Weekly 'Suggest a Recipe for my Flavors' Thread - Week of November 17, 2017
submitted almost 8 years ago by AutoModerator

Got a bunch of flavors but not sure how to make them work together? Post your list here, and our team of semi-professional mixologists will make suggestions for you! If you are impatient and want to do this on your own, here are a couple of good links:

  • /u/daath has a nice website that has this functionality, but you will need to register to make it work. It is not very intuitive but if you work with it you can input your flavors and get a list of recipes that you can make. IMO this is the better site if you have the patience to make it work for you. Edit2: to get this to work, first set up an account. Then add your flavors to the stash (under my page / my flavor stash). hit save. Then go back to the front page and click the link next to the search field, "Search by flavor stash". You can select a couple of your flavors and recipes that have those will pop up.
  • This site has a nice big search button with just what you're looking for.

Happy Mixing!

Mmm ok sounds good. I have cactus, pear, coconut, ripe strawberry, bavarian cream, marshmallow, dragon fruit and unicorn vomit.

Maybe:

Ripe strawberry - 5%

Bavarian Cream - 2%

Marshmallow 1%

Dragon fruit - 0.5%

Not a great deal to work with but the Dragon Fruit will complement the Strawberry and the Bavarian Cream will add some creamy depth with the Marshmallow to fluff it up. Assuming it is all TPA.

TFA sweetener - 1 - 4% (personal preference)

I now have over 100 flavors so I'm not going to list them all. I don't have any tobacco flavors and only a few FLZ/FW). I have done recipe searches, and will continue to do so, so today I'm interested in recipes you guys have not posted, or what you come up with off the cuff (a la cooking show "Chopped" - where chefs are presented with a box of ingredients and 30 minutes):

FE Oak Milk
TFA Greek Yogurt
Fe Sweet Rice
TPA Apricot
TPA Kentucky Bourbon
FA Cardamon
FA Fresh Fig
FA Metaphor
CAP Churro
FA Condensed Milk
FA Torrone
FA Liquid Amber
INW Marzipan
INW SHisha Vanilla, Lemon Mix, Lemon, Raspberry, Creme Brulee
FA Kiwi

and the regular custards, creams, popular fruits

I'd love to see some unique recipes, like u/coop34's Kiwi Bourbon which I mixed yesterday and haven't tried yet but looking forward to!

Ok, I'll play your little game.

FE Oak Milk 3% + TFA Kentucky Bourbon 2% + INW Creme Brulee 1% + INW Shisha Vanilla 0.75%.

FE Oak Milk 3% + FA Torrone 1% + INW Marzipan 0.75% + INW Shisha Vanilla 0.5%.

FE Sweet Rice 4% + FE Oak Milk 1% + TFA Apricot 2% + FA Liquid Amber 0.5%.

Great! Thanks for playing. I'll get mixing these tomorrow and let you know how they turn out. So far, you've won just by virtue of being the only chef entering. But we'll see if I win too :-)

Also, Happy Thanksgiving, u/ID10-T. I'm thankful for your Sugar Cookie recipe (my first mix ever which was a great choice on my part and got me enthused to keep going) and your daily participation and patience with noobs. Much appreciated.

I like Orange more than anything. Plain Orange, Sparkling Orange, Orange with Koolada, Orange with Lemon. Im not very much into Cream and Bakery. If you have a great recipe for me id appreciate that alot.

These are the orange flavorings i own:

Blood Orange (Natural) (FW)

Juicy Orange (Cap)

Sweet Tangerine (Cap)

I also own most of the staple Lemon Flavorings, WS-23 and Menthol.

Regards.

Unless you have reasons to avoid ordering from ECX, you should try their FE Sweet Orange. If you can't get that, you should try FA Royal Orange Juice and/or FA Blood Orange.

With the Oranges you already have, I would try: FW Blood Orange 3%, CAP Sweet Tangerine 1.5%, CAP Juicy Orange 0.75%, WS-23 (assuming it's a 30% dilution) 0.75%.

My stash there. I want something desserty, sweet, custardy. Anything like that. I was thinking of a mix including TFA vanilla swirl, CAP custard, and some fruit.

Two Week Steep on any of these three: CAP Vanilla Custard 5% + TFA Vanilla Swirl 1% +

FW Hazelnut 0.5% + LA Banana Cream 3%.

FW Hazelnut 0.5% + TFA Strawberry 4% + CAP Sweet Strawberry 2%.

TFA Orange Cream 1% + TFA Strawberry 4% + CAP Sweet Strawberry 2%.

Banana Cream (TPA) Bavarian Cream (TPA) Cheesecake (Graham Crust) (TPA) Dragonfruit (TPA) Fuji Apple (FA) Koolada 10% (TPA) Sour (TPA) Strawberry (TPA) Sweet Cream (TPA) Sweetener (Sucralose/Maltol) (TPA) Tres Leches (FW) Vanilla Custard (TPA) Watermelon (TPA)

I want a strong vanilla but i only have vanilla custard atm... Maybe something else you can suggest? : - )

by ID10-Talmost 8 years agoWinner of the 2nd DIYorDIE World Mixing Championship

Try:

4% Banana Cream, 2% Bavarian Cream, 2% Cheesecake Graham Crust, 1% Sweet Cream.

1% Dragonfruit, 2% Fuji Apple, 3% Strawberry, 4% Watermelon, 1% Sweetener.

And 4% Vanilla Custard + 2% Bavarian Cream + 1% Cheesecake Graham Crust + 1% Tres Leches.

If you are looking for a strong vanilla there are plenty to choose from, depending on what you're trying to make with it.

I have a 5% CAP Sweet Mango mix with .5% TFA Sweetener. Is there anything I can add to make the flavor pop even more? Should I up the % of Sweet Mango? The juice is pretty good right now but looking for a little more intensity.

My flavors:

CAP Sweet Mango

TFA Philippine Mango

CAP Sweet Tangerine

TFA Sweetener

TFA Dragonfruit

FA Fuji Apple

CAP Sweet Lychee

CAP Sweet Strawberry RF

TFA Strawberry Ripe

CAP Harvest Berry

CAP Pink Lemonade

CAP Concord Grape

FA Pear

TFA Grape Soda

Edit: also looking for a nice intense strawberry mix!

You should definitely not up the CAP Sweet Mango. Are you trying to make a new, better mango juice or add something to the bottle you've already made?

Strawberry Mix, try 6% Strawberry Ripe, 3% CAP Sweet Strawberry RF, 1% CAP Pink Lemonade, 1% Dragonfruit, 1% CAP Harvest Berry.

Nice I'm going to mix this strawberry right now! Thanks!

I was thinking maybe add something to the mango, or split it in half to dilute the Sweet Mango plus add something else. It's not bad right now but I'd like to improve it!

Estimate how much you have left and try adding about 4% Phillipine Mango and 1% CAP Pink Lemonade to that.

I've really become a fan of grape ejuices, I've never bought a single commercial grape ejuice that I didn't think was awesome. Now I'm trying to make my own so I don't have to spend so much cash and it's not working. I have CAP Concord Grape w/ Stevia and TFA Grape Soda.

I made a 10ml bottle of CAP concord grape at 15% and 2 drops of TFA Sweetener but I couldn't taste anything. Next I tried adding 10 drops of TFA Grape Soda which added more flavor on the inhale but still nothing compared to commercial juices. I got desperate and put 2 drops of TFA Dragonfruit and 2 drops CAP Harvest Berry in next and now on the inhale I'm getting a little something nice but exhale is bland and nothing great.

I put a few drops of a commercial juice on and BOOM it's crazy intense grape goodness! Any suggestions on what I can do?

my flavors: CAP Sweet Mango

TFA Philippine Mango

CAP Sweet Tangerine

TFA Sweetener

TFA Dragonfruit

FA Fuji Apple

CAP Sweet Lychee

CAP Sweet Strawberry RF

TFA Strawberry Ripe

CAP Harvest Berry

CAP Pink Lemonade

CAP Concord Grape

FA Pear

TFA Grape Soda
