The Notorious F.I.G.

You guys like figs? I like figs. How about a fig custard? Sweet and a bit nutty, with just a touch of honey.

The Notorious F.I.G.

Custard (INAWERA) - 2.2%

Fig Fresh (FA) - 2.1%

Holy Vanilla (DIYFS) - 1.8%

Marzipan (FA) - 1.1%

Milk and Honey (Flavorah) - 1.6%

Vanilla Custard v1 (CAP) - 4.2%

Total Flavor - 13%

Custard/Vanilla Custard - This is my go to combo for a thick eggy custard at this point. I love these two together - super rich and dense, it's a good jumping off point for a thick custard.

Holy Vanilla/Milk and Honey - The HV really boosts the vanilla note in this recipe, and adds a touch of creaminess. I've found HV stands up pretty well against most concentrates and really elevates the custard base. Milk and Honey adds some silkyness to the mix and further boosts the creaminess in a really lovely way. I love these two together, especially because the honey is subtle and adds a nice sweetness to the whole mix. It's something different that is really enjoyable.

Fig/Marzipan - These two, in my opinion belong together. The Marzipan kicks up the fig a notch, and also adds a great sweetness and isn't too almond heavy. Reminds me of amaretto. The ripe, sweet, fig sits in that heavenly cream base. It's the star of the show and really makes this custard, in my opinion, something unique and a welcome change of pace.

I love figs, this recipe looks amazing, I will definitely have to give this a try next time I order flavors. Thanks!

Also, as a custard junkie (Cap V1 for the win!) I will definitely have to try that Inawera/V1 combo for some of my other custard recipes, it looks interesting, and I haven't tried anything from Inawera except for biscuit.

Looks fantastic, I love Fig. Sadly I still haven't picked up the INW custard. But I'll keep this in mind when I do.

This looks so good. Thank your for sharing. I've been impressed with INW custard, it's very smooth, the vanilla note is excellent as well. This will be my first fig recipe. Can't wait.

I hate figs but this recipe intrigues me. Can agree with the INW/CAP custard combo, both work great together

Looks good. I've been meaning to grab milk and honey. Now I have an excuse. I'll leave you some feedback when I do.

If you have FLV Fig and the other ingredients, mix up my [Obsidian twist, YakGak] (https://alltheflavors.com/recipes/57252). It's a really good fig recipe.

Any recommended sub for FLV Milk and Honey? Doubt TFA Dairy / Malted + + Cream Fresh and FA Honey (say 0.2%) would be same, but I might try it since been meaning to try FA's Fig Fresh in a mix after liking it solo. Seems it'd work well w/ Marzipan.

Hmm... Might have to give this a go and add some black currant in it, maybe a Yig clone...?
