As always, the purpose of this thread is to gather the community to explore a flavor and its many uses. And it's also to have FUN!
Post recipes containing this week's Flavor of the Week, as the star or in a supporting role, with or without development notes. Talk about other people's recipes that use it. Compare and contrast different manufacturers' versions of the FOTW. Ask for help using that flavor in general or to achieve something specific, offer advice, brainstorm ideas, consider substitutions, suggest pairings... really anything at all as long as it's on topic.
#This week's flavor is: Vegetals
How did that get to be the FOTW?
Someone requested rhubarb, and I didn't want the other vegetable and vegetals/verdant flavors to feel left out. So rhubarb, of course, but also cucumber, lovage, avocado, carrot, cactus, basil?, bell pepper? All the veggies and green things!
If you're not interested in this FOTW, please take this opportunity and comment to request one that interests you (or send me a PM to do that).

FLV - Carrot...what can I say about you except that you are unique, but great at what you do! It's a very crisp, fresh shaved carrot. Got a slight wetness and slight sweetness to it. Very accurate in my tastes.
If you want to mix this solo, i would say about 1.5% to 2% for a pretty full flavor carrot. Why anyone would like this, is beyond me. To each their own. In a mix I suggest .1% - .3% to get a cripsness used as a small accent, about .5% to 1% to get a good carrot flavor as a back note, and 1.5% - 2.5% is a good range to bring this carrot very forward and make it the start of the recipe. about 2.5% is where I drew the limit of pushing it before I started getting odd offnotes from it that I can't remember, but I remember not liking it as much.
You can use it with fruits at a very low % (.1 - .25) and it adds a fresh crispness to some of the mushier fruits. It is so fresh, that it is hard to "bake" this flavor. I worked with it in a mix to make it a baked dessert, and it took very heavy and dense flavors to bring it down. I don't see it working well in a carrot cake due to the nature of needing a lot of work to bake.
Gajar Halwa is a baked carrot pudding. This is an interesting baked carrot dessert, but is remarkably tasty after a couple of weeks, even longer if you can wait.
It is also used in Cant Trip (Cantrips remixed) to be a supporting flavor to TFA - Honeysuckle. A few weird ways to use carrot.
Fun, thank you!
Think I can mix it with orange Jello and pineapple tidbits like my Granny does?
I wonder if you can make a carrot cake vape with this. Although carrot cake doesn't exactly taste like carrot anymore. Does the flv taste like raw carrot, juiced carrot, sautéed carrot, or like baked carrot?
I've spent 30+ years acquiring a taste for different vegetables. I don't know that I'm fully ready to vape vegetables yet.
Not even cucumber? It's so refreshing
It's on my list of flavors that I bought and haven't tried yet. I think most of my deal is that I see a tasty looking recipe where I only need 1 or 2 flavors to make it, so I add them to my order list, order when I get enough for free shipping, then forget what the hell the recipe was that I even ordered the flavor for.
I use the “favorites” on ATF as a “to-mix” list. Mark something I want to mix as a favorite, unmark it after I’ve mixed it, tried it, and written a review. It helps with the problem you’re describing. It would be even more helpful if it wasn’t 100+ recipes long.
I am playing around with FLV Basil this month and it's amazing!
I am working on a Watermelon Mint Lemonade recipe for my January Mixers Club entry. I have only tried one iteration so far because I got a new fish and tank for myself for Christmas and I am in fish tank hell right now lol! If you think DIY e juice is a rabbit hole, buy a fish tank!
The watermelon and lemonade need work but the one thing I got right was the mint part which is a combo of INW Natural Mint and FLV Basil. The drink from Chic Filet that inspired this vape is characterized by a deep mint-leaf flavor rather than a cooling, gum kind of mint. This combo captures it very nicely.
I will try to get my butt down to the basement tonight and mix another batch. I have some new lemons to try in lieu of an actual lemonade flavor. Once I get the lemonade and watermelon flavors strong enough I may end up upping the percentages on the mint leaf combo. Right now it is 0.25 % FLV Basil and 0.33% INW Natural Mint. Anyhoo, when I have a better handle on the general profile I will post an update with an example recipe.
