IMHO, a oneshot has already been mixed, whereas mixing my own, I can control every aspect of the flavour.

Sure, making your own can be a lot of guess and test, but once it's perfected, it's dialled in to exactly the way my tastebuds want it.

With a oneshot, you can still add a little here and there...but you can't ever reduce the amount of a specific ingredient.

I've purchased one of the oneshots... Rhodonite. It has a bunch of flavors that I don't/didn't have. I think I had 2 of the 8 or 9 the recipe calls for. Although I wanted some new inspiration for my experiments I didn't want to buy a bunch of flavors that I may or may not use (I have plenty of those as is). Also, I can mix it up according to the recommended percentage and know that what I've mixed is what somebody (with actual skill) intended. Lastly it is convenient, if I'm in a hurry or feeling particularly lazy I don't have to gather several flavors and measure etc... One bottle of flavoring and I'm done. I think they're a cool idea and worth it especially if one is trying to save a few bucks, is starting out with diy, or just needs a little inspiration for something new.

oneshots are the worst of both worlds. only slightly cheaper than just buying pre-mix, with almost all the hassle of DIY mixing.

one positive point that i haven't seen yet, is that if you like the looks of a recipe but dont own the ingredients (yet) you can get a one-shot to see if you like the recipe or not, before buying the component concentrates

Is a one shot one flavor or a pre-mixed flavor that you add to your base?

I'm a big fan of them. Not something I personally use, but I think they're a good thing to have on the market. Either as a "first step into mixing your own juice" or as a "No Mr. FDA, this isn't for Ecigs, it's a Beverage Flavor!"

(price needs to readjust down to beverage flavoring prices to make that a reasonable loophole, i.e. we bought multiple Cherry Flavoring 4x1 gallon cases at a time at Pepsi)

My first "DIY" juice, in 2009'ish, was simply a weak nicotine juice and a bottle of "mint" flavoring.

I think lots of people use oneshots for the price, and control over PG/VG & nic levels, myself included. But there's little reasons why oneshots users would subscribe or participate in a DIY subreddit.

In my case I tried to DIY but I'm not methodical enough to really elaborate some recipes. So I switched to oneshots, and pretty much never looked back.

It's just a step between full DIY and juices: cheap enough to try stuff without risking to loose too much money, and having recipes made by much more competent people. The best of both worlds !

One shots are gaining popularity. I think they are great for people who don't take mixing too seriously and just want something cheap to vape or for new mixers just getting into the game. I bet we start seeing more of them.

Starting out, I would have probably bought these, but once you get into creating your own profile and piling up flavors, it is nice to have the flexibility to make a tweak or two, or just develop something yourself. Today I wouldn't buy them, as I typically have the ingredients for most recipes already, minus florals which I have little desire to try.

I diy a lot, but I still order a one shot from OSDIY: Lucky Shot. It's $30 for 16 oz which is pretty cheap.

It's very good on its own and I like it best at 7% flavoring, so one giant bottle goes a looooong way. It can be changed in subtle ways, adding caramel, hazelnut, coffee, etc does really well. I mix it at 6% with 1% caramel and .5% hazelnut and that's what my husband vapes with his morning coffee.

That said, nearly all one shots are a waste of money. I've seen many at $30 for 60 ml and that's just outrageous to me. I've found a few that I love, but the prices tend to be awful. OSDIY is definitely the best value I've found, and I suggest them to new diyers.

Full DIY is almost certainly cheaper. I've never bought a one-shot but it has to be, they are inserting a middle man and likely multiple layers of middle-men.

One On One just released some one shots and they want 12.99 for enough to mix 120ml, plus the VG/PG and the bottle. That seems kind of steep, but if it were closer to the price of what it might cost to make a 15% flavor mix, I would do it for convenience. I think I average about $3 per 120ml including the bottle, so for me it's a price issue.

It really depends on pricing. I have a one shot from Flavour Depot (I am in the UK) that I buy from time to time. It costs about double what normal flavouring costs, but thats still pretty cheap. I mix it at 10% despite them recommending 15% and that also keeps the cost down where I am willing to use it. I have tried to clone it, with no luck, and just gave up and buy it premade. As long as the price stays within reason, I don't beat myself up about it.

That said, I have seen others that are way more expensive, and it can get to a point where I can find juices fully premade for less than some one shots.

And then of course you lose out on the benefit of making it yourself and adjusting things. I DIY mostly because it is so much cheaper so this doesn't really rub me the wrong way, but some guys just on principle don't want anything done for them. I get it, but I am not one of those guys. I don't taste juice nearly as well as I used too, so a lot of the subtleties of these mixes are lost on me. As such, I just use recipes I find online, and when I found a one shot that I could taste for a change, I keep coming back to it.

I buy shit tonnes of one shots. My cupboards are bursting with them.

One shots are more popular than diy mixing by a long shot. You're not seeing the whole picture if you think otherwise.

I don't use one shots because they are usually shit and i can't control the recipe, I exclusively make and vape only my own recipes unless im working with someone.

They're no fun, expensive and harder to tinker with.

Where is a good site to get them from?

I find single testing flavors creates better recipes and fun times for your taste buds.

I've bought a few one-shots. It's a bit of a gamble. Of the six I've bought only 2 were any good with the rest being either too sweet, completely flavourless or totally unvapeable due to tasting like vomit. I'll give a shout out to the good ones, Dark Stars Kanzi and Drip Hacks Verdandi (6 week steep on that baby).

I think one shots are under marketed to many folks who vape. They can, yeah just can, reduce the amount of money you're paying for liquids. There is a company called Central Vapors that sells premixes of all of their flavors. What I did with them is order some of their sample packs, pick out the flavors I like and buy the premixes. 10ml's are <$4. Sure someone would have to pick up the nic/vg/pg, but overall it reduces the cost of liquid without needing to have all of the equipment and mixing as much yourself.

I've been mixing for about 2 years. Oneshots are not attractive to me in the slightest. There may be others like me.

My view on one shots is you have to find brands you actually like. It takes a little shopping at first but once you find an adv it is awesome. I vape my own one shot all the time cause it takes less than two mins for me to whip up 120ml

If they are shitty one shots you are not going to enjoy it, but once you find winners that are a great way to take a day off from mixing. It's really about finding advs that work then you are set. And I'm someone who mixes almost daily and released one shots in UK and US.

And sometimes if you don't have the flavors on hand the one shot under $10 makes better sense. Also for a new mixer who wants to see how a good recipe is supposed to taste it's a great way to see where dedicated mixing can lead.

Probably don't know they exist. They're relatively new... OR maybe they don't understand what they are? I would have loved to have one shots available when I started mixing. They are perfect for beginners or when you just don't feel like gathering 5-10 different flavors.

I do both. One shots are good for quick easy juice. And ive tried plenty that were awskme and some that are crap.

But nothing beats mixing from scratch and having controll over what your bulding
