Weekly 'Suggest a Recipe for my Flavors' Thread - Week of November 24, 2017
submitted almost 8 years ago by AutoModerator

Got a bunch of flavors but not sure how to make them work together? Post your list here, and our team of semi-professional mixologists will make suggestions for you! If you are impatient and want to do this on your own, here are a couple of good links:

  • /u/daath has a nice website that has this functionality, but you will need to register to make it work. It is not very intuitive but if you work with it you can input your flavors and get a list of recipes that you can make. IMO this is the better site if you have the patience to make it work for you. Edit2: to get this to work, first set up an account. Then add your flavors to the stash (under my page / my flavor stash). hit save. Then go back to the front page and click the link next to the search field, "Search by flavor stash". You can select a couple of your flavors and recipes that have those will pop up.
  • This site has a nice big search button with just what you're looking for.

Happy Mixing!

I'm not sure what kind of flavours you're into, but Cap Vanilla Custard v1 and Sugar Cookie v1 have been really great with all fruity flavours. With the addition of Vanilla custard, I'd recommend this recipe for a nice full-mouth chewy peach (became my ADV when I got the percentages right for me, I ran out of vanilla custard pretty quick though as it's used in almost everything I mix)

  • 3% TFA Bavarian Cream

  • 8% TFA Juicy Peach

  • 4% Cap Vanilla Custard

  • 1~2% Marshmallow depending on preference (I think this with VC adds most of the thick chewy mouthfeel, I used Cap's Marshmallow for this and at 2% it was a bit too chewy for my liking- 2% was fine for me with TFA)

Juicy Peach might be a bit high for some, this probably isn't for you if you get harshness from Juicy Peach

Sadly i do get the harshness from the peach and i have to use it at very low percentages :( Thank you for the suggestions though, and ill grab some cap custard and sugar cookie :D Any suggestions on creating a good taffy?

I'd be tempted to try it with another fruit flavour at one of your usual mixing percentages when you grab the vanilla custard man, I reckon it's a fairly good base for any thick chewy fruit recipe! :)

You're only one off from God's milk by skiddlzninja.

I've been looking to make God's Milk by /u/skiddlzninja too, or the original Mother of God's Milk by, but my recent flavor order had the Bavarian Cream stolen in customs or the flavor shop forget to send it. I do have TFA Vanilia Swirl and TFA Toasted Marshmallow if there's anyway I could sub for the Bavarian Cream???

Any recs?

I've really become a fan of grape ejuices, I've never bought a single commercial grape ejuice that I didn't think was awesome. Now I'm trying to make my own so I don't have to spend so much cash and it's not working.

I have CAP Concord Grape w/ Stevia and TFA Grape Soda. I made a 10ml bottle of CAP concord grape at 15% and 2 drops of TFA Sweetener but I couldn't taste much. Next I tried adding 10 drops of TFA Grape Soda which added more flavor on the inhale but still nothing compared to commercial juices. I got desperate and put 2 drops of TFA Dragonfruit and 2 drops CAP Harvest Berry in next and now on the inhale I'm getting a little something nice but exhale is bland and nothing great. Still no where near an intense grape ejuice like the ones I buy from Malaysia.

When I go back and drip a little commercial ejuice, my RDA goes BOOM: crazy intense grape goodness! Any suggestions on what I can do to improve my mix? I keep seeing people mix with FLV Grape, it will take a long time for me to get it out here in Vietnam but I'd make an order if it'd help.

CAP Sweet Mango

TFA Philippine Mango

CAP Sweet Tangerine

TFA Sweetener

TFA Dragonfruit

FA Fuji Apple

CAP Sweet Lychee

CAP Sweet Strawberry RF

TFA Strawberry Ripe

CAP Harvest Berry

CAP Pink Lemonade

CAP Concord Grape

FA Pear

TFA Grape Soda

Would it be easier for you to get Flavor West Grape Soda than FLV Grape?

Living in a small town in Vietnam it's all about the same difficulty to get flavors except for a few CAP/FA/TFA offered by Flavorland in Thailand.

I've also heard that Nic River's Ocean Myst is very good. I was thinking of getting these flavors and crossing my fingers! I'm willing to pay the extra shipping and wait if I can figure out how to make great grape ejuice forever and ever.

Is it even possible to mix up an awesome grape juice without having certain complimentary flavors to make a juice pop? I so often see recipes with many flavors in very small percentages, like fuji apple .5%, dragonfruit 1%, peach 1%...etc etc

I haven’t tried Ocean Myst yet but while 4% FLV Grape or 8% FW Grape Soda (if you don’t mind the high Sucralose in that one) makes for a nice grape juice, those kind of other flavors will help a lot.

Is there anything I can do with FLV Tropical Punch? Tried it standalone and was not impressed.

What % did you try and what do you have to mix with it?

Tried at 1.5% 80VG. Here are my other flavors. Thanks!

It's very weak for FLV. Test it again at 5%.

That is an impressive stash; I'm sure once you try the Tropical Punch at a higher % you'll think of some fruits to mix with it.
