Question about dialing in 100% pg juice
submitted about 8 years ago by MooseypoooDiketones, Schmiketones

I got impatient with my order of vg and just topped up my half finished mix with pg. So now I have a bunch of 100% pg juice and I love the throat hit and how it doesn't cloud up anything in the slightest!

The problem is the flavour is just too saturated. Should I pull back the total flavour % or should I stick to making 50/50?

Also I'm dripping

Dial back on the power. PG has a far lower boiling point than VG (188.2°C/370.8°F vs 290°C/554°F) so you're vaporizing more of the flavoring than you would with higher VG.

Oh shit that's good to know, running a fairly angry set of coils so I should be careful

Try reducing the total flavoring by about 20%.

Just curious-- ain't that juice a bit runny?

Yeah it's basically water, although it makes my chubby gorilla bottles less messy.

I probably won't do this again unless I need the stealth.

Also I thought it would bring out even more complexity in flavour notes compared 50/50 but it's just too much for my palate.

You need to dial back the flavouring quite a bit. I vape high PG (70PG) and for example when a oneshot calls for 20% I use 15% and usually it's spot on. For 100% PG I'd reduce the flavour by half or so, so if a oneshot is to be mixed at 20% use 10%.
