Flavour Apprentice Raspberry Sweet super harsh for anyone else?

Got a DIY order in today and I got raspberry sweet and capella glazed donut.

Whipped up a raspberry filled donut and after a few recipes it's absolutely delicious.

Now, my recipe isn't perfect and I'm still tweaking it obviously, but it's a great start and base to get to a final destination in the future.

Here's my recipe:

TFA Raspberry Sweet: 6% Cap Glazed Donut: 4% TFA Dragon fruit: 2% TFA Bavarian Cream: 2%

I love love love the sweet raspberry taste, but the juice is super harsh.

Is there anyway to make it less harsh? Will steeping tone it down a bit? Is the flavor just a harsh one?

For the current mix, wait a few days, it should calm down a bit. Next batch, I would suggest dropping the raspberry to 3% and adding in either 1% FA or 0.5% INW Raspberry.

Also the dragonfruit pairs with the raspberry to bring it out and highlight some more fruity flavor. It pairs well with fruits such as strawberry, blueberry, watermelon, peach etc at low percentages to bring it out a bit more. I use it at 2% or less in almost all of my fruity sweet recipes. Also, it's just plain delicious.

The Bavarian cream is fairly obvious in this recipe to me. It brings out the sweet, creamy part of a donut. Also, it's another one I add to bakery recipes to add a milky, creamy, almost vanilla-y undertone

What's your recipe for a raspberry donut?

6% raspberry and 3% donut?

I'm sure that'd be good, and it's a good starting place, but this recipe has a little bit more to it but is still super simple

Just too much Raspberry imo. I don't think I've gone above 2% with that flavor. More than that and the mix tastes like ketchup

Ketchup water put on cardboard. But yeah, for me anything above to and I don't taste anything else. But, I actually find CAP Glazed donut really harsh for a week, then straight playdough.

Just kidding, but it got waaayy less harsh after sitting in my cabinet for 24 hours. Curious to as what it'll turn into over more time, but I don't think it'll change much

I've only ever used sweet raspberry in cheesecakes and creams I think. It's never been harsh but maybe a 0.25% of smooth would help?

I left it as is and let it sit for a day. Shook it, filled my RTA, and it's absolutely delicious my friend!!!

You could tone the donut down to 3%, and up the Dragonfruit to 3%, maybe add some strawberry ripe at 1% to bring out some more berry to it. I'm a cook and have been for 4 years, I'm not sure if recipes are fairly easy to make or if I just know what I like but the recipe as stated in the OP is fantastic after a day! Definitely recommend it, I'll be tweaking it tomorrow in small batches but it's fine as is!

Not super sweet, not super fruity. And more importantly, not harsh anymore!

I find the cap chocolate glazed donuts to be harsh. Not sure about the glazed donut specifically but I wouldn't be surprised if they share ingredients. When I mix up raspberry I like to use 1.5 FA raspberry and 3.0 TFA Sweet raspberry, usually with a few limes, and it's nothing compared to the harshness of bronuts.

Ya chocolate donuts, and yeah I'm only mixing the one bottle of it up. It's harsh and doesn't taste super good, so I'm working on my own cream filled donut, been steeping 10 days or so now, I think its time to try it.

It's not harsh for me, are you sure it's the raspberry? Bavarian cream is harsh for me.

The cream will smoothen out as it steeps. Fruits are really the only thing that are GTG as a shake n vape.

TFA Marshmallow or INW Dragonfruit will make it a little less harsh.

I personally don't get any harshness.

Dude this recipe is minimum 2 weeks steep. If it's V2 Cap Glazed that's 3.
