If you can't post a recipe review where the recipe was posted because the thread is old, consider writing up a full detailed recipe review similar to a flavor review. If you don't want to do that, just leave the review on ATF or ELR if the recipe is posted there, or send a private message to the recipe creator. Or tag them in a comment here. There are plenty of ways to let the mixer know you've enjoyed their stuff besides replying to a recipe post or recipe in the monthly recipe thread.

There's a number of times I'd like to comment on something I find while researching something, but sadly I rarely find full recipes to try. Too few fit my profile... That said, a number of recipes are useful jumping off points, or give a better idea how to utilize some flavor, so I usually check out new writeups.

Are you trying to make a flavored soda using common flavorings or trying to do something unwise by usings soda flavorings to make an e juice?

Depends on the ingredients, some will be good after a few days, others can take weeks. As a rule of thumb, fruits, berries and other light and bright flavors don't need to steep much, whereas dark or heavy flavors such as creams, desserts, tobacco and such may need a bit of time. How much varies greatly. I would recommend sampling your mixes at one week intervals and taking notes to find out for yourself.

Put a few mls of ispropyl alcohol in there, then cover and shake. It will get rid of most flavour residue, and nicely clean your bottles.

Just make sure to rinse thoroughly with water afterwards, you do not want to vape alcohol.

You'll get that from time to time, but I can't say I've ever noticed a difference even after a short steep. Sometimes I don't even rinse the old bottle out, I just mix something else right in preferably with a similar profile.

I have noticed if you leave your bottles upside down when they're gone and empty 99.99% out, maybe rinse the tip/cap quick, the fresh concentrates in your next mix take over rather quickly.

Nothing against a hot rinse or whatever, I just don't get too excited about doing the "vape dishes" as my wife calls them.

Try using that Cuban Supreme at a really low concentration, possibly to sweeten a mix that needs it?

How would you describe the 'sweet' flavor component, out of curiosity? More honey, or sugar, or syrup, or cotton candy, or something else? Sometimes taking advantage of the 'off taste' of a flavor is an effective technique.

Try cuban around 1.5-2% and bav cream around 3%. Throw in 0.25% coconut if you wish. Steep min 5 days. You don't have a lot of options, but if the cuban is too sweet, try using less.

I haven't had any bottle or tank get visibly affected by any concentrate or mix, but it's always a possibility with plastic. HDPE is better than LDPE and both are better than PET, but glass is the only container that won't interact in some way with the chemicals.

This concentrate contains more than one compound that can degrade plastic, but I haven't had any noticeable issues with it. If you're concerned with what you can't see, glass is your only option.

Do you mean TFA Fruit Circles in Milk? FA doesn't have what you described.

FW Fruit Rings is actually a fantastic Fruit Loops flavor. I would honestly skip TFA Fruit Circles or Fruit Circles with Milk. They are way too lemon forward. FW Fruity Flakes is a Fruity Pebbles. It has sugar syrup in it so keep that in mind. I personally avoid it.

Don't forget the actual cereal flavoring though. CAP Cereal 27 or FA Breakfast Cereal are both fantastic.

Did you mean TFA Fruit Circles with Milk?

Yeah stick to flavor west or try the cap silver linings fruit rings it’s alright not too much lemon. I’ve tried most of ooo’s and they are a miss so far along with any TFA. That’s just me though I get too much lemon or cardboard from TFA. I’d suggest trying some of the top ones on alltheflavors that use flavor West if your new to it.

What % are you mixing at? FA Pear is really concentrated, and is great @ .25-.75% to accent other fruit mixes, but doesn't stand well on its own.

Assuming the measurement are correct I would say Olfactory Fatigue. Have you vaped anything else between the two bottles? You might try leaving it alone for a week and coming back to it to freshen your senses.

Per wizard labs wesite on crystal dilution.

> Wizard labs: Recommended usage is a 10% solution consisting of 1 gram menthol crystals to 10ml Propylene Glycol or Ethyl Alcohol. Use the 10% solution as you would any other concentrated flavoring. Solubility in Propylene Glycol is up to 50% and solubility in alcohol is greater than 100%.

If it doesn't dissolve quickly you can just run some warm water and put the bottle under it to warm it up.

Have you tried hitting the what can i make option under the user drop down?

1. Click the "what can I make" button.

2. Sort by rating. Preferably choose a recipe with numerous high ratings and read a little about it, see if it's something you'd like.

Pro Tip: Check the average % used of your ingredients before mixing something without ratings, and leave a rating if you do decide to mix it up.

Even highly regarded recipes aren't everyone's cup of tea. I personally don't like a lot of well reviewed recipes because of just simply one flavoring.

Once you have tried enough flavors you'll get enough experience to be able to make the judgement on weather or not you'll like it. Most of the time I usually start out with a 30ml of something I've never tried. If it's widely outside of what I usually like i'll make a 15-20ml.

The smallest feasible size, because like chewy says, odds are you won't like it. It's pretty hard to mix with precision below 10 ml, so that is generally regarded as the best (or at least minimum) size for testing, but if 30 is the smallest you have then go with that.

In the long run, 10 ml is more than enough to judge the qualities of a mix, at 30 ml you'll either have to vape a lot of juice that you're not entirely happy with, or dump a lot of ingredients that you could have enjoyed in other mixes.

I usually mix 30-60 mls at a time, with whatever bottles are clean. My brother goes through a ton of juice so I just mix up a ton at once. If I don't like a recipe I just dilute it and then change it into a new recipe and it gets vaped eventually. I highly recommend you pick up some small 10 or 15 ml bottles though, they come in handy and they're very cheap!

I mixed up a120 of Another Blueberry Glazed Donut because thats the only empty glass bottle I had left. If I don't like it for some reason Im gonna be a hate vaping fool.

Just bc you have bigger bottles doesn't mean you have to fill them up. I just got a bunch of bottles yesterday but before that I had plenty of 60 or 120ml bottles with only 30 mls mixed in them.

Typically I make test batches of ~30ml, mainly because I don't feel like mixing dilutions of many of my flavors, and I use a lot at sub% levels. So to make measuring easier, (and easier to tweak) I go with a higher minimum weight. Also, it's easy to think a flavor is good when only vaping a few mls... but by the time a 30ml is caped, I know what it really needs to be improved
(Keep in mind, I almost always mix my own experimental recipes, since so few recipes that match my profile and flavors on hand exist. Eventually I expect to find more, but...)

I suspect a lot of people have. I've 'diluted' overly-strong juices by mixing a batch of unflavored and adding the overpowering juice, things like that. Don't bother so much now that I've got more flavorings...

Cream works in most mixes. If it's a fruity mix you could add some complementary fruit.

The little I tampered with commercial liquids before I stopped buying them altogether, I mostly just diluted them. Like Cosmic Fog Nutz, so good. Turns out it was just as good diluted 1:1, double the juice for free. But then I realized I could make something very similar on my own so I stopped buying it.

Yea. You'll soon find that a lot of concentrates differ in shade and color, from slightly yellow to almost black.

Do not breathe your juice. That is only for flavors that contain alcohol, and that will actually evaporate on its own during normal steeping. Taking the cap off doesn’t only let alcohol escape. Also skip the warm bath. It is not necessary. You should be shaking every component before you use them, and then shaking your bottle when you are finished.

Depends on the flavors used. Can you give an example? I’m not sure what your nicotine had to do with this part of your question.

You should neither breathe nor apply heat to your mixes. All you do is remove flavor. If it's too strong, use less flavor.

Fruits volatiles are small and easily escape from mix, while creams are large and like to stay put. When you heat and breathe the juice, you basically remove the fruits and keep the creams.

A lot of people hate FA Joy as it is but using it that high is really a make or break it for people. I personally like it that high but im one of the few. No length of steeping is going to solve the issue IMO. Here's what I would do, I would intentionally mute the mix. Adding TFA Ethyl Malitol to it might be able to kill the, uh, joy just enough to make it vapeable. Start at .5%-.75% and give it 3-5 days. It's a long shot but depending on how much you made you could just pour it down the sink.

I remember that being decent for a few weeks, then I tried it after about 6 weeks, and it was like sweet popcorn. Still not bad, but unexpected and slightly weird.

I'd personally try diluting it in another simple mix of something like FA Zappola or CAP Cinnamon Danish Swirl + a little of your favorite cream flavor. Here is a rather lame post explaining the process, and I've saved some garbage mixes with this method. Just don't try to go overboard, less flavorings makes it less complicated.

Not sure how local you are going to be focusing on, or where you are, but keep in mind you can’t really do this in the US anymore, unless you have access to yacht-loads of money.

If it doesn't taste like anything already finding a different strawberry all together would be a better option than adding something to this flavor.

It's normal for it to not be clear. It's also normal not to like it. I've found it useful at a very low % but by itself it's not very good. Try a different mango flavor.

You ideally want to get 5-10ml size bottles for flavors for your first go around. You have no idea what you're going to like. Getting 4oz's of a flavor is a lot and at that price it doesn't leave a lot of room for getting a good variety.

Go with one of the following vendors - GremlinDIY,Bullcityflavors or Nicotine river. Find highly rated recipes from this list that sound good to you. Buy 10ml bottles of the flavorings to start.

$1/Oz sounds like a good deal, unless the flavors are nasty. If you get good flavors that you'll use reasonably often, it sounds great.

Liquid Barn will ship 48mg nicotine to most European countries, but the shipping cost was around $40 when I ordered 250ml from them last year.

I ordered 72mg nicotine the other day from Everything Liquid and shipping was £30 for 500ml. Remains to be seen if customs here in Ireland will let that through though, given that it's over the 48mg TPD limit. I figured it was worth the risk since if it does come through it will last me a very long time.

Never used nic-shots, most of the people I know who use them, use them in shortfill bottles with pre-mixed juices. Because I mix a lot (for my friends as well as for myself) I'd rather work with higher concentrations and fewer bottles, since it's less fiddly.

2-3% FA Fuji and 1-2% FA Liquid Amber steeped for a few days is a really good start. Should be able to build on that.

Sounds like you want a mulled cider recipe. There should be some out there. I've got one still in development, may be a while before it's done.

As I am also a beginner (DIY experimenting since October) i have some tips for sure:

1. read the flavor wiki. make testers w/o nicotine so you can rip them all night without getting high. diy is way too exciting but it is a veeeeeeery patient and slow process. you will learn all about these flavors and how they work with each other and it's just crazy how different each one is. it's like you will be dating quite a few people all at the same time and have to keep up with all their quirks. most of the time you'll be wondering why they forgot your birthday but then one day, some shiny flavor will capture your imagination and drive you wild.

2. i highly recommend checking out the best 2/3 flavor recipes list. that was a great way for me to see that recipes dont need to be complicated to be satisfying and you can see how one might build off of one combination base. [[mustard milk]] has been a great starter recipe, for example. strawberry and ice cream. then you can make it with different SB flavors and see how they all perform (just with VBIC!). or you can add a drop of this or that if you want to layer in a glaze. I found it helps to have a solid base to begin to ignite your imagination.

3. 2/3 flavor recipes also helps to keep your wallet fuller! this is a deep ass rabbit hole. I second using All The Flavors (ATF) and ELR (e-liquid-recipes). Search by flavor stash on ELR but then make sure to rank by ratings. and even then dont trust that itll be good. I find ATF have loads of flavors in their recipes I dont have. It can be frustrating. so I only buy flavors to make ones that are extreeeeemely recommended like the ones in the best of 2017 thread.

4. READ! the wiki is incredible. the reddit rules. theres so much information that passes through here, it's insane. as you ask a few questions, you'll get advice and often from some crazy knowledgeable mixers. I really enjoy reading the flavor reviews even if i'll never buy fried chicken flavor or whatever. I love seeing how people approach building and crafting recipes.

• Don’t order flavors based on what you think sounds good. Look up recipes, pick flavors based on those.

• Both ATF and ELR have the feature that allows you to input your flavors and find out what you can make. I do not recommend ELR for this. We also have a thread for that purpose in this sub.

I pretty much exclusively DTL and do like 95% Tobacco. I’ve got a MTL tank, but don’t really care much for it.

No it is fine it just might not be as much as a throat hit as you might be use to.

That's how I do it (DTL) but I am considering getting an MTL tank to dedicate to tobaccos for when I'm out and about and don't want to choke bystanders with huge clouds. Im curious of the difference in experience and am glad so far they havent triggered me like I was worried they would.

If you got the flavor right and just lack the cold, try adding WS-23 or Koolada (WS-3).

Do NOT use that at 15%. 1.5% is probably too much. Try .5% Perique Black if you want it as the dominant flavor in a mix.

You shouldn’t be aiming for any blanket percentage. The total percentage is determined only by using your flavors at the proper amounts
