As always, the purpose of this thread is to gather the community to explore a flavor and its many uses. And it's also to have FUN!
Post recipes containing this week's Flavor of the Week, as the star or in a supporting role, with or without development notes. Talk about other people's recipes that use it. Compare and contrast different manufacturers' versions of the FOTW. Ask for help using that flavor in general or to achieve something specific, offer advice, brainstorm ideas, consider substitutions, suggest pairings... really anything at all as long as it's on topic.
This week's flavor is: FIG
How did that get to be the FOTW?
It was requested. If you're not interested in this FOTW, please take this opportunity and comment to suggest one that interests you (or send me a PM to do that).

I’ve been getting freaky with my Fig tobacco lately and it’s been doing me good. FLV Fig is the only Fig flavor I have, and it’s probably the only one I need. It’s yummy. It’s not super bright, and it’s just the right amount of sweet. It’s nestles itself right in the mid range of base heavy and top heavy.
INW Fortuna Strike is a sort of Fig/prune flavor that I love, but can be a bit of a pain to work with since it gets covered up pretty easily. I really wish someone would come out with a good prune flavor. TFA Raisin let me down when I finally tried it a week ago. Had a bit of an incense taste to it. Maybe 2% was a bit high to test it, but I couldn’t really find anything in it to give me hope. But that’s a little off topic now.
Basically, I like FLV Fig.
I too love FLV fig and it fits so well in tobaccos, sometimes I even get an ashy/tobacco note when vaping it in a non tobacco recipe. It's also great with INW Bahraini Apple Gold. Also, maybe your prune/plum craving can be satisfied with FLV oatmeal raisin which is pure raisin and works very well with tobaccos, but you will need to dilute it first because it is crazy strong and covers everything, unless you do 30ml tests, a drop in 30ml is more than enough for an accent.
I’m putting that Oatmeal Raisin on the Black Friday list.
Haven’t done a whole lot of stuff with Bahraini Apple Gold, but I’m really interested in finding a way to use it. Not too thrilled with the anise note in it, but I think paired with the right thing I could maybe get behind it.
Will it help give tobaccos that "the way a fresh pack of cigarettes smells when you open it" aroma?
I've never tried FLV fig but have FLV sweet fig. It's a dark, syrupy flavor, cooked fig flavor. Somewhat pungent with deep sweetness similar the pungent/sweet that FA bilberry has.
I've put it on the back burner but I was working on a fig newton at one point and got the filling pretty well nailed down at .75% sweet fig, .15% FLV oatmeal raisin, .4% FLV red apple, and .4% FLV cream. Couldn't get the bread/cookie down perfect and kinda forgot about it till just now actually.
Apparently you'll be a hero to many DIYers if you figure it out.
Personally, I can't see the appeal in wanting to vape a Fig Newton, I don't like to eat them and its not going to help keep you regular like eating them. But people say the same thing not understanding why I'd want to vape pickle so <shrugs>
I actually need to make your pickle juice for a friend. She regularly buys a dill pickle juice that is just rancid.
Ehh, for me it was more of a nostalgia thing from eating them as a kid. It was good, but I wouldn't want to vape it all day which is part of why I forgot about it.
