But it calls for FA Shade which I don't have yet. Could I use FLV Connecticut Shade instead? Or any other FLV tobacco for that matter?
You could use Connecticut Shade for that I’m sure. FLV tobaccos Mix much better with themselves than with others in my opinion. And I don’t really like the FA tobaccos, so it’d probably be better with the FLV. Same percentage should work.

I bought that, just because I wanted to know what a red bowl tastes like. Haven't tried it yet but in the bottle is smells kind of like a weird apple candy? Apparently based on ELR notes that I just read it's actually FW having a sense of humor about cease & desist letters after having previously called it Red Bull.
Never mixed a thing, but I want to get going.
I understand that it's simple and more cost effective to buy 100mg/ml nicotine and create my own base.
I'm pretty nervous about doing this simply because there seems to be so much risk when you have kids around.
Also, I see in the sidebar under "All about nicotine", the OP states to separate 100mg/ml into monthly usage amounts and store in the freezer.
Does he really mean in a freezer next to food or is it implied you use a second freezer for this?
Also, does it really need to be frozen if you use argon and keep your house temp at ~76 degrees in the hottest months and cooler the rest of the year?
I want to mix my own nicotine in the future, but for the time being, I would rather opt for something safer...premixed nicotine.
I did a site search on google and could not come up with a reputable vendor list for premixed nicotine.
Can someone provide one?
I understand my nic % will be a little lower this route and it costs more. I'm cool with that so I can just run through the process a few times before dealing with 100mg/ml nic.

100mg/ml is a base. Lowering the concentration further is up to you. I personally think it's a waste of time for me but others do it so just depends on you. I don't have kids but I have 4 dogs and never had an issue with nicotine. Sure, it can be dangerous but as long as you're safe and work over an area that is easy to clean up spills you should be good. Always put things where you're kids can't get it, obviously.

Yes, I put my nicotine in the freezer. I have it in plastic bottles that have the word "DEATH" on them along with them in a plastic bag. You can get a minifreezer for this if you want but that would seem to make it easier for a kid to get to.

It doesn't need to be frozen but it is the best way to preserve the longevity of nicotine. If stored at 76 average then you shouldn't buy large amounts of it. I'm not sure why you don't want to put it in the freezer.

Not wanting to put it in a freezer thats full of food is probably fear based ignorance.
There just seems to be so many things that could go wrong in that scenario from a newbs perspective.
So looking at the calculators if I get just a 120ml PG base from Carolina Extracts, and I’m going for 3% nic I can mix 1920ml of juice from that single 120ml.
That seems to be about a 3 month supply given my rate of consumption.
Is freezing still necessary at this time period?
I would also separate it into 12 10ml amber bottles, only reopening as needed, 1 at a time while using argon to reseal the current working bottle.
You have it in a sealed container, I'm not too sure what you think could happen. I put mine on the door shelf pined next to a few other bottles.
If you don't really want to do it then you should be fine. Just keep it in a dark cool place in the house.
All nicotine is premixed, unless you find pure nicotine, which will kill you.
Most people use 100mg/ml but you can also buy 50, 48, 24, 12. As you go down it gets a little less cost effective but easier to work with and more forgiving if you make a mistake. Still a lot cheaper than buying juice, all the way down to 3mg/ml. If you're uncomfortable with 100mg/ml, buy a more diluted one from the same places people buy 100mg/ml nic.

If buy a smaller amount at a time (again, less savings), it does not need to be frozen. I don't even use argon and I leave my "working bottle" out on my desk at room temperature. It's fine. If you buy a larger amount, argon is one way to preserve it, the freezer is another, and both is even more preservation. With both argon and freezing some of the higher quality nicotine base will keep for a very long time. If you don't buy more than you'll use in a month or so, you don't need to bother with any of that.
I am a dumbass and started smoking again. I was down to 1mg nic. I want to increase the nic to aid with getting back off the ciggs but my nic is horrible and I've had nothing but bad luck buying it. I am curious about using salts. My assumption is if I buy the 100mg salted nicotine in pg I can use it like standard nicotine but should theoretically be able to bump to 3mg or 6mg without the vape killing my throat? I use low ohm tanks at like 130 watts currently.
Someone gave me store bought juice at 3mg which I assumed would be fine, as that's what I started on but back then I had an atlantis II at like 40 watts or something. This maxo at 130 watts is just too harsh. Anyway, thanks. I am sure this has been asked 8,000 times since I was last here...
That seems to be a lot of people's experience with nic salts, including mine. I'd go with Nic River over Nude Nic (just in case you weren't around for the slew of compaints about NN's increasingly poor service)
It also might be worth considering that a lower wattage may help ease your transition back to vaping.
Good point, the old tanks weren't cutting it but they might once I am able to increase the nicotine. It would be nice to not have to lug 6 batteries around... I did end up buying from Nic River, that $30 ground shipping is new... so that was great :(

I'm wondering how you go about making juices have a sweeter flavor? Some of the ones I make seem really bland and like they don't have any "pop" and I'm wondering if this is because they lack any kind of sugar. I just can't seem to make anything that I'd rather use than a store bought juice, but I just started mixing. Mostly using TFA and CAP flavors, so suggestions of what to get in my next order would be appreciated.
Have you tried mixing highly rated recipes? Or did you go straight into mixing your own creations from scratch? If you're just coming off of commercial mixes you might be use to vaping sucralose. Which has the same effect as drinking regular soda to diet soda. There is a brief period where it will not taste as there is any sweetener in it.
It would help if you posted what recipe you are not happy with, too. Buying flavors to well reviewed mixes would help you learn more about how profiles are built and what flavors aid in making a sweeter overall profile.
I haven't been able to make any full recipes as I don't have a huge selection of flavors. How I went about it was looking at recipes that I had most of the ingredients, and doing my best to replicate it with a few variations due to not having stuff, and hoping it ends up close. Hopefully once I get more flavors, I'll be able to make something closer to what I'm looking for.
I had the same problem when I started to DIY about 2 months ago. It turns out I was too accustomed to commercial juices (sucralose). Well that and vaper's tongue. It took about 2 weeks of not vaping any store-bought juice to actually taste my DIY mixes. Well worth it though

You ever had their Real Cig? It tastes like that with a bit of cocoa. If you haven’t had Real Cig, it’s kind of a hard one to explain. Best I can think is like sucking the end of a Marlboro Red without lighting it. But that taste multiplied by 10. I got a 30 ml of it too because it was crazy cheap. Call me crazy but I've recently mixed up a "frozen Apple and spearmint" flavoured juice that is a perfect, cool refreshing pallet cleanser. Just thought I'd post in here to gauge interest before I go and post the actual recipe. If any of you are up for something a little different let me know and I'll do a full write up on it
Saline in mixes - So I was speaking with a friend who also DIYs and was informed that some premium e juices contain saline for fruit-flavor pop and general smoothness. I’ve subsequently done some reading and some testimonials online bear share this opinion. Anyone have any experience mixing with saline? I’d love to hear your experiences. Thanks in advance.
All it does is add a slight salty sensation on your tongue, that's it. Just like sucralose it will wreck your coils. And saline without preservatives doesn't last long, so it's not really worth the effort.
Ethyl Maltol. I know it's a sweetener. I know that by itself, it tastes like cotton candy. I also know that it smoothed out the dryness of TFA Grape Candy and CAP Harvest Berry. What else do I need to know about it? Will it kill coils?
It's technically not a sweetener, it just gives that impression. Maltol and Ethyl Maltol are commonly used to take the edge off sharp flavors and add a sense of sweetness, but use too much and the whole mix ends up muted. The tricky part and why I never recommend using EM is that a lot of the concentrates already contain significant amounts of these substances and they stack, so you don't need to add much to mute your mix. It won't kill your coils though.
What’s a nice strong menthol or koolada additive other than koolada tfa? I mix tfa koolada at 1.5-2% to avoid getting a chemical taste but I want it colder. I’ve tried arctic winter and i don’t even notice it even at 2% in mixes.
I read WS 23 is the same thing as menthol? Can anyone verify this I have no clue where to check that? Maybe point me in the right direction?
I remember talks on here or ECR or somewhere about Axiom Icicles. I googled that and it is not a concentrate, rather just an ejuice. Do people just mix the juice like it’s a concentrate or am I missing a concentrate.
I tried a juice at ECC ( well a few) that was very nice. Koolada gives me the cooling but the juices I tried felt like literal ice.
WS 23 is what you are looking for, you can get it here
It does not taste like mint but makes everything very cold, it also mutes less than Koolada.
If you get the 30% version I linked start low like 0.5% if you want really cold go up to 2% but be prepared for your face to freeze :)

Just starting out making my own juice, jut to try and give it a go, now im currently using a calculator to work out how much of each ingredient i need and it asks for the base nicotine strength and what strength im going for but makes no mention of it being prediluted VG or PG nicotine or if its meaning just straight nicotine?
Basically when calculating is it talking about pure nicotine or diluted nicotine and how does this affect working out how much i need if its already diluted?
Also does it make a difference if its PG or VG for the nicotine? I know these affect the overall blend but how do they impact the nicotine?

I am wanting to mix up Grack Juice but I don't have Koolada. Any recommendations for using FA Polar Blast as a sub? I've read that Polar Blast is a bit weaker than Koolada, how much more should I use? And is the weird chemical taste in Koolada important to the recipe at all, or is it low enough to not matter?
It's important if you want it to taste like /u/philosaphucker intended. But Polar Blast is mostly koolada. IIRC it's 8% instead of the usual 10% dilution. I'd throw it in there @ 1% and see how it goes.

I'm not an experienced mixer, but my coworker requested Cinnamon pastry type juice and I've done a bit of research on this sub and alltheflavors.
You will want *Capella Cinnamon Danish Swirl *Flavorah Rich Cinnamon (You will need bakery flavors with this to make a Cinnamon roll) *FlavorWest Cinnamon Roll
I have all three but have only just started playing with them (got FLV Rich Cinnamon and FW Cinnamon Roll in the mail Saturday) so I can't speak with authority. They smell amazing though.
Haven't really done anything with cheesecake but Capella's NY Cheesecake would probably be a safe bet.

i can vouch for the cap cinnamon danish. pooched my first mix and caught it just in the nick of time. ended up mixing the percent as though it were grams. Soooo, what was gonna be unicorn milk stopped out as: 5% Butter Cream, 1.65% Graham Cracker, 1.65% New York Cheesecake, and 2.5% Sweet Cream, all CAP. (yeah, took notes. Old habits from cooking and chemistry die hard) Added in 2.5% of the Cinnamon Danish, and .5% sugar cookie to try and save it.
Net result: one week later had frosted snickerdoodle. But dump a little blueberry or strawberry in, and it was a iced danish. Weird, but good.
Sorry for adding to the math class vibe, buuut:
coworker got a vial of 18mg 50/50 handed to her. she does 6 mg. is there an easy calculator or formula to cut the stuff to 6mg using unflavored pg/vg?
Easy formula:
V1 * C1= V2 * C2
V1= Volume of starting base to add
C1= starting nic concentration
V2= final volume
C2= final nic concentration
You don’t give any volumes in your question, but if we assume the vial is 10 ml, it would look like this:
10 * 18= V2 * 6
180/6= V2
30= V2
So with that 10 ml vial she could make 30 ml at 6 mg.
If you want to make 10 ml of 6 mg juice, plug in what you know:
V1 * 18= 10 * 6
V1= 60/18
V1= 3.3
So adding 3.3 ml of the base in a 10 ml will give 6 mg finished.
ATF and ELR should work to do it as well as long as you input all the info correctly. They should look like this

that said, that works perfectly, now that i finally comprehend how do do this. Both on paper, and also using at least elr calculator. I'll keep playing with this. but now, she'll have 20ml of vapabaple, and at an eyeballing...i'll have almost 10ml at my preferred level for the effort, as i do 3mg nic. Win-win.

Hello guys, looking for feedback on a recent recipe i just made and is steeping right now.
- CAP Sugar Cookie 6%
- INW Shisha Strawberry 3%
- CAP Vanilla Custard V1 3%
- TFA Vanilla Swirl 2%
I tried this mix with the concept of nice full texture due to the Swirl (?), which i pray combines well with the tested great flavor of Sugar Cookie+Vanilla Custard, and hopefully some subtle strawberriness on top of that.
I do have my doubts on the percentages, and how will the single strawberry stand between all these? Any thoughts or feedback? TY!
Looks good, like a sugar cookie with strawberry frosting. Probably taste good after just an overnight steep but it won't be at its best until two weeks.
Saw a post in the main sub about fruits fading and it got me wondering since I've been having a similar issue with fruits fading over time. Is there a fixative for fruit flavors to keep them from fading against creams , or is it more of a balance issue with the original recipe? For instance, if I find that my fruits get lost in the creams after a couple of weeks, should I increase the fruits levels at the beginning and let them mellow, or is there something to add that will keep them from fading as quickly or at all?
Just wondering what you guys would suggest for a nice crunchy/puffed/crispy rice flavoring? Love crunchy rice and would like to mix up some juice with that profile; additionally, If you have any suggestions on flavors that go well in a crunchy rice recipe please include those as well! Help is much appreciated :)
Edit: Two more questions, is there any way to effectively make a juice a bit salty? I wanted to make a salted caramel kind of note, was considering using saline but have never used it above 0.5%, and have heard it turns your juice into nasty seafood water if you push it too high.
Last one haha, I REALLY want a super sour lemon or apple candy flavor. I have TFA Sour (malic acid?) But have read that it really mutes flavors and is generally hard to work with. So some ideas and suggestions on how to achieve a nice simple sour Apple, lemon or lime candy would be amazing!

OoO Pickle is pretty salty but it's also an oniony pickle so I don't know about mixing it with caramel, FLV Beer Nuts is said to be salty as well, maybe try that?
FLV Sour Apple. Not as a main flavor, as an additive to sour up your apple, lemon, or lime candy.

I'm an American who moved to Estonia just before TPD hit. My wife and I had no idea it was impending. We just instinctively purchased our 100mg nicotine as soon as we got here (at a local shop) and thought nothing of it.
Now, TPD is obviously in full effect. Being limited to the "boosters" is a real hassle since we missed our chance to stock up. If you live in the EU, what has been your solution?

I like banana cream in a recipe
Tpa banana cream 5%: tpa strawberries & cream 10%.
I have found freshly made it reminds of a recipe that I once substituted banana cream for ripe banana ie
ripe banana 5%: strawberries & cream 10%.
So it by deduction, banana cream is pretty close to ripe banana. Anything I can do (add some tpa cream flavors ) So the final product resembles banana cream ?
TLDR: What is X ? (probably some tpa creamy flavor ?)
X ≈ banana cream - ripe banana
So when I add X to ripe banana, the end product is somewhat vapeable and akin to tpa banana cream.
Go to TFA's website and look at what components are used to make Banana Cream and compare that to Ripe Banana. Whatever's in Banana Cream that isn't in Ripe Banana is X. Now look through the flavors on their website to find something that contains everything in X and very little other things.

Been DIY for a bit now, still haven't really found any recipes that knock my socks off. Everything tastes a bit muddled. Nothing really stand-out-ish that makes me go wow! I've tried tanks, premade coils, RTA's, RDA's (loving RDA's atm! I get the most flavour from them). New cotton, different types of cotton, claptons vs kanthal vs SS. It's got to me be or my recipes.

Did you start off with staples/'safe flavours', ie. did you stick with fruits/desserts? Tobacco flavours/cactus flavours just sound crazy to me. I want to get out of my comfort zone a bit though.

Most mixes I do are TFA/TPA. They're very muddled though. Nothing 'pops'. Nothing makes me say 'wow, that really tastes like strawberry cheesecake'. Rather it's just subtle elements of sweetness and cakey-ness. I left 8 bottles steep for a month, mix of fruits and desserts, nothings blowing my mind.

Thoughts on percentages? I'm mixing older recipes that sometimes have >15% (never over 20%). Is that considered too high nowadays? Less is more? Or does that only apply to certain flavours?

Taste is so subjective, it's hard to advise on this, BUT in my experience if you want flavors that pop:
Just some that I think have a pretty distinct and powerful flavor. Also try doing 60vg 40pg etc for more flavor. Also, if coming from store bought play around with the sweetener especially at first. You can decrease as you go.

I generally mix 70/30 but will try playing with the ratios. I'll add a bottle of sweetener for the laughs on the next order. So sweetener isn't the devil reddit makes it out to be?
Again, it's all about personal risk tolerance I suppose, but store bought juice is loaded with it, using 1% or so in a diy mix to me is fine, and it does help a lot of recipes. Especially in the beginning when adjusting. Overtime you can cut it back to pretty much zero.
Add your flavours - find recipe. Is anyone aware of this feature on any recipe database? I know these exist for food recipes and cocktail making. You add/save a list of flavours you have and it suggests recipes you can make with what you have. I have a bunch of flavours and I just dont know what recipe to make :(
Both ATF and ELR have this option.
ELR it's under flavor stash and above the search bar is the option of "What can I make?".
ATF has it on the drop down menu and says the same thing.
I have a good fruit mix that works for me as far as flavor. I've started adding a drop of INW Cactus per 10ml for juiciness and that's working but seems kind of thin. I've read on using tfa (or other) marshmallow for mouthfeel, but I can't seem to accomplish both at the same time. I either get the juiciness or the mouthfeel but not both. Can anyone reccomend percentages for these 2 to get both, or am I wasting time?
well what was the recipe? there's other ways to get both those using different concentrates, depending on what your trying to make, yes cactus makes things juicer but doesn't mean it will work all the time

Those tags are user driven. I believe they're populated by the top 3 tags that people enter.
I think those are just a duplication though, they only have one Fuji. You'll notice the one just labeled Fuji has direct links to vendors while the other one doesn't. Most vendors call that "Fuji" but I think FA calls it "Apple Fuji".

One short question. Yesterday I mixed my concentrate with a 70/30 vg/pg 6mg/nic. Nicotine base (1 liter) that was previously stored in my refrigerator. - Was it a mistake that I didn't leave the nicotine base on room temperature for 15 or so minutes before mixing with the concentrate (fruity milkshake) ?
I read somewhere that this is the right procedure, but not sure if it really is.
I personally never wait. I often pull my nicotine straight out of the freezer and use it. It's really thick so it takes it a second longer.
Keep in mind I use 100mg/ml of a PG based nicotine. High VG based nicotine tends to separate easier than PG based nic does. So the only thing I would say is make sure you shake it before use but the nic being room temp vs 30 degrees doesn't matter.

I did a sidebar search and a DIY sub search for a list of DIY acronyms and nothing much comes up. What happens is I'm doing research for a recipe or flavor and come across a post or recipe etc. and the whole thing is in cryptic shorthand. I've been mixing for a while so many acronyms/shorthands I'm familiar with. But to a brand new, just got my first flavors person it can be a bit overwhelming to figure out what people are talking about. Specifically I'm trying to find out what "ta" is. from the context of the post I know it's an additive and not a flavor (I don't think). things would be a whole lot clearer generally if words were spelled out. yes, I'm an older dude (I'm not old but for reddit demographic purposes I'm old). but the young folks don't do everything better. done with the rant part.

thanks. my post was both a rant and a question. TFA, FA etc - all those I know as well as EM and AP. Just never came across "TA". I did all the usual searches before posting my question. "TA" isn't on that list. TA being tobacco absolute makes perfect sense as I was researching an RY4 recipe. I would think tobacco absolute is one of the more obscure flavors/additives. I've been mixing just about one year and this is the first time I've heard of it. certainly for the less used flavors/additives spelling it out wouldn't be a bad thing. might help the novice and more experienced mixer alike.
Out of curiosity I did a search for Tobacco Absolute and most of the posts are 3 years or more older. I'm guessing this is a little/no longer used additive.

At the bottom of this comment I went in to a couple of the Tobacco Absolutes that I’ve used. I’ve probably used “TA” quite a few times, but I’ll start writing it out because you make a good point about it not being a very common shorthand. I think I usually use it only after first using the full term, but just in case I’ll write it out. Sorry if it was one of my comments that confused you!

It's better to use sweeter flavors instead of sweeteners. They will either mute the mix or gunk coils; sometimes a little bit of both. Most popular one seems to be Cap Super Sweet, which is 20% sucralose along with some other bullshit you probably shouldn't vape. Flv Sweetness is a good all around sweetener I would recommend personally.
FA Meringue is an excellent sweet flavor in low amounts or depending on the application up to 2% in cereal, cake or pastry mixes. Usually .25%-5% is enough. Flavors like Cap Sweet Strawberry in low amounts, TFA/CAP Sweet Cream for creamy mixes or FA Vienna Cream is really sweet for creamy mixes also. You can find a few more if you search around the sub.

FLV Sweet Fig is a lot like their normal Fig just a tad bit sweeter.
You might look at Cap Fig. It's sweet and has a syrupy jam thing going on with it.

Had just mixed an unflavored 60ml bottle of 1.5ml/mg at 30/70 vg/pg, not where I TIFU'd. I was cleaning up afterword, combining 2 bottle of VG, here it comes, I poured approx 160ml of VG into the approx 250ml bottle of PG.
I have a bottle of the flavors for this recipe already mixed. My question is how can I finish this bottle and for future mixes?
If you want 160 ml of VG to be 30%, then the PG would be 373 ml total. So another 123 ml of PG, including flavors and nic.
Currently, the mix is 39/61 VG/PG, not a big difference really. If you don't have more PG, you could just use it as is.
May have misstated. I need to get the mix to 30/70 VG/VG. And am out of PG.
Just took a look at the recipe, mixing the base and the 16% flavor alone will result in ~~a 25/75 VG/PG ratio~~. So, depending on your nic being PG or VG based and how strong it is, it may even out or you might actually need more VG.
EDIT: Err no, that comes out to 33/67 VG/PG actually.
A couple of questions, both coconut related.
First off, is there a good concentrate for a toasted sweet coconut, or is that something that I'd need to try to make myself? Secondly, after a few weeks steep, a mix I made using TFA Irish Cream and FA Cocoa seems to have developed into a fairly coconut-esque flavor, with the cocoa pretty much disappearing. Ìs that in any way expected? I'm not sure of all the volatiles that would go into various coconut flavors, and how many of them might be present in the mix I made. Or are my taste buds just playing with my head on this?
Haven't tried FLV Sweet Coconut but I hear it's good. However, your best bet for toasted might be TFA Toasted Marshmallow which is very sweet, so a less sweet coconut such as FA or INW might be better. FW Toasted Marshmallow seems less sweet but also not that good for the toasted part.
As for mixes turning into something else, that happens all the time. A lot of concentrates share the same volatiles, it's just the amounts that vary. When you combine them, the perceived flavor changes. Not really expected so much as a possible outcome. The solution would be to alter the percentages, perhaps add in another chocolate. And be sure to really shake the FA Cocoa before use as it loves to separate.
Looking at the Irish Cream and it looks like quite a few of the volatiles used are described as having a coconut taste. So I don’t think you’re going crazy.

From what I’m gathering on the Googles, Canadian cigarettes are mostly made up of Virginias. You could probably do something like:
FLV Virginia- 1.25%
FLV Kentucky Blend- .75%
INW Dirty Neutral Base- .5-1% (depends on how much ash you want)
Cooling agent or Menthol of choice however strong you want it.
Maybe even some INW Tobacco Absolute Virginia at 1%.

How do you guys think companies make straight up bad juice? Before I started DIYing a few months ago I'd sink 50-60 bucks into an ECR recommended company, actually enjoy half of what I got, and the other shit just sits. I've only tried about 15 very different recipes both from here and ATF and I destroy everything I make (I take the chance and always make 50mls of new shit), love it, including a few chocolates that people claim to be difficult(cap double chocolate and chocolate fudge brownie) and even modified a few recipes to suit me slightly better with ease.
So, what the fuck do these companies do? Im not even picky and I realize people have different tastes but damn if a juice sounds good to me premade there's still a really good chance it'll be ass, but if I see a recipe of a flavor I think I'll like it's always great or at least good enough for me to kill 50mls of. I can't understand how these "pro" juice chefs butcher flavors so bad sometimes and still sell it.
I think you're misjudging how "pro" some of those guys are. Some just grab random recipes off ELR, others just do 10% of TFA FlavorX and dump sucralose on it. A pretty bottle and a fancy label later and it's all about marketing. A cool name and a mouth watering description. They don't care how it tastes, they might not even vape themselves, they are in it for the money.
Edit: Also "company" is a misleading term here as it makes you imagine the juice is being mixed in a lab. Instead imagine some beardy fellows basement or garage and you're closer to the truth, even for a lot of the bigger names.
I recently bought the diy kit from Nicotine River and chose the liquid nicotine in the VG base, is this bad? I just based it off of me liking VG more than PG.
It's just harder to work with. The nicotine separates more easily from VG, which means you'll need to shake it thoroughly before use to avoid hotspots. And that's where the problem comes in, as it is very viscous, and shaking it enough can be quite a chore. It's also harder to dispense, since it's so thick. And VG has a shelf life of one year, half that of PG. I would only go for VG based nic if I had PG allergies, but there's nothing wrong with it per se.
So I, when I first tried mixing, just bought a bunch of single flavours that didn't really fit well together, thinking I'd make juice out of each flavour. I tried most of them, and the only one I liked was cherry, so stupidly I ended up with 500ml of purely cherry ejuice. Now, after using it for a while, I am super sick of it. I was wondering if there are any flavours I could add which would make it nice, bearing in mind that it is very cherry-y

You might be able to load it up with a Cavendish-type tobacco, some kind of berry like raspberry or blue raspberry, watermelon, or lime.
I just got my jf Sweet Strawberry in the post and mixed up my ADV( JF @ 3.5 %) which i have been using for the past month However, when tasted my mix the JF strawberry was was so crazy strong I had to throw out a whole 300ml batch.
Overall I have been mixing with JF Sweet for three months so am used to its usual conc strength. I also use it in cheesecake and fruit mixes. But for some reason, the concentrate strength in the 10ml bottlesI got from the vendor was off-the-radar strong.
I've contacted the supplier about this but am wondering has this ever happened to you guys with other flavours?

I just ordered 100 of the 30 ml a few days ago. For my test batches I have some 10 ml bottles that are pretty much the same thing that I get from amazon. Depending on your method for mixing and how steady your hand is, they can be easy to work with. I’ve got PG and VG in condiment bottles for dispensing in to the tiny opening on the bottles. Works pretty well. The only time I ever have any minor issues is with the VG. If you don’t have a steady hand it can clog up the opening of the bottle and start to overflow.
I ordered 50 each of the 30ml and 10ml and some 16oz condiment bottles from amazon. Here's to hoping my hand is steady enough.

I’m sure you’ll be much better off than how I used to mix. I did it by volume, so I measured VG in a beaker and slowly poured it in to that little opening. Shit was ridiculous.

I’ve noticed the recoil with flavor barrel seems to be the preferred setup for testing flavors. I was just wondering why? I’ve got a handful of other mods and RTAs and droppers that I think are pretty tasty. Just wondering if this is a better setup or if it’s just arbitrary.
It's not that the Recoil is the preferred setup for testing flavors. It's that it's /u/ConcreteRiver 's preferred setup for testing flavors and /u/ConcreteRiver is the preferred tester of flavors, so that makes it appear that the Recoil is the preferred setup. I think if you took a poll, you'd find that it actually isn't even in the top 10.
I use the og recoil because I love the airflow, it's easy to wash and rewick, it's solid enough to not feel cheap or wobbly if I'm fucking with it all the time, and the flavor is damn solid for a "bigger" rda. I tend to burn the shit out of my lips on tiny flavor atomizers. But like ID10-T is saying I screw up the curve.

good post - except the mix by volume part. mixing by weight is INFINTELY easier for a newbie. no syringes etc. and almost no clean up when mixing by weight. I would think the average DIY person is mixing for themselves and maybe a few friends and family members so mixing by weight would never really be necessary.

i agree it's not that hard to learn to mix by volume and it makes 100% sense for a juice company to mix by volume. problem is 99% of the people who come to DIY reddit are not juice companies and mixing by volume does not make sense for the VAST majority of home mixers; not to mention it is much more accurate for small batch mixing. Still, if you want to stand on an island and promote mixing by volume - have at it. I was trying to give you constructive criticism. take a look at the sidebar and all the links to DIY tips - you see any of them promoting mixing by volume? No. because for the average person mixing by weight is infinitely easier. nothing to "learn". just look at the scale numbers until the desired number shows up. no messy syringes and extra clean up. If you prefer mixing by volume - great. I guarantee most people who use this site don't.
I was thinking, I have a magnetic stirrer that I used to use to make yeast for brewing. You guys think this would work decent for larger (50ml+) batches to save my arm and get a more thorough mix?
Sure, don't leave it spinning for too long though since the flavors are escaping from the open container, 5-10 minutes tops. And don't use heat unless you need to use max VG and have precise temperature control, then you may see some benefit from 2-3 minutes at 40°C/100°F which will reduce the viscosity of the VG and thus improve the mixing. Any higher or longer and you lose flavor and oxidize the mix.
