Hello everyone. Before I start talking about the update over at MixeJuice.com I want to thank you guys for all the support I received when I debuted the site here on this subreddit 3 weeks ago. I got a lot of encouraging and helpful input that really motivated me to get this new version out to you guys as quickly as I could.
The new version is live now and with this release comes some of the most highly requested features:
- User accounts
- Save & rate your recipes (server side this time!)
- Save & manage your flavors
- Sort your flavors and recipes by different criteria
- Mix recipes to automatically adjust your flavor amounts
With these new features, MixeJuice.com is perhaps the best tool out there for mixing and managing your e-Liquid flavors and recipes. I hope you guys like the update and if you haven't checked out MixeJuice.com yet, well now is a better time than ever!
Let me know what you think and if you encounter any bugs please report them to me! Also, there were some feature requests I wasn't able to get to in this iteration but I plan to continue to update this app with more features in the future!

NOTE: If you had saved recipes using the last version of MixeJuice.com you will be given the option to restore these recipes after you sign in and go to the mixer. Your recipes will be removed from local storage and stored in the cloud so they will be accessible from any device.
- Update 8/12: Fixed a bug where if a recipe was saved with 0mg nicotine strength it would load back up at 6mg. Thanks twoambien for pointing this out.
- Update 8/13: Added some tips to the dashboard to make some things a little more clear.
wow. you passed my security litmus test. you accept 100 character passwords. i don't think i've ever seen that on a project like this. most fucking banks wont even let you do that.
well designed too. do you have larger plans for this long term? can't imagine a recipe mixing tool has much legs but does seem like a solid jumping off point.
That's really cool and all, but why the hell do you use 100 char passwords?
Well, I'd love to take credit for that but honestly I had nothing to do with it. I'm using Google Firebase for Authentication which takes care of the entire sign in process for me. I liked this since it means most people won't even have to create an account, they can just use an account on another site to verify their identity.
This also means that MixEJuice.com does not see or store any passwords. In fact, there is no user information stored at all other than an email address and a display name.
Feedback:
While it's not horrible the 'Flavor' adding is a bit tedious and not the same great UX as the rest of the site. I would allow us to enter it right there without the popup. Something like this:

I'd make each field optional + allow us to work on as many as we want at once.
The only required field is the name. Amount & Brand are optional. I could probably make this a little more clear. Also, there is an option to keep the flavor dialog open to make adding multiple flavors fast.
If you're adding flavors to the mixer, and not to your inventory, there is an option to not display the dialog at all. Check the top right for "Options". Let me know if this helps or if there's still something you'd like to see changed.
Huh- kind of curious as to why 100 character passwords would ever be necessary. Even UUIDs are only 32 characters, drawn from a limited pool. I mean- no harm in allowing them, but it seems like an odd litmus test.
I think they just meant they were impressed by the length of passwords the site would accept, a lot of sites put unnecessary restrictions on password length like max 16 chars. Having something large allows for use of passphrases too, which a lot of security minded folks have been starting to use.
I'm sure it is not the most precise litmus test but there does seem to be a strong correlation, from my experience running it, between companies I see as probably being very good at security (Google, Facebook, Dropbox, Amazon etc) and companies that probably suck at it (pretty much any old-school non-tech company) -- and the length of password they will allow.
Given that, it helps me sort out the companies in between the two I'm not sure about. Say someone like Target or GoDaddy -- or Reddit lol -- who I think could have either good or bad security. If they allow me 100 characters or if they restrict me to 12 or something, that to me is a good indicator of how good their security probably is. (Reddit's get's an A+ on this test. Can have 100 characters w/ special characters).
Yes, I have more plans for this app. I have a whole list of feature ideas in front of me for the next release. For example, wouldn't it be kind of cool if you could just drag flavors from your inventory into a "new recipe" box to start a recipe? That would be faster than adding each of your flavors through the dialog. That's just one idea of many I have for the future.
I'm confused what you mean when you say that you "can't imagine a recipe mixing tool has much legs". Would you care to elaborate?

By legs I just meant potential. Like even if this becomes the default mixing tool that everyone uses -- that still seems like a pretty small site/app. With a correspondingly small earning potential for you ;)
So I was asking if you had ambitions to grow it into something larger later. Like for example a competitor to ELR/ATF, or something else.
I would like to, yes. I'll be taking a break from working on it for a little bit, but I'm planning to add much more. I would love for it to grow to become the #1 site/app for DIY mixers over time. While it's more of a personal mixing tool right now, I can see a future where I allow users to make their recipes public to create a large public recipe database like ELR.
YES! Thank you so much for this update. I've been using your calc for quick mixes lately and really enjoying it. Looks like I can start to migrate over all my old recipes too. I've shared your calc with quite a few people and everyone really liked it. Great work!
Rad update, man! I noticed one issue on iOS though. The GUI got a little jumbled up. Here's a screenshot: Imgur link
Other than that it's looking fantastic! Good job, sir. :)
Interesting. I'll try to figure out what's going on there. Thanks so much for pointing this out to me.
Good work. I really like the interface, it's very intuitive and easy to navigate. The only minor gripe I have is that the user presets (nicotine strength, pg/vg ratio, etc.) revert to default with each new recipe creation. Overall, this is quite impressive.
Looks great! There are a few features that hotrod uses in his calculator, to adjust previous batches. Would be great to have in depth batch management, as many require steeping.

Do you have any plans for a android app?
There are currently no plans to make an android app but that's not to say that it won't happen. I know there are people out there that would prefer an app that can be used offline over an online-only Web app so we'll see.
I've never used hotrod's calculator. Would you mind elaborating on the specifics of this feature you'd like to see implemented? I have plans to add flavor notes, recipe notes and recommended steep times.
