I see so many recipes calling for Cap VC 1 at 4 to 5 %. The butterness of this flavor is just so overpowering for me personally that I am actually irritated by it. VC2 is less potent, but I find it has an almost beach aroma to it, a saltiness that you smell at the beach. I often use VC2 at 10%.
Today I mixed with a few nut blends with literally 1 drop of VC1 per 10mL mix, and it absolutely transformed my ejuice.
I wonder if there's something like a genetic link to all of this. Because I honestly cant relate to VC1 being at any level higher than 0.33%
I personally just think that different people react to different flavors in different ways. I have a horrible reaction to TFA VBIC it just tastes like straight pepper to me so I can't put it in anything which is sad because there are some recipes I'd like to try that contain it, I have tried CAP version and it's not quite as bad but the pepper is still there and seems to leave after a week steep.
I guess if you think about it, these flavors would be no different than food. How do we explain that I love sushi and my wife would rather eat cereal! The flavors we are playing with aren't really any different if you ask me, everyone reacts differently and what some like or enjoy, others just taste and "get" something totally different.
Just to give you some hope, I too was a pepper taster with TFA vbic for like 2-3 years. I tried it again about 6 months ago and it's almost gone! I can use it at 1-3% with no pepper and it's such a nice creamy vanilla. 4% and up starts giving me the pepper again though. If you have any luck at lower % I highly suggest liquid barn vanilla ice cream. It's even creamier
I have a similar experience with VC1 over 4%, unless accompanied by really potent flavors. The buttery-ness turns into an eggy-ness and overpowers after a steep. Though not as extreme for me for anything over 0.3%. My sweet spot depending on the mix is 1-3%. If a recipe calls for more than 3% I'll either leave rest out or sub with flavors like TFA Vanilla Swirl, FA Fresh Cream, INW Shisha Vanilla etc. again, depending on what I'm looking for.
