Happy Thanksgiving, you turkeys!
Are we doing this again? We are? Ok, here we go again.
/u/chemicalburnvictim is the MVP of the October Challenge and will be contacted about a small token of appreciation.
The purpose behind this monthly clone challenge is to gather the community behind an effort to clone just one juice.
The subject of this month's challenge is, and I can't believe I'm saying this, Murica by VapeWild. VapeWild calls it "a blast of sweet and refreshing layers of red cherries, tart lemon-lime and blue raspberries," says that, "Murica tastes just like that red, white and blue popsicle from the ice cream truck on a hot Summer day," and lists "Popsicle, Lemon Lime, Raspberry, Cherry" as the primary flavors. This was requested by /u/josefbud, who made this impassioned plea:
> I know, I know. "Fuck VapeWild" and all that. But I'm telling you, this juice is fucking amazing. It's my favorite of anything I've tried after 3 years of vaping, and I just can't get it out of my head. It's the only juice from them that I could confidently order 240-480ml of and be out of it within a couple of months. > > I've been trying. Trying to find a clone, trying to find something close, and I just can't find it. I'm not experienced enough to really tweak these recipes correctly, and none of them taste the same. > > I've seen this thread but I have to agree with one of the comments - "I highly doubt their recipe is this complex" especially with the existence of FW Boom! > > I've tried this recipe as well as three different versions trying to tweak it myself, to no avail. > > I've even tried to just use Boom! by itself at 5%. Nada. > > I'd be willing to send my last ~15-20ml to someone to figure it out. I also have 10ml of their "flavor boost," which I assume is just the pure flavorings, arriving on Monday.
A reminder from the previous clone challenge posts: You are perfectly welcome to completely ignore the cloning aspect of this challenge and just consider the juice description as a prompt to create a recipe all your own with that profile. In this case, that would be a bomb pop.
Please respond with recipes for Murica by Vape Wild, ideas about how to start an attempt to clone that flavor, your own delicious Bomb Pop recipe, general thoughts about having a monthly clone challenge, hate mail, love letters, lewd artwork, dirty limericks, comments, questions, concerns, anything remotely on topic. Thank you. Love you all.
I mixed up this clone of VapeWild's Murica from a year ago. ( ELR link )
I haven't had the original from VapeWild, but this juice is straight up red/white/blue bomb pop.
Original post's recipe copied here for the heckovit, credit to /u/ryan770 :
- CAP Lemon Lime @ 4%
- FA Lemon Sicily @ 1%
- INW Raspberry @ 0.45%
- TFA Sweet Raspberry @ 4%
- TFA Juicy Peach @ 3%
- FA Black Cherry @ 0.75%
- TFA Swedish Gummy @ 1%
- CAP Harvest Berry (optional) @ 1%
- Koolada (optional) @ 1%
- Ethyl Maltol (optional) @ 1%
I have friends who've I've mixed hundreds of milliliters of this recipe for. There's a notable throat hit with this mix and I feel the EM helps to round those sharp edges just a bit. I also liked this recipe in that cherry is always a pain to mix into anything other than cough medicine, but imo, this is a perfect application of FA Black Cherry - it actually tastes like cherry. The Raspberry with the peach (and probably the Harvest Berry,) somehow becomes "blue raspberry", although that could be entirely the power of suggestion. The CAP Lemon Lime and FA Lemon Sicily combine into a perfect lime highlight. You can taste all three distinct flavors in this mix.
I haven't mixed this for myself in a while, but this thread has inspired me to try it again, lowering the total flavor percentage down just a smidge, and I think I'll try what /u/juthinc suggested - WS-23 and Koolada together.
Will report back after I give this a shake-n-vape.
K, promised shake-n-vape notes:
- Reduced original recipe total flavor volume (which included the optional ingredients) to 15%. Adjusted the Koolada to 0.75%, and added 0.5% of WS-23.
- As I remember the original recipe, the shake-n-vape is strong on the raspberry from the INW Raspberry (Malina).
- The Lemon Lime pulls the raspberry though.
- I really like the WS-23 + Koolada - it makes the lemon/lime feel a lot more like what I remember a Bomb Pop popsicle tasting/feeling like in my mouth.
- The cherry is currently hiding, and I'm guessing with a steep it'll be like the original recipe: The lemon/lime will calm down a smidge, the raspberry will calm down a fair amount, and the black cherry will bolden up a bit.
Here's my adjusted recipe:
- CAP Lemon Lime @ 3.49%
- FA Lemon Sicily @ .87%
- INW Raspberry @ 0.39%
- TFA Sweet Raspberry @ 3.49%
- TFA Juicy Peach @ 2.62%
- FA Black Cherry @ 0.65%
- TFA Swedish Gummy @ 0.87%
- CAP Harvest Berry (optional) @ 0.87%
- Koolada (optional) @ 0.75%
- Ethyl Maltol (optional) @ 0.87%
- WS-23 0.5%
/u/Josefbud check that out ^
How strange is that? EdibleMalfunction's Blue Raspberry Candy mentions exactly the same thing: TFA Juicy Peach + TFA Raspberry Sweet somehow forms a convincing "blue raspberry".
Oh man, hundreds of ml? I'm honored, really. Thats so awesome.
This was just a first draft type deal and I never really revisited it except a few more thrown together mixes when I was getting low on juice and couldn't think of anything else to mix. I wasn't really sure where to go with it, and that throat hit was pretty rough so I felt discouraged.
About that blue raspberry, I promise it's legit. I made a whole thread about. I always tried to make blue raspberry with raspberry/blueberry combo, but that's not even what blue raspberry is at all. I'd noticed some old Blue Voodoo recipes were straight up TFA Sweet Raspberry and Juicy Peach, and it seemed so odd. But I definitely got this blue raspberry flavor from it.
One day, a few months later, I ate a blue raspberry Jolly Rancher. The first thing that hit my tongue was HOLY SHIT JUICY PEACH. I started experimenting again and found that Raspberry+juicy peach truly tasted more like blue raspberry than any proclaimed "blue raspberry" concentrate that I had. I always use this for any "blue" juice and it's just a tasty combo.
But anyway, I'm super psyched about this recipe getting mentioned. I hope someone can tweak it better, and I can try hopefully a better version of my initial one.
Edit: actually just saw your adjusted recipe. Can't wait to try it!
It's a good recipe! You say you felt discouraged by the throat hit - that was the same thing that kept it from becoming an ADV for me. I can only assume my friends have hardened leather for throats with how much they've enjoyed it over the past year.
My adjusted recipe maintains the same ratios as your recipe, except for the tweak to Koolada and addition of WS-23. I tested it SS-316 staggered-fused clapton (26ga core, 36ga wraps,) 7 wraps around a 3mm bit, on a Mesh RDA. It ohms out at 0.31, and I'm vaping it at 460F. It produces a lot of vapor, and the original recipe would have terrorized my throat, but my dialed-back modification seems to have very minimal throat hit.
Give it a shot! Heck, it's your recipe! ;)
That throat hit is deffinently comming from the juicy peach.. that flavour is just vandalism to my throat
It's most likely a large contributor.
At lower percentages though I've experienced very little throat hit with juicy peach... I think it just adds up with all the other ingredients, many of which have notable levels of throat hit as well.
I've either developed a hardened-leather throat, or the koolada+ws-23 in my reduced-flavoring version is nowhere near as harsh on the throat as the original version.
I've heard tons of people say this, but interestingly enough, TFA Juicy Peach is super smooth to me. I've never had a problem with it. I've mixed it up to 7% for a peach yogurt recipe and still super smooth.
For me I think it's the raspberry and lemon lime that kill my throat. For others, maybe it's just the whole combination.
Why not just use a blue razz flavor instead of trying to recreate the wheel?
You make an excellent point.
However, amongst the 300+ flavorings that I have, a blue raspberry is not one of them. ;)
Plus, since ryan770's recipe worked so well without a blue-razz flavoring, and having not yet ran into any recipe that included a blue-razz flavoring which also screamed "I have to try this", I've really had no incentive to purchase one.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
The simple answer is I didn't have a blue raspberry concentrate when I whipped this up, but as I stated earlier I think the raspberry and peach combo truly tastes more like your average commercial blue raspberry flavor than any concentrate I've tried since then. I haven't tried a whole lot though.
+1... Occasionally i get a wild hair up my ass and buy juices that are at deep discount. I never like any of it. Bought some hardware from vapewild so figured I'd try the free sampler. Murica was the only vapeable juice in the lot. To much sweetener, but definitely a guilty pleasure. Would love a recipe w/o sweetener!
I feel honored. Is that weird?
Either way, I'm proud to be the asshole to make you wonderful, talented folks here try to clone a VapeWild juice. That's definitely a life accomplishment that nobody else in my life will care about, which I'll save for some "What's one of your greatest accomplishments that you can't tell anyone about?" AskReddit thread in a couple of months.
Anyways, I played around with their flavor boost, which was confirmed by VapeWild themselves to be the pure flavorings. Surprisingly enough, 6.0% to 6.5% flavoring seems to be the right place, give or take. Hopefully that info should help. Then again, I'm still new and learning so I could be wrong. I just know that 5% was too weak and 8% seemed to be too strong, and 6.5% tastes right on the money.
In all seriousness I do appreciate you posting this. I genuinely really look forward to trying out the recipes that come out of this thread. I'm in the middle of a move right now with my DIY stuff packed away but come December I am going to try all of these for sure.
That's interesting. Their "flavor boost" is really just what everyone else calls a "one shot."
6 to 6.5% makes it sound like these clone attempts that are using 15%ish flavor are way off.
That's what I found so interesting. I'll have to do a side-by-side to really tell, but that's what it seems like to me. I mixed 120ml of 6.5% and it has packed plenty of flavor down to my last 30ml now. Actually so much I was considering stepping down to 6% for my next 120ml. The good news is 6% total flavor of a simple Vape Wild juice shouldn't be too hard to pin down. Maybe?
Edit: Also, unless it's super hidden to my untrained tongue, I don't think there's any Koolada or WS-23 in it. But those would probably make it better anyway.
Charlie's Chalk Dust - Headbangin Boogie is almost exact imo. (There were a few years between trying each of them so might be some small differences.)
There were a couple attempts on ELR to try and clone it, not sure how close they got.

Lots of discussion in the comments
Never had Murica but HBB was one of the first juices that I feel like I successfully cloned. The recipe I ended up with is super close to the one you linked. Yes, I want a cookie lol.
It was the juice that got me into DIY. Not to clone it exactly, though I did try a (never could find a blueberry I liked or that fit), but because after paying $11 for that 10-15ml and vaping it all in around 4 hours I realized I couldn't afford store juice at that rate.
> It was the juice that got me into DIY.
That's funny - trying out Murica clones was what got me to finally take the plunge into DIY. Ran out of my 240ml stash after a few weeks and didn't want to spend $60 for 480ml or $35 for another 240. Not quite as pricey as yours but still.
I tried this...long long ago before getting into diy. It isn't bad by any means. I might go back and try this from the local shop (it's a huge seller for them) and grab a bottle. I don't remember the cherry used, but I'm pretty sure thats one of the easier flavors to pull out. Lemon/Lime combos can come hard.
If i made it Blue rasp fw 1% Inw cherries 2% Lemon lime cap 3% Sweet raspberry tpa 3% Sweetener tpa 1 Em .5%

Booms magic fades quick in my tests
Did you see the comment about the Murica one-shot being on-point to the actual juice at 6.5%ish? Makes your suggestion look like it might be closer to the real deal than some of the higher % clone attempts or suggestions that it's just 10% Boom + Sweetener.
So, WS-23 and Koolada blend to get the popsicle effect. 10% TFA Sweetener (this is Vape Wild, right?) Then just a blue raz (Cap, maybe) and a little cherry (I'll say LA Cherry @.25% as a start) but lemon-lime... possibly a soda flavor.
I don't know the original and don't have a cherry or blue razz flavour. Plus my palate is broken due to a cold. But I know from Vurves Cherry Almond Cigar that marzipan and almond give a nice cherry vipe. So here it goes:
- INW Marzipan 1.5%
- FA Almond 0.5%
- INW Raspberry 0.5%
- FA Lemon Sicily 1.5%
- CAP Super Sweet 0.5%
- TPA Koolada 0.5%
I was wondering if anyone has made a juice similkar to "The One ejuice by Beard Vape Co" Heres a descritption - flavors of cereal, donut, strawberries and milk into one flavor. delicious notes of strawberry doughnut on the inhale with sweetened cereal and creamy milk on the exhale. Flavor Profile: Strawberry, Donut, Cereal, Milk
