Have you ever modified premium ejuice using your concentrates?
submitted about 8 years ago by rancidpandemic

Hey all. Basic beginner mixer here, still trying to find that perfect recipe and mix my first ADV. In the meantime, I happened across a bottle of GrimmGreen Bro Trip that i had put aside awhile ago. I had tried to vape it, but found that it was just too harsh for me. Too strong on flavor and had that stomach acid feeling that i hate with most citris/fruit juices. well, i decided to modify it and have been pleased with the results.

I added ~1% Cap Whipped Cream, 5% VG, 1% PG to the 100ml that was left in the bottle at the time. I found that diluting the juice a bit as well as adding the whipped cream really mellowed out the flavor and got rid of the stomach acid flavor. Since then, i have made sure to keep it in my tank's rotation with 2 other juices.

This made me wonder: Has anyone else here modified a "premium" juice to better fit your tastes? If so, what did you add to which juice and how did it turn out?

I have on rare occasions. I ordered from a vendor online and bought way too much. The juices lost flavor quickly. I added to that a little to spruce them up, but ended up throwing them out and just made my own. No reason to polish a turd when you dont have to.

There are some premium juices that I find too sweet so i dilute them down with a pg/vg mix

All the time, though generally its mouth feel stuff rather than flavour. I find that's the killer part about most commercial e juice.

Sure, this churro flavour has a nice cinnamon taste, but that's all they did. Churros are a thick, doughy thing.

I totally agree. All premium ejuice has that weird almost filmy mouthfeel. I'm pretty sure a lot of them use food coloring because nothing I'm mixed has come close to the vivid colors I've seen in "premiums". Unless they're using 20-30% flavoring, which is totally possible.

I find this to be accurate. Most commercial e-juices I've tasted taste as if they are in loaded with flavoring (as mentioned in upwards of 30%). Leaves that film in your mouth. I've recreated this doing the same, hence my comment. I never go above 20% in my mixes.

Ran out of my first bottle of nicotine coming into a holiday weekend. It was on order but takes a few weeks for me. I got a few bottles of 18mg zig zag brand juice from the gas station and cut it down. Got me by.

I had to dilute Sweet Shack. I was looking for a good watermelon juice but it was sickening sweet at any wattage. Didn't actually measure, but adding more vg made it tolerable

I don't buy "premium juices" at all, they are all disguting to the extreme. Overly sweet and overflavored to the maximum.

Understandable, because smoker have very bad taste buds. But I have not, so I can't stand "premium juices".

The only one I really really like is this:

That's why I use them effectively as flavour concentrates. They either full a gap I can't with my DIY or I just dilute them to take a break from my own recipes.

yeah. I got some "politically correct" by dripstar vapor from a store. It's supposed to be watermelon and mint. nearly all i could taste was peppermint, a hint of watermelon, and sweetener so i added some of my own TFA spearmint . It turned out... Okay. I don't think much would have saved it for me. I like mints but it was just gross.
