FA Cooked Ham
submitted over 7 years ago by drawaesSavory Dinner Vapes

Warning: this flavour is not on the "vapable" list from FA, also this is my first online flavour review so I have clearly copied the format. Finally I am new and so everything should be taken with a grain of salt.

Setup: My oldest least loved RTA, a troll with dual Kanthal Flat claptons running at 50 watts (0.15 ohms).
Testing: FlavourArt Cooked Ham. 1.5% with the rest VG no nicotine, shake and vape.
Flavour Description: Straight away it smells like ham, like warm ham you just pulled out of the oven if you cooked one, its pretty strong, normally I have to put a bottle up to my nose to get the smell but I can smell this as soon as I get the lid off.

On the inhale, well it tastes like a big chunk of cold ham from the fridge, a little sweeter than normal, like maybe you covered it in honey but with none of the honey deliciousness.

The exhale is more "hot ham", almost over cooked but you know what, other than the fact I am inhaling hot ham it's not so bad.

It's pretty wet from what I can tell, and watery its not really got a "body" to it at all, but it has a lot of inhale and exhale flavour, the troll normall gives me very little flavour but this its really right up in your face, even after the exhale the flavour is there in my throat. In saying that there is nothing that can't be removed with a sip of beer so it's not totally disgusting.

Off-flavours: ~~Now I have chuffed through a refill, (I was enjoying it okay) I seem to be getting a slight metallic after taste, not one that I have ever had on these coils... I am not sure what that is about.~~ Changed out the old coils, all is good again, hot ham heaven.

Uses & Pairings: It has me interested, probably not at 1.5% again, but I have some Cured ham I am going to try next. Maybe it could be layered, maybe it could be put with some Kentucky Bourbon and some pineapple or honey but I think down very low like 0.25%. Its not bad but it's no single flavour.

I would like to know if anyone had some non sweet ideas for melon, and for giving it a more meaty body, and some butter, I think it needs butter.

Second Opinions: None that I could find (not sure if that says more about me or others sense of adventure?)

Well, you really hammed up that review.

Seriously though, thanks for the time and your notes on the flavor. The formatting may be borrowed but works great.

I have to say it's not single flavour adv... It might be a day or two before I try the cured Ham.

But you did have good pairing suggestions.

A little pineapple and brown sugar, and it really may end up an ADV noone saw coming.

New JAM monster sandwich flavor coming soon?

Of course it's not a single flavor vape... it needs green eggs.

And remember, 'cured ham' (from FA) is probably more Prosciutto based than anything like ham.

Finally I can make Lindsay's classic Hot Ham Water into an ejuice. Huzzah!

I tried it out on two other vapers at work. Both commercial only juice people. The feedback

It actually really tastes like a good Ham. In fact one said it was much better than the hot Ham posh sandwhich he had last week. This was quickly followed up with "but I am not sure it's something I want to vape".

Other comments included... "It's just wrong, but it tastes right" and "I wish crisps tasted this good".

I feel like this is the best use of the weird savory flavors... Letting people try them as a prank/gag. in my RF Fried Chicken review I suggested these uses:

>best uses: Trash can. Surprising unsuspecting friends. surprising suspecting friends. Mostly just pawn this off on your friends for laughs. garbage bin.

It's like peeling off the label for the jones soda holiday flavors (thanksgiving especially) and giving it to a friend.

They weren't unsupecting though they were willing participants. It was a very ethical experiment ... No vapers we're harmed in the testing of this juice.

See, I think there should be unsuspecting vapers. Bait and switch with some strawberry cream. Sure, they'll eventually get you back (maybe) but it'll be worth the disgusted look and race to a strong chaser... like rubbing alcohol or straight whiskey.

I'll tell you what, I tried to measure 1% for 5ml but I was HAM fisted with the dripping so it ended as 1.5%

Heya... not entirely on-topic, but I'm somewhat new to DIY and also using Troll RTAs, which I find aren't producing exceptional flavor. They've been great to learn on, no doubt, and some primo custom coils helped a lot, but.... any suggestions on what RTA is a logical move from them? I'm thinking a new RTA will be my "merry christmas to me" this year.

Edit: fantastic review, btw. Add some buttery/eggy flavor and call it moons over My-hammy.

The Kaees Solomon is the new Troll in my opinion. As far as small form factor, easy to build and wick, and tremendous flavor. It replaced the troll in my personal list of favorites, and is right up there with my all time overall favorites. Oh and this OP is brave.

Please mix it with TFA Pineapple and report back.

I don't have a good pineapple at the moment so this is going to have to wait for my next order unfortunately.

You've made me want to try this flavor even more now. Gonna have to get an order after the holidays maybe.

So glad you started doing this. Made a post a couple months ago seeing the flavor art cooking flavors made of the same ingredients as the vape flavor.

Please keep doing this lmao. Careful on the chillies though
