Hey all, I got a new bottle inawera raspberry after running out for a recipe I’ve been making a lot. I had the original bottle for maybe about a year or so.
Now the recipe tastes way too strong of raspberry. It completely overpowers the mix of blueberry, banana cream, and strawberry. It hasn’t steeped yet but it’s never been like this before, even directly after mixing.
Was my old bottle just so old that it lost its potency? Should I now readjust my favorite recipe or just let it steep a while?
Edit: Forgot to mention the banana cream bottle is also fresh, although the original one wasn’t as old
If it was blackberry- raspberry, that concentrate was reformulated early this year. If it was raspberry (malina koncentrat), then idk.

Definitely, if you can smell it outside the bottle it's losing aroma volatiles to the air. I had a bottle of tfa honeydew, a pretty strong flavoring, that was almost 2 years old I just threw out and replaced. it had weakened to the point I couldn't smell the honeydew in mixes anymore, and could barely taste it.
Damn I gotta restock some of my old concentrates. I have too many anyways
It was still usable tbh just not nearly as strong, I only threw out like 5ml of it and only because I use honeydew in one of my adv mixes so I'd rather have it more fresh. They won't necessarily go bad but they will change over time.
If you want longer term storage glass droppers, or even better bottles with polycone caps, should last much longer than plastic droppers because the seal is stronger. Basically the same storage principles that apply to nic should help keep flavors fresher longer. I don't personally bother with glass bottles since I don't buy anything but tfa strawberry in a large size.
edit: if you're buying large sizes (>30ml), you can keep them in glass bottles with polycone caps like the ones bull city sells (I use these for nic storage), and transfer a working amount to like 15ml bottles for easier dispensing if mixing by weight.
