Long time no see, selfpost.
I've been... less than active on the face of the subreddit lately, mostly sticking to my modmail and popping into threads when tagged. But it's time I share a recipe with you all. The reason for sharing this one now is twofold.
First, it's a warm pumpkin spiced custard pipe tobacco, and if that doesn't fit this season perfectly, I'll burn my fucking house down.
Second, this recipe involved some experimentation and playing with new flavors, so it contains some uncommon flavors that most of you likely haven't thought to pick up, but it's the perfect opportunity to do so. All of the flavors in this recipe are available at bullcity, and I'm anticipating a Black Friday or Cyber Monday sale.
Now the actual recipe came about in two stages. I started out wanting to test LB Pumpkin Pie, and I've found that pumpkin is most manageable in heavy creams. I filled the base with some seriously heavy creams and vanillas, all of which will be described further down this post. This pumpkin spice custard tasted fucking amazing. I loved it. For about 3 days. Then it got... boring. It still tasted great, but it needed more. I played around with some other ideas until I landed on a spiced pipe tobacco. I got some help from Fear on which tobaccos would fit this profile best, and we landed on the combination you see in the recipe.
Try this as a shake and vape, then don't touch it for 3 days. FLV tobaccos do a weird dance through the steep where they're there, they fade, they come back, then they fade again.
###The Base
- 4.5% LB Pumpkin Pie
- 3% CAP Sugar Cookie
- 2% WF Vanilla Ruyan Custard
- 1% INW Custard
- .5% FW Yogurt
LB Pumpkin Pie- Finally, a manageable pumpkin pie. For years, all we've had are the over concentrated pumpkin flavorings that leave no room for mistakes or adjustments. While this one may be substantially weaker, I find it much easier to work with, and much more rewarding.
CAP Sugar Cookie- You need base? You need body? You need vanilla? This shit right here is a god damned cheat code. God uses a couple drops of this to make thiccc girls. If you don't have it, you're fucking up.
WF Vanilla Ruyan Custard- Touted as an RY4, I don't get much tobacco from this. I do get a thick, almost batter-esque cream, with a hint of smokey body. I have a feeling this flavor will work wonders when it comes to creating interesting RY4s in the future.
INW Custard- The King of early creams. Those of you who have tried using pumpkin flavorings in the past will know that pumpkin flavors somehow rob the body of the rest of your recipe. To counteract this, I used the flavor that I know has possibly the most body on a shake and vape, and only gets thicker over time.
FW Yogurt- This one may seem out of place, but the reason for having it is simple: a ton of the shit we eat has butyric acid, and a lot of times it's necessary for the flavor of the food. I used the BA in the yogurt to sort of plump up the pumpkin pie and make it more authentic.
###The Tobaccos
- 1.6% FLV Turkish Tobacco
- 1.2% FLV Native Tobacco
FLV Turkish Tobacco- A slightly creamy, slightly spicy, smokey tobacco. Plays well with the spices already in the recipe, with slightly less body than the native. This gives the tobacco to the profile.
FLV Native Tobacco- Sweet and spicy. A smooth honey flavor, and moist as your mom when I'm in town. This flavor is what crafts that pipe-smoked flavor for the profile.
Just when I think I have All The Flavors™ you come along and tell me I need one more.
There's a few great WF flavors out now, we should be doing an article or something on their gems.
It's actually the LB Pumpkin Pie. I've managed to avoid all but a few LB flavors sneaking into my arsenal. But this does sound good enough to grab a bottle.
