Weekly 'Suggest a Recipe for my Flavors' Thread - Week of September 08, 2017
submitted about 8 years ago by AutoModerator

Got a bunch of flavors but not sure how to make them work together? Post your list here, and our team of semi-professional mixologists will make suggestions for you! If you are impatient and want to do this on your own, here are a couple of good links:

  • /u/daath has a nice website that has this functionality, but you will need to register to make it work. It is not very intuitive but if you work with it you can input your flavors and get a list of recipes that you can make. IMO this is the better site if you have the patience to make it work for you. Edit2: to get this to work, first set up an account. Then add your flavors to the stash (under my page / my flavor stash). hit save. Then go back to the front page and click the link next to the search field, "Search by flavor stash". You can select a couple of your flavors and recipes that have those will pop up.
  • This site has a nice big search button with just what you're looking for.

Happy Mixing!

Could any of you mixologists suggest a cheesecake recipe that doesn't use Graham cracker as the biscuit base?

The thing is, in Ireland and England cheesecake bases are more buttery biscuit-based and are often made with Macvities digestive biscuits, which I'm not sure you can get in the States.

Nobody I know here has ever heard of Graham Crust. And whenever I vape a cheesecake recipe, it has an American Graham Cracker base which tastes odd in comparison to our sweet buttery digestive biscuit cheesecakes on this side of the pond.

Another problem is that some mixers overload their juices with Graham Craker Clear, CAPs Graham Cracker/TPA cheesecake Graham Crust instead of using it as a flavour note or enhancer. This can make cheesecake bases too harsh giving off a stinging peppery or cinnamon hit on the exhale.

It was this subjective con that got me trawling through reddit threads and eliquid recipe forums in order to compile a "warning list" of peppery flavours to avoid. Can't stand that pepper/harsh cinnamon taste.

Sorry if I'm waffling on too much. Only just getting into DIYing juice so am on a steep learning curve.

Try

  • CAP NY cheesecake 3%

  • INW or JF Biscuit at 1% or FA cookie at 2%

  • Add some fruit or more cream

I also found this biscuit flavour on ELR called Digestive Biscuit (Chef's Choice ). "An excellent and pretty spot on flavour for a traditional English sweetmeal digestive biscuit. Adds a nice amount of sweetness."

Is that a flavor or a one shot? Never tried it but if you can grab a small bottle it's worth a look. Anything that sounds good , I always have to try for myself:)

Alright so I have a recipe that I have loved for almost a year now but I just went to ECC and got to try my favorite juice again and it made mine feel very unflavorful. I prefer fruits heavily over any creams, most creams I do like are dairy based so pretty much the only flavor I would like out of mine are cream fresh but any suggestions please let me know. I also like some cereal vapes but im very picky on them and have not made a recipe i could ADV.

here it goes;

LA Lemonade ( HAd a great strawberry lemonade recipe but just got tired of it.

Cap Golden Pineapple

TFA Juicy peach

FA White PEach

Cap sweet strawberry

TFA Bavarian Cream

INW Raspberry

a little bit of TFA Apple

FA Fuji

INW Cactus

FA Lemon Sicily

Strawberry ripe

TFA Dragonfruit

little bit of TFA Pear

INW Grapes

TFA Sour

Koolada

TFA Pineapple

FA Kiwi

TFA Forrest fruit

TFA Sweet Raspberry

RF SC Cinnamon Toast

RFSC Strawberry

RFSC Condensed Milk

RFSC Pear

RFSC Apple

RFSC Blue raz

FW Fruity flakes

FW Hazelnut

FLV Lemon tea ( would love to use this but I triued a couple recipes and it wasnt that great.. maybe a differnt tea recommendation

FW Fruit rings

TFA Sweet Cream

TFA Crunch berry cereal

FA Meringue

CAP NY Cheesecake

TFA MArshmallow

TFA VBIC

TFA Fruit rings w/ milk (lemon pledge with milk)

TFA Vanilla Swirl

CAp Cinnamon Danish Swirl

FA Fresh Cream

CAP VC V1

TFA Cheesecake Graham Crust

Cap Graham Cracker

Here is my previous ADV if you want to reference it for suggestions. http://e-liquid-recipes.com/recipe/1510596/Fruit%20Juice

Thanks for everything in advanced.

Have you tried:

Best Damn Pink Lemonade

Backwoods Lemonade

TheHimCatself

Peaches & Cream

Mother of Dragons' Milk

Cliche

Coop's Kiwi Cheesecake

Cereally Easy Loops

Cinnamon Roll Apple Danish

?

If you haven't tried those, you should. If you tried some of them and like them, I'll suggest some variations of them that you might like just as much, if not more. If you tried some and didn't particularly enjoy them, we'll know what to stay away from.

Also try:

Pineapple Tea: 2.5% FLV Lemon Tea + 2% TFA Dragonfruit + 2% CAP Golden Pineapple + 1% TFA Pineapple.

Were there any of those that you particularly enjoyed or might have enjoyed if they were a little different? You might be able to do some tasty variations on them, such as replacing the Forest Fruit in Cliche with Fuji.

So the pineapple tea is definitely more of a pineapple with a little tea. I think FLV lemon tea gets muted easily or something because I also tried a similar recipe with LA lemonade and I could barely taste the tea. I'll have to do some single flavor tests to see if it's getting muted or just need to up the percentages.

Pineapple with a little tea sounds good to me. But if you want something with more tea... have you tried Flavour Art Black Tea? I spelled out Flavour Art because I didn't want FA getting confused with TFA Black Tea, which is nasty.

As a relative noob to diy, I only have a handful of flavors

Tfa cheesecake Fa raspberry Tpa Bavarian cream Fa Florida key lime Fa lemon sicily Rf lemonade Inw mango Fa marshmallow Cap NY cheesecake Cap sweet mango

I've made a mango cream juice which turned out good, but haven't really made anything great with the rest yet. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Yeah, it is. I havent found any recipes that call for it. It was suggested to me by the company i purchased from when i emailed regarding my flavor profiles i enjoy. I havent added it to any juices yet, but when i taste the flavor solo i get a really raw flavor that tastes like straight rind.

by twoambienabout 8 years agoOne of "The Damned"

I really like NY Cheesecake all by itself. 9% is what I use. If that's too much, 5-6% instead. I steep it two weeks, probably don't need that long but it improves greatly with a steep.

It's a really smooth, delicious cheesecake with strong pleasant graham cracker crust notes.

1 points

by ID10-Tabout 8 years agoWinner of the 2nd DIYorDIE World Mixing Championship

Can you share that Mango Cream that turned out good? I don't like that INW Mango but if you made something you enjoyed with it, someone might be able to suggest a different bottom for it (maybe your mango will work with a cheesecake too?) or a different top for your cream (Key Lime, Raspberry, Lime-Raspberry, or Mango-Lime) that will also work well for you.

3 points

by Parabolicsarcophagusabout 8 years ago

Yeah, absolutely. It was a really simple recipe.

4% TPA Bavarian Cream 5% CAP Sweet Mango

1 points

by ID10-Tabout 8 years agoWinner of the 2nd DIYorDIE World Mixing Championship

Well that is a simple recipe! But since you know you like 4% TFA Bavarian Cream, and CAP Sweet Mango, let's play with those. Try:

Key Lime Cream: 1.75% FA Key Lime, 4% Bavarian Cream.

Raspberry Cream: 2% FA Raspberry, 4% Bavarian Cream.

Raspberry-Lime Cream: 1.5% FA Key Lime, 1.5% FA Raspberry, 4% Bavarian Cream.

Mango-Lime Cream: 3% CAP Sweet Mango, 1.25% FA Key Lime, 4% Bavarian Cream, 1% FA Marshmallow.

Mango Cheesecake: 4% CAP Sweet Mango, 5% CAP NY Cheesecake, 2% TFA Cheesecake Graham Crust, 1% FA Marshmallow.

Don't make giant batches of those. If I had to guess I'd say you'll really like 2/5 of them, but you we don't know which ones until you try. Also, the Cheesecake one will need to steep for a week or two.

Try Sugar Cookie 6% + Vanilla Custard 3% + Cinnamon Danish 1.5%. Steep for one week.

And Vanilla Custard 6% + Graham Cracker Clear 2% + Sugar Cookie 1%. Steep for two weeks.

And Strawberry Ripe 6% + Blueberry 4% + Harvest Berry 3% + Dragonfruit 1%. Steep overnight.

Vanilla Wafer Banana Pudding by u/Vurve

https://alltheflavors.com/recipes/3428

I don't necessarily enjoy Banana flavors, but this has been the best recipe i've made thus far, and i've made the 15 highest rated/most popular recipes on ATF. You have every flavor for it, and you should at least try it once! I usually vape it instantly but it slowly gets better over the course of 2-3 days.

I finally got around to it last night, first impression that it was good at first but got old pretty quickly like how most desserts etc. typically are for me. I'll have to revisit again of course, with a fresh wick and a couple day steep.

TPA: Watermelon, Kiwi double, Ry4 double, Strawberry, Strawberry Ripe, Bavarian Cream, Sweet cream, vanilla swirl, Menthol, Koolada, Pina Colada, Coconut

Cap: Cappuccino, Honeydew Melon

Some in low quatities, need to buy flavours now

Try: Strawberry 6%, Watermelon 4%, Pina Colada 2%, Coconut 1%.

And: Kiwi Double 4%, Bavarian Cream 5%, Coconut 1%.

My flavour stash and favourite recipes (made all except muffin man as need to get more concs), would love some recs on decent fruity/cookie/custard/cheesecake recipes. Only thing I can think to say is I don't really enjoy dragonfruit on it's own, so Girl with the dragon cheesecake is only on there for a friend. Anything interesting would be great too

1 points

by ID10-Tabout 8 years agoWinner of the 2nd DIYorDIE World Mixing Championship

Fruity: 3.5% Banana Cream, 1.5% Peach Juicy, 1.25% Orange Cream. This will need to steep for at least a week.

Cookie: 6% CAP Sugar Cookie, 3% TFA Vanilla Custard. Again, one week minimum.

Custard: 5% TFA Vanilla Custard, 2.5% TFA Vanilla Bean Ice Cream, 2% Cheesecake Graham Crust. Two weeks.

Cheesecake: You really need another cheesecake to make a great cheesecake recipe. Recommend CAP New York Cheesecake. This is probably the best I can do without it. 4% TFA Cheesecake Graham Crust, 2.5% TFA Sweet Cream, 2% TFA Vanilla Custard, 1% TFA Vanilla Bean Ice Cream. Steep two weeks for a plain vanilla cheesecake. If you like that, try another batch with 5% Strawberry Ripe and 2% Raspberry Sweet added to it for berry-topped cheesecake.

This might change your mind about dragonfruit: Mother of Dragons' Milk.

If you want to do something great with Dulce you're going to to have work with that odd chocolate off note that it strongly has, rather than against it.

Try 4% Vanilla Custard, 2% Graham Cracker, 1% Dulce. Steep 2 weeks.

and 3.5% Banana Cream, 1% Graham Cracker, 1% Dulce. Steep 1 week.

Hello people. I am very new to DIY but have started with quite a lot of success, both in mixing and in the results. (mostly)

So far i made Gods Milk, Khaleesi's Milk, and Sugar cookie all by ID10-T recipes with good results after letting that DX Bavarian steep a lot.

My current stash is:

• TPA Strawberry Ripe

• TPA Strawberry

• TPA Dragonfruit

• TPA Vanilla Swirl

• TPA Vanilla Bean Gelato

• TPA DX Bavarian Cream

• CAP Sugar Cookie

• CAP Vanilla Custard V1

I am open to hear any recipe you could share with me since i try to gather as much info as possible on what works and what doesn't. Thanks !

2 points

by Divenoabout 8 years ago

I do, especially after you get used to it you just vape it no thinking.

Thing is i am just new at DIY coils at the same time, so my build's performance differs a lot due to experimentation, and the juice taste as well. After using both of your Milk's recipes i have made some simple recipes (not tried them yet). Take a look if something is glaringly wrong (like too high percentages on certain flavors that shouldn't be used like that.)

Rec #1:

• TFA Strawberry Ripe 5%

• TFA Vanilla Gelato 4%

Rec #2

• TFA Strawberry Ripe 2%

• TFA Strawberry 3%

• TFA Vanilla Gelato 3%

• TFA Vanilla Swirl 3%

Finally the next flavors i plan to add to my stash are INW Shisha strawberry and TFA Cheesecake graham crust. Any suggestions?

BTW thanks a lot, i have followed your stuff a lot, been really helpful.

2 points

by ID10-Tabout 8 years agoWinner of the 2nd DIYorDIE World Mixing Championship

I don't think recipe 1 is going to taste very good. Ripe is not enough to be a great strawberry & cream type by itself and same for Gelato alone as a creamy base. Recipe 2 looks much better, but you might want to bump those strawberries up to 3% and 4%. Adding 1% Dragonfruit to them wouldn't hurt, either.

You're gonna love that Shisha Strawberry and TFA Cheesecake Graham Crust is super useful, too. When you get those in, try:

3% Shisha Strawberry + 2% Strawberry Ripe + 2% Strawberry + 1% Dragonfruit. - straight up strawberry vape.

And 6% Vanilla Custard + 2% Vanilla Gelato + 3% Cheesecake Graham Crust + 1% Sugar Cookie. - steep for two weeks.

In the meantime, you could make yourself a strawberry frosted sugar cookie: 6% Sugar Cookie, 3% Strawberry Ripe, 2% Strawberry, 2% Vanilla Custard, 1% Vanilla Bean Gelato.

Just made the double strawberry one. It tastes amazing. Like those strawberry hard candies you get at your grandmas. I can't wait to try the others. I think I just became a DIYer lol.

Flavors

FLV Soursop, cherimoya, guanabana, jackfruit, cream, wild melons, pineapple, cheesecake, cantaloupe, pink guava.

FA Fresh cream, marzipan, liquid amber, apricot, fuji apple, meringue.

TFA Dragonfruit, cotton candy, straw ripe, acetyl pyrazine, graham cracker clear, koolada, pistachio

INW Cactus, pineapple, pitaya

FW Blueberry

Can anyone recommend some recipes for me with these flavors. I am also making a new order in next few days. Was wondering what are some great flavorings to pick up that would mix well with many of these flavors?

From reading a ton of threads here, I've managed to order a few flavours which appeal me to make a strawberry cheesecake. In the process though, i managed to go down a rabbit hole so am not sure how to mix up some of the flavours below, or which ones to combine/leave out. Basically i'm NOT into over-buttery, full-fat cream or "pepper" flavours; hence the cream flavours below. Would appreciate any help. Cheers in advance.

(TFA) Strawberry ripe (JF) Strawberry sweet (TFA) Dragonfruit (FA) Strawberry Red Touch

(Liquid Barn) Vanilla ice cream (FA) Fresh Cream (Cap) Vanilla whipped cream (TFA) Malted milk (TFA) Marshmallow

(FW) Hazelnut (Chef's Choice) Digestive Biscuit (Cap) NY cheesecake (LA) Cheesecake
