The thought process
Being a big fan of custard vapes, I wanted to break the norm of the usual vanilla, banana or strawberry custard flavours. I began testing other fruit combos including mango, blueberry, raspberry and of course the one that gave birth to this recipe, lemon.
The breakdown
-
Vanilla custard
obvious choice here was the mac daddy of all custards, the CAP vanilla custard V1. not much else to say here as we all know if you want custard, you use this concentrate. -
Juicy lemon
I chose CAP juicy lemon as the main lemon note as I feel it tastes exactly like the juice of the lemon, and figured it would bring a great contrast to the sweet custard. -
Lemon scicily
The juicy lemon was good on its own in this mix, but I felt it was missing something. in comes lemon scicily. This brings a more zesty lemon note to the mix, rounding off the overall final lemon taste. -
French vanilla deluxe
Although this is a lemon custard, FVD was added in small percentages to bring the creaminess of the custard out, helping to mix the lemon notes into the heavy custard base. -
Cheesecake Graham crust
Added in small amounts this brings out an extra grainy mouthfeel to the mix, without muting the other flavour profiles. -
Bavarian cream
Finally I introduced bavarian cream into the mix. This flavour helps build on the creaminess of the custard, without boosting the sweetness.
That's it! any thoughts on this recipe I'd love to hear them.
Looks good. I don't have juicy lemon. Think lemonade or lemon/lime would be ok substitutes?
You could just add lemon juice. Almost the same thing.
artificial lemon juice contains sulphur dioxide, not sure if that's good to vape if I'm honest?
I just wanted to say that this is one of the best recipes I've ever tried. I let it steep for 2+ weeks and bam.... it was heavenly.
Made 200ml batch in a glass bottle. Recommend to everyone. Smooth lemon mixed with caramel-type of dessert. 10/10. Although 2+ weeks steep is truly a MUST cause it removes all harshness from lemon.
Thanks for the feedback. Appreciate it and happy you like it
Looks decent. I'm looking for a good dessert lemon... I'll try your combo!
Might I suggest that, instead of using FVD, swap it with Custard FA? It will make the lemon pop even more. Also, at 1%, FVD is barely noticeable.
I really want to try replacing the CAP Custard with FA Custard. It has that lemon note that I love. I think it may work well here.
try it. you don't have to stick to my recipe. build on it and tweak it to your own liking
Oh this is like a European custard, nice. FA Custard also has that little lemony touch to it, if you fancy trying that one. I'll mix this up when I get back from my vacation.
I posted a recipe for European Custard, I'm on mobile but if you check my Submitted in my profile it's not far down. Is delicious!
Ah cool, ill try and find it and give it a go when i get home again :)
I got home, here it is-

Its an ADV for me. Used in a Crown OG with RBA head and SS Claptons or twisted for what it's worth. It should be good dripping, but I think it's perfect in RTA's/RDTA's.
