Similar flavor to capella cool mint that doesnt gunk coils bad?
submitted about 8 years ago by kikuhawki

This stuff gunks coils really badly but the flavor is top notch, if anyone can recommend alternatives and preferable from companies that sell the flavors in 100ml+ bottles

I don’t know of anything similar but you could easily replicate it’s flavor with a non-dairy Vanilla + peppermint + cooling agent. It gunks coils because I’m fairly certain there is sweetener in the flavor. So you may have success just reverse engineering Cool Mint.

I would try something like

  • DIYFS Holy Vanilla @ 1.0 %

  • TFA Peppermint @ 1.5 %

  • FA Polar Blast @ 0.75 %

Obviously you’ll want to leave that sweetener out

Cool Mint Cap is pretty delicious -- the peppermint is a bit one-of-a-kind, in my experience.

I've subbed it with Creme de Menthe TPA (peppermint and vanillin) with good results, but the peppermint is not exactly the same, and the vanilla is not as strong as in Cool Mint. You could add 2% Vanilla Swirl TPA to Creme de Menthe to increase the vanilla and creaminess.

Again, not exactly the same, but it still tastes good.

Imo, FW cucumber mint is pretty similar to CAP cool mint.

I need recommendations or pairing and percentages on cap cool mint, because so far I've found it to be obnoxious to use.

Currently vaping a fruity juice I made with 0.03% cool mint and its ruined the flavour entirely.

Did you mean 0.03% or 0.30%? Because 0.03 seems incredibly low. I double-checked on a calculator, and even at 60 mL, 0.03% is only a drop. Cool Mint is strong, but not that strong.

Either way, for me, it's never tasted good with fruits. It's got a Tic-Tac, slight anise taste that seems to work much better with creams and vanillas. I've gone up to 3% when using it as a stand-alone, and I've used it anywhere from 0.5%-2% in mixes.

It’s quite the potent flavor. What have you mixed it with?

I mixed up some mint / menthol recipes recently including these 2 :-

http://e-liquid-recipes.com/recipe/1599418/Frosty%20Mint%20%28C%26amp;J%20Vapers%20Clone%29

Which contain cap cool mint, I liked the flavor at first and the cool mint was nice, after a week or so the juices started to turn dark red/brown and tasted somewhat funky, the mint sort of broke down, I didn't experience any issues with my coils, I mixed up 100ml's and threw 50ml of each down the drain yesterday and deleted the recipes

Have you mixed up much with cap cool mint ? Did you get the funky taste after a while ?
