I know this is off topic, but I wasn't really able to find anything on the google about it.
I was wondering if anyone had used flavorings (at least some are water soluble) for creating carbonated water. I'm looking for flavors used, and % used per gallon. I'm a homebrewer (kegs, C02) however I've started a keto diet, so sugars are a no go. I figure with flavor concentrates sugars won't be as much of an issue. The recipes I've found so far all use fruit for the flavoring.
I may end up just giving it a go - carbonate up 5 gallons of water and split it out into 1 gallon batches to try. I have plenty of flavors kicking around that won't get used otherwise.
People use these concentrates for all sorts of things, they weren't designed for vaping specifically. Any fruit or berry works in plain water, but at a far lower concentration. For 1 liter of water, I would use about 0.2 ml of concentrate, which equates to 0.02% flavoring. Much higher and you get soap. While carbonation and sweeteners make it more fun, it's still only flavored water without any body. Perhaps adding some citric acid or actual fruit juice could make it more interesting.
It's a common topic in these parts though, not sure what you Googled, but I easily found these:

I do this all the time. I usually will put about 6 drops of flavor into a 16 ounce cup and then fill with water to mix the flavor in. This way I'm not locked into any one recipe and I can also tweak my own recipes this way too. It's a great way to learn flavors.
I have found that fizzy water is usually carbonated more than beer is, so I will keep the regulator turned up to around 20 PSI for serving. Straight water also very readily absorbs the gas when you burst carb it (45 PSI connected to your OUT port or a diffusing stone and shake it for 10 minutes.)
As far as flavors go, you can obviously use anything; but if you want to experiment with flavors like Meringue and Marshmallow and other similar, you will need to dump A LOT of it into the water. Those type of flavors work best in combination with a 'main' flavor in juice, and so also in water. My favorites that I would recommend are CAP blackberry, CAP kiwi, CAP sweet strawberry, TPA dragonfruit, TPA hibuscus, and even some oddballs like TPA white chocolate

This sounds exactly like what I'm looking for. I just wanted a hint of flavoring - I've just been drinking water, and after a while it just doesn't do it for you. I'll be saving this for the numbers too - do you tend to go with really long serving lines then so you don't shoot foam everywhere?
edit: I"m mostly after fruits and citrus. I think i have 30ml of kiwi, and probably blackberry, so I have something I can test in a 1 gal batch. I'll have to pick up a diffusing stone, unless I can re-rig my O2 stone I use before fermentation.
Actually there is no foam with straight water, no worries about changing serving lines. My setup right now is very basic, 3 foot gas and 3 foot liquid lines connected to a double regulator.
It's possible you can get an adaptor for your O2 stone, or you can just get the lid on Amazon for cheap. Or you can just put gas in your liquid line and shake to expose more water to the co2.
I would recommend making your batches directly in the cup and in 16 ounce sizes so you won't have to worry about it going flat in storage and you won't have to drink a whole gallon of a bad recipe
Are you trying to create the flavor of carbonated water, or actual carbonated water itself?
I did this for about a year. What brought me back to LaCroix or store brand version wasn't the flavoring, that I had nailed well enough to my liking. It was the carbonation. I was using the shake a 2 liter of water method, and found that it only held it's carbonation for a couple hours. Carbonating the water cold and keeping it cold helped a bit, but not enough. I'd be interested in giving that another go if there was a better method out there.
I'll keep it stored in a keg, so it'll always be carbonated. And flip top bottle to bring it with me.
May as well find a use for the kegs since the diet doesn't allow beer. For a while I was thinking of mixing everything but the lime for gin and tonic so I could dispense that from a keg.
Thanks for the tip. I'll look into the kegs, do you need to keep them chilled? With vaping I go through a handful of seltzer bottles a day so a small investment could save in the long run.
I cycle on and off keto every few weeks. Diet tonic water is certainly your friend for adult beverages.
Well, I've done this with flavorings that have actual sugars and therefore I wouldn't vape. I've done it with FW yumberry and FW HAwaiian Limeade. Just add a couple ice cubes to a mason jar, add about 2-3 drops of flavoring, and pour sparkling water on that, then stir a little. Then, if needed, I'd add more drops, to taste. It could work fine with other flavors :)
I have not tried making larger amounts, though. I've just prepared the glass I am about to drink.
Be advised that if you have flavours with pg they will not be fun to drink.
It's like drinking a throat hit
At least that is what I felt when I tried FW natural lemonade
