I'm looking at getting some glass bottles to mix in, is there a real difference between the colors or is it just aesthetic?
I'm looking for a good "Tobacco Base" for Fruits, one guy told me i can use DK Tobacco Base (TPA). I have this flavors: Strawberry Ripe (TPA), Cherry Extract Flavor (TPA), Coconut Extra (TPA) and Forest Fruit (FA).
I'd personally stay away from the TFA stuff. I don't have much experience with fruits on top of tobaccos, but I'd maybe try FLV Native, FLV Cured, FE Captain, INW Black for Pipe (this one is a bit strong and smoky, if that's something that interests you. Could probably work with cherry), INW Cavendish works well with the Coconut Extra with Kentucky Bourbon, INW Am4a might work well in a fruit mix, I could see FE Black Mile Plus being good with strawberry, INW S'Camel (aka Dromedary), INW Tobacco Symphony.
I read on here that you can use 0.5% of FW Hazelnut in a strawberry mix to bring out the macerated strawberry flavor without getting a nutty taste, but I bought FA Hazelnut by mistake. From what I understand, FA is a lot stronger than FW flavors. Is there any concentration I can use this in as a replacement in a strawberry mix, or should I leave out the FA Hazelnut altogether?
It's not going to do the same thing that FW Hazelnut does to strawberries, unfortunately.

Dat jam toast. FA Hazelnut is dry and I used it to bring out that part of the toast.
FW Hazelnut is just bomb as fuck and please buy it. It's creamy and malty and delicious. An essential for sure and one of the first flavors I bought in 4oz size. Really dope with strawberry and with any milk type recipe you can think of.
Not a new mixer but have a question not worth making a post about. Have you ever had sweet corn ice cream?
Let's say you created a recipe for a perfect sweet corn ice cream juice. But the problem is, sweet corn ice cream in vape from is nice and all, but it's kinda boring. What would you want on or in that ice cream to make it more exciting?
Nuts? Some kind of berry sauce? Caramel? Butterscotch Marshmallow creme? Some kind of herb or spice? Citrus zest?
I have 2 get my 1st ever post out of the way sooner or later, so here's my suggestion. Lime and mango and/or pineapple...with sweet corn - it'd kinda be a tropical sweetcorn relish. I think. I'm just in the "studying phase" of diy so I apologize if that sounds outlandish. I have no idea what I'm talking about for ejuice, but I just had some fresh mn sweet corn prepared like that & it was fantastic.

You're crazy. But I know of a couple of tobaccos that might fit very nicely with that sweet corn and ice cream.
TPA Butter, some Saline, and a top note of crunchy sweetness would be to die for in a sweet corn ice cream. I've not yet had a DIY juice that has properly balanced a flavorful mix of sweet and savory. What about a fried sweet corn ice cream?
sounds like Experiment One and i wouldn't add anything to it, it's great as is. if maybe you're missing whatever it has: try frosted flakes/corn flakes or bakery.
So I fell victim to one of ELR recipes. I need help salvaging it, otherwise all 120mls are going to a waste. It was one of the recipes that looked good on paper.
The recipe is
*Butter Cream (CAP) 5%
*VBIC(TPA) 5%
*VC v1 (CAP) 5%
I am thinking of using it as a base but what would pair good with these three flavors. In fruit, I have Strawberry ripe, strawberry, kiwi, watermelon, apple and grape.
That much butter cream might be hard to tame, but I would let it steep for a week or two, then use it as a base like you say, at around 5% maybe. Strawberry will work, kiwi and apple too if you reduce the base a bit, or a combination of them. Don't toss it out, I'm sure you can find a use for it, although 120 ml will last forever.
Gotta cut that buttercream down, a lot. It's one of those flavors I don't go above 2% with, also 5% of TPA vbic and CAP VC just seems like there's too much. Maybe you should cut it in half by adding more PG and VG, then try throwing in some strawberries or something
You were absolutely right. I mixed another 30 ml batch with 25% of base I already had steeped for 4-5 weeks. Added 3% of strawberry ripe and it's a decent vape. I am actually enjoying it now. Well, now I got pre-mixed base that will last me a while as /u/leapinglabrats mentioned. I love this sub is all I gotta say.

that mix could be good if you waited a while. i dont have butter cream though. idk uhm take 10ml of vg and/or pg and add 10ml of that recipe.
if its good s snv or in a week then dilute it all. otherwise dont make 120ml samples in the future.
It's about 4-5 weeks old. Cool I will try your suggestion. I will also search some recipes that use those 3 flavors as base. I usually make 10-30 ml tests but I was mixing a few custard recipes and thought what the heck! Definitely lesson learned.

I am unsure about creams. I've hated literally every cream profile e-liquid I've tried up to this point, but they've all been commercial juices.
I'm only just getting into DIY, so I wonder if I could make a cream I actually enjoy since I have total control over what goes in the recipe?
The question I have to ask myself: Do I hate creams in commercial e-liquids, or do I hate creams in general?
I got into DIY because even outside of creams I've been unable to vape more than 1-2ml of 90% of the juice I've purchased, only finding 2-3 ADVs out of maybe 90-120 juices I've tried. Maybe it really is only commercial creams I hate?
Cheap nicotine, garbage flavorings, oceans of sweeteners, specific flavorings I am unaware I hate, it could be any number of things that make me dislike the creams I've tried.
I love Apple Waffle from GSV, so that inspires at least a little hope for me, even though it's not really creamy, it is a far cry from my usual fruit/candy vapes.

Is there a simple, highly regarded, impossible to fuck up cream recipe I can try that will help me determine if I actually hate creams? Absolutely not banana though. Anything banana flavored except the fruit itself and actual baked goods makes me dry heave. Probably not strawberry either.
I've got a sneaking suspicion that I am a strawberry non-taster, and I'm still in the process of finding a strawberry blend/combination I can actually enjoy. I've got pretty much every strawberry flavor arriving Friday that I plan to start single-flavor testing on.
I'm also new and also very picky. What I'm doing, and I think it's working well and logical, is focusing not on trying to like flavors I hate -- but instead focusing on those few that I know I like. I love butterscotch in commercial juices, so I buy every Buttescotch flavor I can find, on a quest to make amazing (to me) Butterscotch juices.
I also like custards and cookies -- so I'm doing the same with those.
I hate fruity commercial juices. I'm not trying figure out if all the fruity juices I tried were just the creator or I hate fruity flavors. To be honest I don't really care which it is right now. Maybe later I'll try and create a fruity juice I actually like but for the time being I'm focused on what I already know that I like.
tl;dr focus on what you know you like, not what you don't like.
Get a variety of cream flavors in small bottles and flavor test them. That is the only way you will know. Try a couple marshmallows too.

Have you mixed and tried this? 8% of v2 flavors might be a bit much. Will most definitely increase the steep time. Probably about a month. I would personally shoot a little lower on everything except the cigar. Maybe like Caramel @ 1.5%, Sweet Cream @ 1%, Custard @ 3%, and drop the MTS. MTS isn't really a "first recipe" type of additive. I think in 2.5 years of mixing I've used it for the benefit of a recipe once.
Or if you've already tried this and like it, just rock with it.
I've only been mixing for a week now, but I've already used one additive (TFA Sweetener) in a small amount to great effect. How do I know if I'm "getting ahead of myself" so to speak?
Best thing to do is just research. Very rarely will I pick up a flavor or additive that hasn't been discussed here. If I can't find it here, it's most likely been discussed on ECF or ELR.
As far as MTS goes, it is used to kind of mute high notes in a mix and make it all blend together. I'd imagine that your recipe shouldn't really need it since you've got the vanilla and cream, which should make it pretty well rounded and full tasting already. Adding MTS will end up muting things for you.
The one time I've used it was in a recipe that had some clove and cardamom, which was a bit too intense and I couldn't really taste my base, but dropping the percentages they ended up getting a bit lost. The MTS calmed them down to where they were still on top, but they blended with the base and it all tasted like one juice instead of a bunch of random stuff thrown together. If that makes sense.
I've never mixed my own juice before, but I do know the basic concept. I'm looking to start mixing my own to save even more money (I currently only buy other people's diy's) and possibly sell as well, if I can mix good enough. I'm looking to mainly do basic fruit flavors (blue raz, strawberry cream, watermelon Apple) nothing too complex, but easy enough for me to do that others will enjoy. Any tips you experienced mixers could give me would be awesome.

The best and cheap? You have to pick one of those when it comes to nic. A happy middle ground would be NicSelect and a retailer that sells a lot so it's always fresh (NicotineRiver is probably the cheapest reseller)
You can use any USP VG/PG but buying it online will typically be cheaper because you'll be able to buy a larger quantity. Tractor Supply sells PG but it's $26-$29/gallon vs $17/gallon at NR.
No one can tell you what the best flavors are and the vendors we all use have varying prices and selections that make it almost impossible to pick just one. Between BCF and ECX you have nearly everything covered for selection. Gremlin has a lot of smaller size samples to minimize your investment while trying a lot of flavors and places like Heartland, NicRiver and WizardLabs typically have better deals on larger size bottles.
Get a scale (LB501) from Amazon and go read the sidebar a few times. No one is going to want to buy your juice unless you're good at creating recipes and you won't get good at that without investing time doing research and testing your flavors individually.

Exactly how I feel, to be honest. I hate 90-95% of pretty much all commercial juice out there, which is what led me to DIY now. If I can eventually mix something that ends up being an absolute ADV, there's no reason to believe it's not at least on par with some of the best commercial juice out there.
On the other hand though, I wouldn't really be comfortable selling something that wasn't an original recipe. With the thousands of publicly shared recipes, and the thousands of far more experienced DIYers out there, I feel that's a long, long way off for me if it even happened.
I don't usually push a kit, but this one looks ok for a new mixer. Optional: scale, but highly recommended.
Pick your flavors for tried and true recipes like Strap-On or one of it's many variants.
Blue Voodoo clone hat is an oldie goldie for that profile (I haven't created a better one).
If you like the hobby,I recommend resupplying nic from either Nude(slow but worth it) or Carolina (expensive but fast). PG/VG from Essential Depot, concentrates and empty bottles from Bull City Flavors.

What's a better concentrate to use to try to bring out strawberry, FW Hazelnut or TFA Dragonfruit? Could you use both?
Also, for my little Nautilus 2 that I use high nic juice in, I'd really like to make a sweet-ish mint candy with an icy finish to it. By sweet-ish, I mean that you can obviously tell it's a mint candy and not just straight up listerine/toothpaste/unflavored menthol.

Dragonfruit, absolutely. Hazelnut isn't really used to bring out flavors, but more to add some complexity and thickness to grains or creams.
Thanks! I'm brand new to DIY, but I know that dragonfruit is a good emulsifier. I just read on another thread recently that a few people used FW Hazelnut at 0.5% in a strawberry mix that sent the the strawberry flavor into a macerated strawberry. Sounded interesting.
I have a recipe that tastes GREAT but is too... "rich".. I guess is the best word. It feels both too "thick" in my mouth and too "rich," to the point that I almost feel a little sick after vaping it for a little while. It can be a little cloying. Would I just dilute it with more VG to tone it down a little bit? Also, this is my first DIY recipe, so maybe I'm just getting used to made-at-home??

Depends on what seems to be missing. Is it a lack of fullness in the mouthfeel? Try TFA Marshmallow 1% or TFA Coconut 0.5%. Are the flavors separate and you want them thoroughly blended together? Try TFA Dragonfruit 1% or TFA Strawberry 2%. Can't figure out what's missing? Try TFA Strawberry Ripe 2%. Is the grape just not grapey enough? Try a different grape. Is it not wet and juicy enough? Try INW Cactus 0.25%. The possibilities are endless.

I wouldn't recommend both Cactus and Strawberry Ripe. Might work, but they typically don't go well together. I would stick with just the Cactus. It will add a depth of its own and if you're not getting it at 0.25%, try bumping it up to 0.5% in the next batch.
Hi guys im new at diy but have done extensive research into the subject, i have ordered my nicotine (100mg) mixing equipment, a pre mixed vg70 pg30 base. The flavours for my first recipe i looked at reccomended % from other diyers, let me know what you think of these flavours. I think they could work but id love your input on the base idea 😊

Does adding sweetener to a full bottle of pre-mixed juice require steeping? (I know this sounds like sacrilege). I added 4 drops of FA sweetener to a 10ml bottle to test it, shook it periodically over 2 days and I haven't really noticed it.
I bought a few bottles of LA bakery emulsions. Has anyone used these or recommended against them? It has water, PG and preservatives in it. Will it foul my coils?

I have been meaning to pick up cheesecake for a while now. I have saw several positive comments. I don't remember seeing the other 2 mentioned. Doesn't mean anything tho. I myself would test each one at 3% to get a feel for them. I'd love to know if any of them stand out for you...
So i finally got DNB and well.. i can't taste it, tried at 0.5% in a mix and got nothing. Tried upping it to about 3% still nothing. Tried solo from 0.5% up to 5% and still nothing.
I can't taste strawberry aswell but that's fine, not tasting DNB is just making me sad.
I don't even know if i have a question, maybe wondering if there's something i can do.
Edit: By the way it looks exactly as people described it (really dark etc..) but has no smell to it.

I think I've kind of built a tolerance to it, but when I first got it .5% was wonderful.

The smell from the bottle isn't crazy strong, but it does have a bit of an astringent, ashy smell. It's got that look like it has solids kind of floating in there, so maybe it wasn't well mixed when they filled your bottle. I've noticed the bottle I've been using seems to have less of that stuff floating around, so maybe I'm not actually building a tolerance, but my bottle is weaker. The first bottle I ever had you could see those solids in the drips. Seems to be a bit more mixed in now.
So maybe bad batches do go out. Now I'm worried I might have one.
So this is my first time mixing and I got my order a few days ago. My problem : I only taste VG on all my mixes.
My first try was DIY or Die's Fried Ice Cream using syringes (the scale only arrived today). Probably messed up the dosages but it's ok, I only made 5 ml.
Fast-forward to today, I receive my scale and try to mix Fried Ice Cream again but this time with a scale. I make 10 ml and decide to try it immediately ; I'm not expecting anything great but it was really bad. It tasted like a dry-hit without the cotton actually burning and a bitter aftertaste. I try the other recipe in the video, Strawberry milkshake, mix it, shake it and again, same taste, no other flavor.
Maybe the problem is coming from the steeping time, so I try the mix I made a few days ago with the syringes : same taste, time apparently didn't help.
I thought this was caused by TPA Strawberry (Ripe) so I tried to mix it alone, at 8% in a 5ml (70/30). Again, same horrible taste but I can't feel the Strawberry. I try to add 2 drops of EM to see if there is a difference : nothing changed.
I decided to vape the VG alone to see if it was causing the problem, this is definitely the only thing I'm tasting in every other mix.
How can I know if the VG is bad or if it's just me? Should I contact the seller? The batch number is written on the bottle, can I just ask him to check? Thanks in advance and sorry if I'm not clear !
VG isn't supposed to taste anything but slightly sweet, if it tastes horrible it's definitely bad. Is it a thick syrup or really watery, any smell or discoloration? Either way, if you're sure it's not your tank or residue from something else, contact the seller.
It is a thick transparent liquid. There is a slight smell but barely noticeable. I tried tasting it on my tongue and it's really sweet but no unpleasant flavor. The problem is that when vaped, the smell that was hard to notice when the VG was liquid gets stronger and become the dominant note both in the smell and the taste of the vapor.
Yea, that shouldn't happen, it's been spoiled or contaminated somehow. Fortunately, VG is cheap and easy to come by, you could get a small bottle from some other place to compare, but if you vape straight VG and it tastes bad, you should complain and they will likely send you a new batch free of charge.
Where did you get your VG? You linked videos. Did you use a calculator to mix the recipes?
Sorry, I forgot the most important. So yes I used this calculator and got the VG from diy-ejuice.com. They have good reviews, on this sub too, so I probably messed up something but I'll contact them just to be sure !
So I bought a few TFA flavours to try out as I'm 80% certain it was the concentrate from Vampire Vape that didn't agree with me. I picked out ripe strawberry, marshmallow, dairy/milk, spearmint, dragonfruit and vanilla swirl all in 10ml bottles just to try out for myself.
I know I want to mix this at least 70/30 and preferably 80/20 of VG/PG but I'm lost.
I have 2 x 10ml 15mg nicotine shots mixed apparently 70/30 (but some staff members say it's 100% PG). I'm unsure how to actually mix based on nicotine shots since I started this game way too late.
Couldn't afford £15 for 30mls that lasts me a few days. I currently go through 50mls a week.
Edit: I vape 3mg and chain vape, I like fruity flavours but after ordering don't hear incredibly great things about ripe strawberry.
I also want a menthol vape but I don't want the spearmint to be too strong.

I posted recently about my nicotine levels,(former smoker) but I already ordered some bottles of 3mg nicotine ejuice and have been blowing through it. People suggested I at least get 6 or 12mg, but I already ordered, so it was suggested I add some nicotine myself. I ordered some 100mg nicotine and it should be here soon, but I have 3 1/2 120/ml bottles of the 3mg stuff I need to cut it with.
From what I read, 100mg of nicotine is referring to 100mg per ml. So 3.5ml = 350mg, mixed with 120ml of other liquid, should be right, to get me just below the 6mg liquid. Is my math wrong? Maybe even keep it at 3ml just to be safely low on the levels. Oh, and does it take time to settle for safely vaping or can I vape it after mixing it well?
Your math is correct. Since nic is dealing with mg/ml, you can pick the math apart pretty easily.
Your 120 ml of 3 mg/ml contains a total of 120*3=360 mg of nic. If you add 350 mg of nic to that, you have 710 mg of nic. The total amount of liquid at this point is 123.5 ml, so just divide 710 by 123.5 and you get 5.75 mg/ml.
If you use 3.8 ml instead of 3.5 ml, you get 5.98 mg/ml. I don't have the formula memorized to make it exact. Nothing wrong with using an ejuice calculator though, I just like to double check by hand.
New mixer here - I ordered a "starter kit" of sorts from Vapewild last week and have been mixing with 6 of their flavorings (grapefruit, orange, peach, green tea, honey and coconut) to decent results.
I want to expand my flavors, and get cheaper VG/PG and better nic (whatever VW uses is kind of harsh, even at 2%).
Are there any good websites that carry an array of flavoring brands so that I don't need to order from multiple sources?

How is the throat hit nicotine from VaporsTek? I'm interested in keeping my MTL juices for my Nautilus 2 throaty like 24mg but dropping the nic level to around 12mg so I can puff on it more often. At the same time though, I don't want my 3mg mixes for DTL to be overly harsh.
Alright, out of cheapness to save on shipping for my first order I just got VG from bull city, this shit doesn't suck or is low quality is it? Have you ever noticed a difference in VG in general?
And about the nicotine. I ordered a 120ml sample of Carolina xtracts 100mg, but this is only going to last me a few months vaping like 120mls a week after some math. I forgot to get more brown bottles but I have I think 4 empty brown 60 and 120 bottles from a juice company I can clean out. But they're simple ejuice dropper bottles, can I find some better lidded containers because they don't seal the best? So, I'll probably keep about 15mls out in a drawer, but just how much damage can be done each time you open your freezer stock? Will I be fine splitting into 2-3 bottles?
It's kinda expensive, but I want my juice to be supremium, do you think Carolina is worth it or is one of the alternatives pretty much just as good? Only vape 3mg
The main difference with VG is the price. A lot of vendors resell the same VG but end up pricing it different based on the volume they're able to sell. Don't get your VG on BCF and ignore people who say Amazon is the way to go. NicRiver is cheaper for VG than Amazon even if you don't spend enough there for free shipping.
It's perfectly fine to split up that amount of nic but I've had no problem leaving 120ml on my desk for 2-3 months. If I were you I'd make your next order 120ml of Vaperstek nic and see for yourself if Carolina is worth the difference.
Less than a week old mixer here doing my first real strawberry mix as a semi-strawberry non-taster. Sometimes I can taste it fine, other times not at all. I'm sure it depends entirely on what strawberry different vendors are using.
Would anyone be willing to take a look at my recipe and suggest changes before I needlessly waste supplies?

The first time I tried to make a strawberry I didn't have Dragonfruit, and the only strawberry concentrates I had were TFA Strawberry and FA Strawberry. I barely got any strawberry out of it at all. Don't remember the exact ratios I used though. It was the very first thing I mixed, and I didn't take notes.
Here's a link to all the flavors I currently own. Feel free to suggest anything out of there that might work better. If there are other concentrates I should buy instead, don't hesitate to suggest any. I'm placing another flavor order today anyway.
If you can't taste strawberry well, INW Shisha Strawberry is probably your best bet. Edit: out of the strawberries you have.
I'd leave the Strawberry Ripe and Sweetener out of this and cut the CAP Sweet Strawberry in half.
Alpine and INW Wild Strawberry work well for non tasters

I just have mine on a table, exposed to lots of light. What's going to happen to them?
New to vaping here, just got my starter kit (2 bottles VG, 1PG, 5 flavors and 50mg/ml nic).
Always vaped premium eliquid with no trouble, but friday I tried to mix my own and got a terrible throat irritation when inhaling and mostly when exhaling. Tried to vape only VG, went smooth, only PG, went smooth, both together went smooth too, but when I add any flavor or nic it gets terrible, even with like 3% total.
My flavors are Strawberry (Ripe), Bubblegum, Creme de Menthe, Black Honey and Vanilla Ice Cream, all by TPA.
Any idea what could cause this? I'm used to smoking tobacco so I guess nic isn't the problem (but even VG+PG+Nic with no flavors gave me this dry sensation)
