Storing e-liquid in Silicone bottles
submitted almost 8 years ago by umbra4235

Lately food-grade silicone bottles have become a popular alternative for bottom feeders. Because of their softness and that they also last way longer. Lost Vape have released great 30ml bottles with metal caps for their Therion mods.

Why we don't use fg silicone to store and mix e-liquid too? I've done this lately with good result. They don't seem to change flavor or anything. I post on main and not daily question bec it's not just a beginner question thing. Glass bottles are great, but it depends on quality of the top dropper that some times leech air. They also break easy if dropped on floor ect. The PET Chubby Gorilla are great, but over time the plastic become deformed by squeezing. Unicorns are also fiddly to mix with as you have to remove the plastic nozzle.

For dripping or filling tanks they would of course have some sort of nozzle.

Any thoughts?

Have you ever sneezed while holding an open silicone bottle..

2x250ml brown boston rounds + 12g syringe do the job quite nicely for storage.

Probably no worse than plastic in terms of leeching into the juice, but how it may react to some of the chemicals in our concentrates is hard to know. If you're concerned about that, use glass, otherwise I see no reason not to try.

Will do some tests over time to see if they react to some of the stronger aromas. Like over a month. They are super air tight, so thats a good thing. Food-grade silicone should not leech or "breathe", and also with plastic thats a kind of myth issen't it. Never tasted plastic myself. I squonk so juice stays in plastic quite a long time to.

Silicone and plastic leeching over time is no myth, that's pretty much irrefutable. I choose not to worry about it, but it doesn't hurt to be aware of it.

Sure, it's at what amount tho. Prefer quality glass to store for long time.

I had a 5ml LDPE bottle of FLV Lime from Gremlin that collapsed upon itself 5 weeks after I received it. It looked like a bottle that had been overheated in a microwave.

So, try that one. Or maybe TFA Red Hot Cinnamon.

Moreover Silicone bottles could be cleaned throughfully by boiling them. It's a while since I am searching for them in vain.
