Types of container and a scale that needs calibrating could explain small variables, but an actual change in flavor? That doesn't really make sense. Are the containers are air tight? Do you leave the caps off or apply heat? Steep in a cool and dark place?

I would suggest making a flavor base and using that for both batches that you mix and steep the same. If the small and the large batch should end up tasting different, then there's some issue with the large container.

Might as well calibrate the scale too, or verify that it measures accurately.

I found a decent deal on 500ml amber glass bottles on Amazon awhile ago and I'm in love with them for long term storage. What are you using? And when do you notice the flavor change?

Like labrat said it's probably the container. Did you thoroughly wash the large bottles? A lot of times plastic containers will hold odors/flavors unless washed out and dried well.

Maybe a other VG and PG from another vendor? Also imo flavour concentrates change from time to time without the customer noticing. Happened with "Pinkman" , the first time was awesome, second was not near as good and the third bottle was horrible. Also in case of the second one VG manufacturer changed and it tasted like almond.
