Well, now I know why my Blue Raspberry candy juice is so harsh.
submitted almost 8 years ago by PressGang

So I just mixed up a recipe by u/ediblemalfunction from ATF. Blue Raspberry candy. Holy shit tastes amazing as a SNV.

However, along with the amazing taste, comes the chest tightening dragon throat fire of harshness after.

Doing some research, I think I’ve found the culprit. TFA Juicy Peach is an ingredient. It’s at 2% in the recipe, and from the looks of it, a handful of people have this experience with this concentrate.

The recipe is amazing, but anyone have an idea for what to sub for the TFA juicy peach? I’d really like to vape this, without feeling like I was kicked in the chest.

Try TFA Nectarine - just a different variety of peach, but IMO a better flavour

TFA Nectarine is delicious and not harsh.

INW Peach is also really good and less harsh than some other peaches I've tried. Not certain it would work in the recipe OP is trying to make though.

I will give this a shot! I’ve heard good things about the nectarine concentrate.

For me it tastes like peach, but with a fresher taste, maybe even a slight citrus hint (the good kind, not the Pledge kind)

This is a fine example of people being different. I made a mix with juicy peach last week, along with Fuji,Brown Sugar and some creams and Meringue. I used it at 4% and it's super smooth and peachy like a peach drink. Quite delicious. I can't use Blueberry Extra, it so harsh for me it's unbearable. I've even bought from two different vendors to make sure it wasn't a bad batch. So I replaced it with FLV Blueberry and it was perfect

Combinaton of flavors, and added effectors dramatically effect harshness in my experience. I try my flavors single and they are silky smooth, i combine them (with lower percentages of course) and i'm vaping fire. This happens mostly when combining fruits. Gotta know the chemicals and how they stack up when combined.

I can't do strawberry, blueberry, Berry anything,, cake, cake batter or anything that sounds so good. My adv for almost 2 years is a banana cream and vanilla custard mix. I tried a 100+ juices and boss reserve I could handle everyday which led to my diy adv.

Super concentrate peach is a decent replacement, it still has a little kick too it but not nearly as harsh as TFA juicy peach. FLV peach is the only peach I've tried that I don't get much harshness from

Have you tried CAP juicy peach?

I have not. How does it compare to TFA juicy peach?

Honestly couldn't say as I've not tried the TFA version. I know Capella one is pretty strong so use sparingly but it's a great flavour. To add, I get the same reaction to TFA watermelon

Similar (extreme) throat hit for me with TFA and CAP juicy peach. It's a component called linalool from what I remember, had this issue a couple years ago and that's what's in both concentrates.

Same bad throat hit. Like razor blades.

I had the same problem with it. From what I read, it's caused by the alcohol in it. Leaving the cap off to let the alcohol evaporate should help a bit.

I had the same issue too. It got more bearable as alcohol evaporated over time but not to the point where i would be comfortable with.

I don't know about what to substitute it with but I have made some juicy peach with a menthol kick and it was rather nice.

Capella Juicy Peach is the same...super harsh. So that won't do as a replacement.

What I found is that FA Apricot smooths the harshness of Juicy Peach without changing the flavor much.

What percent do you usually add the Apricot along with the juicy peach? The recipe I used called for the juicy peach at 2%

Same amount of Apricot should help then. I hope it works for you.

JF Honey Peach is great if you can pick it up, it's my favorite peach concentrate
