if that is the logic or just my old wheels churning lol.

Vapor depot do have some jungle flavours. Can't remember if yellow cake was there. But they also have Nonna's cake if that's of any use to you?

A recipe I saw calls for CAP Double Chocolate. However, BCF only has Double Chocolate V2. Are these more or less the same or a similar situation with Cap's vanilla custard v1 and v2, where v1 is still more delicious and can't be subbed with v2?

Personally I have never tried the V1 but the V2 is delicious. Tastes similar to TFA double chocolate but more full and rounded out. This might lowkey be my fav. Chocolate.

I have a digital scale, 100ml graduated cylinder, some gloves, and disposable pipettes.

I’m wanting to recreate some sweet juices such as the HUNGR juice flavors. Are there any recipes available that are cloning this brand? I want something savory that lingers in my mouth. Will I need sweetener for that?

2 points

by EdibleMalfunctionover 7 years ago

If you have a scale (and it measures down to 0.01 grams) you don’t need a graduated cylinder.

Try the Clone Request Thread for clones.

Sweetener is not responsible for anything lingering in your mouth besides sweetness.

I know I can just mix into a bottle but the mixer I’m getting from liquid barn doesn’t look like it’d fit in a 30ml unicorn bottle. Just shaking the bottle doesn’t seem efficient to me.

3 points

by Apexifiedover 7 years agoSuckling from the teats of Daenerys Targaryen

This mixer has an attachment that fits into even the smallest bottles. The end of it is splits so it expands in the bottle and mixes really well.

I bought it years ago and don't really use it much but at just over $7 it's an inexpensive way to figure out that frothing your juice isn't really beneficial or all that much more efficient (IMHO)

You don’t need a mixer. In fact, you shouldn’t use one.

Anyone ever have “sticks & stones” by bluedot vapors and cloned it succesfully? I love that juice but I’m tired of spending hundreds per year on it. It’s a mango sticky rice. I made some of shyndo’s recipie but it’s way too heavy on the coconut and it drowns out the mango.

I’m looking for a bright/sweet mango dominant with a sticky rice base and a very faint coconut. Any advice? Shyndo calls for flavorah mango which was expensive but doesn’t give me that strong sweet mango like capella’a mango does in other recipies. Thanks for any help.

What's the deal with tobacco?

I've been trying to make a menthol tobacco. I'm up to try #7, currently. (Most recent recipe was about 10% tobacco / 2% 27% menthol solution / 3% 30% ws23 / 0.1% peppermint / 2% bavarian cream)

If I vape it immediately or the next day, it has a nice and bitter tobacco flavor.. kind of like a cigar or a pipe.

..but once it sits and steeps for four or more days, the tobacco completely vanishes. I just picked up my 7th try to see how it was doing and I taste a twinge of peppermint and a small bit of creaminess, along with the cooling.. and that's it.

Does it ever come back? Should I go up to 15% tobacco?.. 20%?..

What’s the Tobacco you’re using? There’s very few tobaccos that I’d ever use at 10%.

2 points

by AnTi90dover 7 years ago

American Tobacco USA Blend - FW / RY4 Type - TFA.

(I ordered RY4 Double from ECX, but they sent me Type.. Still haven't heard back from their support.)

I'm trying to make a tobacco menthol kind of like Valor Vapor's Mintobacco. It's creamy and sweet like caramel and the mint is really subdued. (It also gunks up my coils faster than sweet cereals or sour fruits.) The caramel-like flavor is what got me to try RY4.

3 points

by ChemicalBurnVictimover 7 years agoresident tobacco expert

Those two I don’t have any experience with, but it might be worth a shot using a little less. Maybe try them at 5% before you jump up to 15%. I found this that talks about the FW Tobacco. Could be that they just aren’t good flavors.

If you get things sorted out with ECX and they send you the Double, I’d pick up FE Cigar as well and try it out with 4% TFA RY4 Double/2% FE Cigar. That’s been a pretty good combo for me.
