Does anyone know of a flavor that has the same profile as TPA's Western but is stronger. I love this flavor but wish it was a bit stronger at lower percentages. If I add more than 3% or so, it seems to burn at higher temps.
Also curious how most would describe this flavor. I absolutely love this flavor and would like to find others that are similar. I have about 13 tobaccos and so far, there are some that I like but not love....
INW Western is similar and ridiculously strong. Like, start out with 1 drop/10 ml strong. SC Cohiba is sort of similar and stronger. SC Maxx Blend would probably also interest you.
Edit to warn: I would suggest those SC flavors over the INW Western. Also, I would describe that flavor as sort of a cocoa leather, if that makes sense. Which tobaccos do you have that you like? I can probably give you a few suggestions based on that.
So far, I only really like TPA Western, TPA RY4 Double, FA Desert Ship, INW American Type, & INW AM4A. Although, that may be due to the fact that I'm not much of a mixer on my own and have yet to find appropriate recipes for the others that I have. Seems like when I do find a recipe that sounds good, I need other flavors.
Others that are okay are: INW Gold Ducat, FA Soho (although I don't really get tobacco from this one), INW 555 Gold (more of a nutty flavor rather than tobacco).
Seems like I really enjoy Western's 'leather' profile. I also like how 'dry' it is although it sometimes seems too dry and I try imagining ways to sweeten and moisten it up a bit. Drawing blanks here so far...
Why do you suggest SC over INW? I've yet to purchase any SC but have quite a few INW concentrates. Most of the INWs I have are quite good.
BCF has an INW Western Blend WG. Is this the same that you are referring too? I already had SC Cohiba in my BCF cart and added Maxx Blend per your recommendation. My wife's gonna divorce me once she finds out about all the concentrates I've ordered the last 3 days....
Based on what you really liked, you might also like INW Canadian Type, INW Desert Voyager, SC Old Captain, INW Dromedary (also called S'Camel), HS Red USA Mix, INW Tobacco Symphony, and FA Tuscan Reserve.
I wonder if a little bit of Am4a with the Western would help sweeten it and help with that dryness. Maybe like .75% Am4a. TFA Toasted Marshmallow is a nice additive for some tobaccos to add a thicker mouth feel and a little sweetness without getting in the way of the flavor.
INW has a lot of my favorite flavors, but the Western Blend was just not very good to me. Then again, TFA Western wasn't all that good to me either until I dropped it below 1%. So you might enjoy it. Just wanted to give a warning so you didn't get really mad at me if you hate it too haha.
> My wife's gonna divorce me once she finds out about all the concentrates I've ordered the last 3 days....
I usually place about 2 orders a week for new flavors. I think my wife might be saving up all the anger to throw it all at me at once. God speed, friend.
I'm about to place another order and I could use your input. Let me know if there's anything I should drop. I've got most of your suggestions except for Canadian Type & Desert Voyager. Doesn't look like BCF is carrying those yet.

By the way, mad respect for you. Really appreciate the help here and all the flavor reviews you do.
Sorry to jump in on this thread. I keep finding notes in TPA Western that I like, unfortunately accompanied by things I don't. Same for a few other TPAs - DK Tobacco Base, Turkish, RY4 (not double). I've been trying to work out the compound responsible and see if I can buy it separately. I wonder if what you like in Western is Trimethyl Pyrazine...?

Very interesting information! I had never thought of doing that. Searching for flavors based on a common compound... I have several of the flavors listed in that link and I do like all of them... DK Tobacco, Dbl Chocolate Dark & Clear, Dulce de Leche, Espresso, M Type, Penutbutter, & of course Western. Thank you for this information. This method will definitely come in handy, I'm sure.
I would ctrl+f for the word "western" in this thread. There seem to be a few that are similar.
