I've been really lazy lately and have been buying juice.
submitted almost 8 years ago by sircrotch1Mixologist

I recently moved and have just not been as motivated to mix as I used to. I've been buying pre-made juice when it goes on sale and trying new flavors and have always either gotten tired of the juice I bought or just wasn't feeling it. Well I made some shortbread cookie from e-liquid-recipes.com just now and it tastes so much better to me than anything pre-made. it's possible it's a placebo like effect of doing it myself and taking pride in the measurements but I think I'm back. Cheers to everyone in this sub especially people compiling flavor notes on individual flavors, it's greatly appreciated. Have a great day everyone.

I'm gonna guess it is ella's shortbread cookies. It's rated as one of the top recipes on the site and is very good

You all ever need any juice to tide you over, feel free to send me a PM I'll give you a list of what I can make. Just pay S/H and it's yours.

Why was this down voted?

Recipes you made yourself, or are they off of a website like ATF? I only ask because I'm trying to improve on my variety of recipes.

Both.

How on earth do you sort through all the garbage recipes on ATF? Other than recipes recommended by redditors, all the ones I've tried were between meh, and yuck!

Not all juices need to steep and, in fact, some only are good fresh.

So that's part of it. I can't imagine most local shops sell fresh juice.

Yeah I always use up my shake-n-vape bottles while the rest are steeping, but I'm running into the issue of having so much friggin juice that even my SNV bottles last me waaaayy longer than it takes to steep, and they're starting to taste a bit off. Not terrible, just not as pungent and mouthy as before, with an inexplicable throat hit that was not present before.

I strongly feel that koolada is one of the ones that gets worse over time.

I found koolada to ruin delicate recipes by washing the flavors together and adding a strange off note. Even at .1 or .2%.

Honestly I've gotten to the point that I'm doing it flavorless. I go through phases where it just feels like such a hassle to sit down and do it, and I'm not sure why. I sell bulk amounts to friends, though so I usually get back into it when a bunch of orders line up.

I'm thinking about going flavorless now as well. Don't really have the time lately to come up with new recipes and I'm tired of mine. I really just like a simple strawberry mint flavor if anything

Hey man, I usually DIY, but recently have been going through shit and haven't had time. Ended up usually just throwing some pg vg and flavors in my tank before I left the house. Well, I forgot to do that one day and bough a 15 of some lemon cake at a shop. It was okay at first, but before the first tank was gone my stomach was literally churning with how much sweetener was in it.

I ended up finding like 18 recipes I knew I liked, bought everything for 15 60mls and 3 240s. Won't have to mix for a while. I'm not a creative mixer. I enjoy doing it, but when I can't think of anything new or make anything good of my own, sometimes it gets discouraging. So my recommendation is just make the ones you know you like to have a big ass supply.

I make my own juice out of necessity, I can't really afford to buy juice like I used to however I do feel like juice is probably the cheapest it's ever been, but I've always been been the DIY type of guy. If the juice you're making is that much better than the one you bought isn't that enough motivation to sit down and mix up some batches? Good luck

There are many more DIYers out there that DO NOT think what they make is as good as the store bought stuff than the other way around.

If you're one of the latter thats great .

Honestly I've never tried a "premium" ejuice I could never justify it, before I was diy the most expensive stuff I bought regularly was fusion but I mostly bought from Mt baker, so even if my diy was/is sub par ejuice it didn't matter because I was already vaping subpar ejuice lol.

This is why I mix up a gallon at a time. (3.8L approx.) I vape 3-4mls a day of 9mg nic, maybe 10mls on an especially cloud-happy day. So, even if running through 10mls a day every day due to high stress levels/just cause or whatever, that's enough for over a year. I can't stress enough how awesome it is to always have several different kinds of vape juice, not to mention the massive cost savings. With a scale, preferred flavoring and nic, and plenty of big-ass bottles, you can turn that whole gallon into vape juice in less than an hour.

I find it helps to have a few go to recipes. For me, I love RY4 and I’ve got a green apple jolly rancher that I love (it’s only one flavor).

Worst case scenario, if you think you’ll get bored or antsy then find a few from a low cost retailer (like MBV) that you can order ahead of time, and put it on a slow steep in the fridge for when you feel lazy.

I try to keep from buying juice by always having a standby shake and vape, something I can mix quick and vape whenever. Plus big batches of my favorite recipes. 240ml bottles of my ADVs on hand constantly. Setting aside a few hrs to chill out and mix on sundays helps too, its relaxing

I tend to do my mixing in bursts. I'll have a month when I'm really into mixing and a month where I do none at all. Something I've found helps me when I'm in a lazy period is that I'll mix up a few batches to get them started steeping but not add nicotine right away. Adding the nicotine just adds extra steps with safety gear and cleanup, so it can be very time consuming. This way I can also just spend several days mixing up batches and then spend one day adding nicotine to all of them, which goes pretty quickly.

I made the mistake of adding in nic to about 3000mls of juice, of which only a small percentage will be sold and the rest is personal consumption... I've either got to bulk sell all this right now for cheap, or live with it...At least it's not 1$ per ML. Thankfully, soon I'll have a dedicated mini fridge just for keeping juice fresh.
