Weekly 'Suggest a Recipe for my Flavors' Thread - Week of December 08, 2017
submitted almost 8 years ago by AutoModerator

Got a bunch of flavors but not sure how to make them work together? Post your list here, and our team of semi-professional mixologists will make suggestions for you! If you are impatient and want to do this on your own, here are a couple of good links:

  • /u/daath has a nice website that has this functionality, but you will need to register to make it work. It is not very intuitive but if you work with it you can input your flavors and get a list of recipes that you can make. IMO this is the better site if you have the patience to make it work for you. Edit2: to get this to work, first set up an account. Then add your flavors to the stash (under my page / my flavor stash). hit save. Then go back to the front page and click the link next to the search field, "Search by flavor stash". You can select a couple of your flavors and recipes that have those will pop up.
  • This site has a nice big search button with just what you're looking for.

Happy Mixing!

by wh1skeyk1ngalmost 8 years agoThanks for reading this flair

I see you have everything for Grack Juice minus CAP Sweet Strawberry... You could make it, but maybe sub TFA Watermelon Candy and it would still be enjoyable.

I see you are lacking some cream flavors. Meringue is great, but lacks body. It works as a sweetener around 1%.

Try

  • TFA Dragonfuit 4%

  • INW Grape 3%

  • FA Meringue 1%

  • TFA Koolada 0.75%

I made Grack Juice, with strawberry Ripe and it turned out good. Not sure if it tastes the same as the original mix but I'm enjoying it. As for the recipe you suggested I'll mix it up tonight and see how I like it. Still getting used to how flavours work with each other. Thanks!

There's a Betty clone that calls for

%10 forest fruit

%15 sweetner

Ive never tried Betty but this taste like "premium" coil gunking goodness to me. I added a bunch of background flavors and other people like it but I can't taste as of about 4-5 days ago.

15% sweetener? Wtf

by Blitz00almost 8 years ago

Yeh I made a bottle my friend who was into better liked it. I think I only went %10 tho.

Search Betty clone on Google. if I had more data, I would for ya.

Wow, I'll definitely try that recipe, it sounds delectable. Thanks for the list too, I'm so excited to make some more juices! I actually just lost my list of personal recipes so this is a great help.

Hi Sacchen I'm new to the game too, but I can suggest some flavours for you. Look at things like, graham crusts, cookies, cake batters, muffins, cheesecakes, cupcakes, vanillas, biscuits, yellow cakes etc etc. Something to mix with your fruit selection. Good flavs to have in stock are Cap Vanilla Custard V1, Cap New York Cheesecake, LA Cream Cheese Icing, Meringues, Marshmallows, Caramels, Butterscotches, TFA Dragonfruit is great to combine fruits, and also some kind of citrus mix (used to cut through or balance out too-sweet recipes). Cheers mate

Ooh thank you so much for your suggestions, guess I've got some research to do!

I never tried this but how about:

FA Passion Fruit @1.5%

CAP Mango @1.5%

CAP Guava @1.5%

TFA Vanilla swirl @1%

FW Orange @0.5%

By the way i know a lot of people that hate TFA Honeydew v2, i'm not much of a fan either, but my girl loves Honeydew V2 at around 6% with 1.5% TFA Bav. Cream and 1% TFA Van. Swirl.

I've heard that a lot of people it too, I actually way prefer CAP Honeydew Melon over it, TFA's version tastes almost woody to me (but I still had to see for myself if it was as bad as everyone said haha)

by Civinskoalmost 8 years ago

Btw, since you have a lot of fruit i assume you like fruity stuff, try getting TFA Dragonfruit and INW Cactus in your next order, they both do something special to fruit mixes when used low.

Oh, and FA Custard is great with fruit aswell.

OoO chocolate peanutbutter cup. I'm not opposed to buying flavoring to turn it into something good. I tried it on its own and it's pretty chemically and I haven't found any recipes online that use it.

2 points

by Civinskoalmost 8 years ago

I never tried that flavor, but can you tell me the %?

Usually when something is tasting a little chemical its caused by using too much. Maybe try going low, if you're already low go lower.

It might be that the flavor is just bad or you simply don't like it.

2 points

by Lazyhereticalmost 8 years ago

I used it on it's own at 10% and let it steep for 2 weeks. OoO's website suggests using it at 8-10%.

2 points

by Civinskoalmost 8 years ago

Try it lower, try it higher if you feel like it but i dont think it'll be any better if you go higher.

Again, it might just be that you dont like the flavor.

I have FA lemon sicilly TFA blueberry extra CAP sweet strawberry CAP juicy peach CAP juicy lemon CAP sweet mango Liquid Barn blue raspberry. I also have the liquid barn flavor enhancers. I have yet to make one decent recipe. Please help

by Blitz00almost 8 years ago

There may be a decent lemonade ish flavor in here but I haven't tried many of these yet. Sometimes it tastes better after a bit of a steep.

2 points

by onlyspecialoccasionsalmost 8 years ago

They are all so dry and lackluster. I mixed up a CAP sweet strawberry and LB Sweetener and it is the only palatable mix I've made. Still not anywhere near the premium juices i was getting. Do you have any advice on a flavoring i could get to improve these fruit flavors? I see a lot of people add marshmallow, Bavarian cream, or vanilla custard to make mixes better.

2 points

by juthincalmost 8 years ago

INW Cactus clears up any 'dry' effect.

I bought MBV Thug Juice. It sounded delightful, A watermelon Grape menthol punch. This is holy menthol hell, with a perfume aftertaste. And I was a Kool or Newport smoker. MBV said no need to steep. I am going to steep the unopened one I have untill Christmas. Any suggestion to mix with the open one? I hate to throw it out.

Let it steep aswell, cap on in a dark cool place.
