Please leave recipe reviews
submitted almost 8 years ago by Grorco

I just wanted to ask the community if they could try to make sure to leave reviews on recipes they try. I'm pretty new but already noticed the lack of reviews on most recipes. I understand that everyone has different taste but it would be nice to have more feedback out there to help pick what to make, especially to newbies like me who can't just look at percentages of flavors and have a general idea of if it will be good.

So, are there any recipes in particular you're referring to? Recipes here, recipes on ATF, random recipes? Recipes in the monthly thread? Recipes that are posted by themselves? A little detail helps.

Well I posted this as a generalization, but I mainly look through ATF. So maybe people people do a better job of it elsewhere and I just haven't noticed.

I am reviewing the damn things as fast as I can. Two so far today. (Remaining recipes on the ever-expanding to-mix list? 91.) But there are only so many juices I can cram in my one face hole and still have time to test flavors and develop my own recipes.

I know you are, you wrote a review on one like half an hour before I wrote this post. I only know because I left my review right after you did :)

This is one of the bigger issues in the DIY community. In fact, there are a lot of DIYer's who barely mix others recipes at all. That said, it's gotten much better than it has ever been and I think given more time it will become even more apparent.

Which is why people should have notes for their recipes. Posting recipes to ATF is also a great venue for organized feedback.

This. ELR doesn't offer the same streamlined functionality for commenting and feedback that ATF does. That said, I leave feedback on all recipes I mix on ATF and it would be beneficial for everyone to do the same.

Isn't ATF pay to post recipes? I haven't checked in to try in a while.

Posting recipes publicly requires credits or a subscription. Which costs a couple dollars a month. Well worth it to weed out the BS that ELR succumbed to.

The normal person isn't going to pay to give something away though.

And be helpful. Saying "my favourite diy recipe ever" doesn't help in any way. We don't know you, we don't know what kinds of flavors you like, and taste is a very subjective thing.

I was thinking the same thing the other day. So a few days ago I went on ATF and reviewed all of the recipes I have tried and loved so far that I could find. All three of them lol

Edit: Make that four!

Unfortunately I can only do 2 so far, I messed up my first order a little bit.. so I ended up with some TFA for Fa and vise versa, got to wait until I get enough around for the free shipping again before I can do some more reviews :/
